STAY AWAY
Listen to all the other reviews. I did not- thinking that every place has poor reviews. Food is terrible, drinks are made with cheap alcohol. Rooms are terrible. There is a warning sign in the bathroom not to consume any of the water. Beach chairs are limited- have to get to the beach by 7am to get a decent chair. If you want a hut- you need get there at sun rise. Guards with guns at the end of the beaches. If you go into town- they tell you to be careful and have the taxi stay there with you. People do not speak that great english- and they can be rude- unless they think you are going to tip them. TERRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY!!

The hotel is OK but a lot of the staff not all of them were on bad humor all the time, when i arrived to my room the were fix the lock and the bed wasnt ready when i ask for some one to make my bed the maid arrived with very bad actitude and fix my bed. the food was very poor, the dessert were HORRIBLE.
The Animation Staff were GREAT
Hotel was rated at 3.5 star and I agree. Good famiily venue- food, entertainment and staff were are great. Rooms were average- for a few dollars more, I would recommend upgrading to a ocean view.
They also charged $3-4 a day plus $50.00 deposit for a safe- In my mind, this really tells you that it is a 3.5 star.
My friends and I went to this resort for spring break last week. We are college students and weren't really expecting much but a place to sleep and plenty of alcohol. We chose this resort because I went 4 years ago with my family and it was great and it fit everyones budget. The ride from the airport to the resort is about 45mins-1hour. It took us 30 mins for us to check in because the language barrier from spanish to english was so terrible. No one understood what we were saying and I understand its a different country, but they should atleast know the basics. I've been to Punta Cana 8 times and I had never had a language barrier issue as bad as this resort. Our room smelled like smoke and the front desk told us all rooms were smoking no matter what you request. The furniture was all very outdated and dusty and moldy/mildew smelling. The upholstery was the exact same from when i was there 4 years ago. The bathroom was updated and very nice. If you like sleeping on bricks then you will enjoy the beds- they are SO hard and same with the pillows. We had to pay $50 US dollars to rent the safety deposit box but they gave it to our other friends for free and then tried to tell us they didn't. The food in the buffets were awful. I survived off of rolls, pizza, french fries and ice cream all week. It was the same exact foods every single day and only like 5 things to chose from. The italian and mexican restaurant were great. The steak house and seafood were disgusting. They told us we could only make 2 reservations during our whole stay there and then when we went to make them at 8:30am(when they opened) they told us everything was already booked, but then our friends went at 9:30am and got reservations. ANNOYING. The Beach was absolutely beautiful! Ocean was amazing-definitely their best feature! Pool was also really great and refreshing. All of the bartenders were so much fun- if it wasnt for them then i dont think i would have enjoyed it as much. Make sure you meet salsarean and iguana at the bars(they work there!) they are HILARIOUS and remembered all 20 of us everyday! The beach bar after 3pm was so much fun! You have to pay for drinks in the casino. If you want to do any of the water sports then you have to get lessons which are only offered at 9:30am- RIDICULOUS. Sadly on the last day I met a guy who worked there that was dominican, but american born and he spoke perfect english so I wish i had met him earlier in the week- he would have saved us from a lot of problems. The plugs are sunkin in the wall aka you cant plug in phone chargers or hairdryers, etc. if they have bulky ends. Went to the front to see if they had adapters that stuck out further-they did and tried to make us rent them for the week- luckily the turinter tour guide that we had(who was sooo nice and helpful) went to the front and just got them for us for free. Friends of ours did the horse back riding at sunset and had a really great time and even wanted to go for a 2nd time. Said it looked sketchy at first but the people were very nice. We all went on the Marinarium snorkling/swimming with sharks/natural pool expedition- we went on the morning tour and had a great time- probably one of the best days we had and met great people! Half of my friends that booked early payed about $860 and the other half that booked later payed $1,200 and I'd have to say that its definitely NOT worth either of those prices. Last year for spring break we all got a deal for Oceans Blue and Sand(which was an amazing resort!) in Punta Cana for $900 and we all agreed that we wished we payed $40 more to go there or somewhere else that was a bit nicer or newer. We didnt meet any americans at our resort- not that that is an issue but the resort is now very customized for europeans. I met a guy from germany that was there for his 3rd time and said it would also be his last. Personally I wouldnt recommend this resort to anyone. If you're going to invest your money in a vacation invest it elsewhere. Like i said it was my 8th time going to Punta Cana and this was the only resort that I've been to more than once- we love to try out new places and there are definitely A LOT better places than this one.
