Ready for a dreamy, romantic vacation? Journey to the sun-washed shores of Jamaica to experience Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay. This adults-only resort offers 350 ocean-view suites, each with a private balcony or patio. Life time memories.
Awesome! That's all i have to say. This was my first trip to Jamaica and We are still talking about it 5 months later. Can't wait for a good deal to bring the family. The service, the food, entertainment, you name it... Secrets got it! Thanks so much for how you treat your guest. You are awesome and I can't wait to see you guys again. This trip rekindled the fire in my marriage and I am so thankful this was the place I chose to bring her to make the magic happen. The beds were so soft and comfortable and we enjoyed the breath taking view of the ocean from our room.
This is a must repeat resort!!!!!!
Love you guys!
Short and sweet ...Wild Orchid was a wonreful place, great food beautiful pools great service only complant is one of the workers was rude to me the next day because I did not make there property tour even after telling them I wasnt going to make it... that made for a bad morning ...
Our first trip to this resort and, hopefully, not our last. Loved the location, privacy, quality of restaurants & food selection, pools,
landscaping, and gorgeous views.
The Pros....groundskeeping, beaches, pools, location, spa services,
and rooms were beautiful and clean.
The Cons... sitting through a sales pitch for their "preferred club"
for 2 hrs., we had to ask for toiletries in our room that should've
been included, a communication disconnect between the excursion
staff and bus driver for our one excursion, and an inconsistent
quality of service from the staff.
All in all, though, it was a fabulous place to spend a week relaxing
in the sun and a great value.

Honeymoon Package?5 answers
I am looking at booking Secrets Wild Orchid for our honeymoon.
I am looking at your preferred Club Jr. Suite, but I don't see how I include the honeymoon package? I thought maybe you could shed some light on it.
Thanks!
1 year, 15 months ago
Ash
Great question! Preferred club is only available on certain dates. Please call us if you don't see them at 800-915-2322 and a Beach Expert can get you set up immediately. Thanks!
CaribbeanJim
Lots of weddings and honeymooners at the resort. The staff decorated their doors and beach chairs! They have an office devoted to weddings--offer cakes, bouquets, etc. Don't know about a package, however.
Anne77
We just had our honeymoon here and it was great. We just did the basic room and they put us on the first floor next to the pool. I have to say, we loved it. We could walk back and forth from our patio to the pool. Having our room for fast access bathroom, food and water was great. We met friends with rooms on other floors and preferred ours over having to take elevators. The preferred club is kind of a waste to me. its more money, but doesn't really get you much more. Plus, you can go anywhere at the resort anyways. You can walk right up to the preferred club and use any of their ammenities. Even though we were honeymooning, we didn't spend too much time in the rooms to appreciate the outside soaking tub. Use the extra money for the Spa, which by the way they give you about $200 worth of coupons making all the spa treatments very cheap. Like $5-15 cheap for massage and hydro therapy!!! Hope this helps!!!
AlabamaHoneymooner
Friends of ours were with us on our trip and they did the preferred. They found that they paid more and got less than we did staying in the non preferred. They were not happy at all with the room service, and the fact that people from the nonpreferred were allowed to use the preferred facilities. They have no security stopping them.

Are there clothing optional areas for sun bathing?12 answers
1 year, 15 months ago
trendyv
Secrets resorts to not have clothing optional areas and do not encourage topless sun bathing, however if you are interested in a property that does, you may want to look into the Breezes resorts, as some of them do have clothing optional sections.
KateCC
Just returned from Orchids--did not see anyone without bathing suits--no optional beach for nude bathing either.

we didn't see any and my husband and I did walk the entire beach

There is very little privacy on the beaches, which are quite small. We saw a few topless sun bathers, but that was not common, and the staff discouraged doing so.

Didnt see bathing options.. resort has an toll free #....call and ask

Is it worth it to get the preffered club junior suite swim out?11 answers
I like the swim out feature and was wondering if it was worth the extra money?
1 year, 13 months ago
Mike
We didn't think so because it's not very private at all! The pool is so close anyways and a soakingtub is included in the other PC rooms and much more private.
swedishbeachgirl
I don't think so. We saw no one in the swim out pool.
tommyleelil
It seemed that their were some definate advanages to the preffered club... free internet.. no problem securing lounge chairs,... i think you get a private butler who handle all of your requests but I'm not sure how much more it costs
JOHNNYM
If you love the water and like the idea of walking out of your room directly to the pool then it is definitely worth it.
JenCC
I walked passed that area. The pool in that area is at most 10 feet wide. I liked the pool at the preferred St. James better.
lep543
Definitely not! People will constantly be walking by and seeing into your room. Also, the preferred club pool & beach are not as nice as the main beach and pool at the Secrets Wild Orchid. We stayed on the 5th (top) floor and had the most gorgeous views of the ocean & beach, and actually made several comments throughout our stay that we were so glad we decided NOT to do the preferred club.
Hawk
The hotel rooms are wondeful and have jacuzzi's inside them! i don't think it's necessary to upgrade
mandymo
I would say no, the swim outs are really not that great as far as location. The bottom floor rooms that go out to the beach areas are much better. and no extra cost.
beachlovers2011
Hi, we just got back from there and I thought the swim out suites were nice, but not worth the extreme price difference, the pools are all super nice and close to all the rooms.
cupcake123
We did not have the swim up room, but we saw them from the pools. These rooms offer very little privacy because you are on the ground level looking out into the pool area. We also talked with a couple while we were at this resort and they had mesquito issues with their balcony on the swim up room at night because of the water being so close.
Sas00112
I didnt get the swim out but I wish I did. I think that would be a great feature.

Can a wedding at my resort of choice be arranged through the website or does that go directly through the resort?

Yes, we saw 2 weddings during our stay and they do it nice
JOHNNYM
Friends of ours got married there. It was the ONLY thing they seemed to be good at. We had a bad experience at SWO/SSJ. I wouldnt go back, the staff is not friendly and the food (except wedding) was awful.

Does the resort offer free snorkeling trips?8 answers
I see that snorkeling is offered, but what does that mean? Snorkel gear with limited snorkeling off the beach? Or does the resort have a snorkel boat that takes guests out to a reef(s) at no cost?
mcmstuart
You can do two things for snorkeling:
1) Book an excursion for $36 for the afternoon snorkeling trip through JOlly PIrate or $56 for the afternoon snorkleing trip through De Palm Tours
2) Rent snorkel gear ($15.50 for 24 hours) at the shop fright in front of De Palm Pier ( red biuling right next door to hotel) and take the gear down to baby Beach.. Beautiful snorkeling and swimming and beach.. beats the high rise beaches..
Domino
Secrets Resorts offers snorkeling as part of the all inclusive package. They will provide you with snorkeling equipment if you wish to snorkel off the resorts beach. If you are interested in a catamaran snorkeling tour we suggest Island Routes - Island Vibes Catamaran Cruise which you may purchase on our website.
MeganCC
Hi, Just got back from Wild Orchid Montego Bay last Saturday. Snorkeling is offered at the resort and at certain time during the day. (Around 2:30) We snorkeled right off the beach and they provided all the snorkeling gear. They are limited to 21 people at a time. A guy is on a Kayak and he leads the way and 21 people swim behind him and he takes you out and you swim around a reef. It was really a lot of fun, we saw different kinds of fish and lots of shells. The trip took about an hour and it was included in our stay. No additional money.
Lalli
It's pretty basic but we didn't have a problem with that. You are provided with a mask, snorkel and fins and swim right off the shore of the resort. They take you out pretty far and there's a bunch of coral and lots of sea life to look at! Everything was free. There are other options that you have to pay for but we didn't look into it.
Anonymous
They offer guided snorkeling right off the beach of the resort. Included with the all-inclusive. There is a reef right there and we saw lots of fish and a sting ray too. They also offer snorkeling from a boat at an extra cost.
BeRyan
No cost for snorkeling if you do the guided tour where you swim out. There is also a paid one. But not necessary. They have all the gear. I would buy the underwater camera before going. They cost $11.99 at Target but $25.00 at resort.
Anonymous
We enjoyed snorkeling right from the beach as well as from a boat $$ - not pricey. From the beach, they have an organized - free - snorkeling where they take you pretty far out and you get to see some great reefs, smaller fish. From the boat, fish are bigger, reefs are prettier. tip the guys on the boat and they'll go extra to make your trip great with bait for the fish, etc. All the snorkeling was awesome. Weather sometimes makes it prohibitive and they tell you that at the resort when it's a problem.
Itiswhatyoumakeofit
Yes, it does. My husband took one trip our last day there. They
outfit you with fins and a mask, along with a life vest (although he
said you really didn't need the vest because of the bouyancy of
the salt water). You go to one of the huts poolside and schedule
when you want to go. They offer 3 times daily. The guide uses a
kayak and folks swim alongside til you get beyond the reef. Once
there you're out for about 1 to 1-1/.2 hrs. He said the fish were
plentiful and very colorful. This is the only no cost option.

What's the best Hotel for single woman to celebrate retirement?7 answers
Hi,
I'm retireing from the military, I'm a single female, and I want to come to Mo Bay, hopefully the Wild Orchid, and celebrate my retirement with a group of single, professional women. I chose Mo Bay because I've vacationed there before, but not on this level.
The Wild Orchid has everything we want, but my concern is that women out to have a good time, who are responsible, and want to have a grand, luxurious time. So would the Wild Orchid be able to cater to our wants, and needs to have a good time w/o any hassel?
Sandy
Dear Sandy,
Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! Secrets Wild orchid is a great place to kick back and celebrate, adults only and full service. An added advantage is full access to the neighboring property, Secrets St. James. You get two for the price of one! I would suggest you call one of our experienced destination specialists to discuss any specific requirements you may ave in planning your trip
ccsusan1
I traveled to Wild Orchid last year with two girl friends. We are all professional women from Maryland and Georgia. We had a great time. There were a lot of couples at the resort during the time we traveled. We only saw one other group of single women but we went in December right before Christmas. The staff will share with you places to hang out that is safe. I expected to see more singles but didn't but despite that we had a great time. Make sure you set aside a day to go to the spa.
SimplyBlessed
I went with my husband, but there were a lot of single women there. And they looked like they were having a really good time. I had a great time with my husband, but they sounded like they were probably having a better time!
Anonymous
Sandy, Just got back from Secrets Wild Orchid with my husband. It's an awesome, new resort. Great dining/entertainment with 9 restaurants and outside bars. Very safe. It's like a wonderful secluded city on the beach & very protected/gated. But depending on what you are looking for, it is mostly all couples. Hope this helps.
caribemama
You won't get any hassel at Wild Orchid and you will have a great time. Ugrade your rooms if you can and you'll really enjoy it more if you spend time in your rooms. You can do as much or as little as you like at this resort and have a fantastic time. We saw a group of single, older women when we were there as well. Not much of a "singles" resort so you didn't see the typically hooking up going on if that was your concern.
Itiswhatyoumakeofit
Absolutely, go for it! The spa is fabulous for pampering yourselves,
the restaurants are wonderful and good variety. Book at the Hibachi
Grill restaurant for your group and an entertaining time.
There are plenty of seats/lounges on the beach and at the pools for groups to congregate together and the swim up bars are great!
You won't have to worry about being harrassed like you would outside of a resort. Bring some good sunscreen and book before their rainy season and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
mrsdolittle714
I think Wild Orchid would be a great place for you and the ladies to kick up your hiles.. this place is very laid back and yall would have a ball...

Dress Code for Women at the Restaurants?8 answers
I read that Men must wear slacks & collared shirts--No tennys or sandals. What about women? Are we allowed to wear sandals with a dress or slacks, etc.?
nita
Did not note this before we left so I packed no slacks for my husband! They are quite relaxed about their dress codes-thank God! We ate in almost all the restaurants. I would suggest collared shirts for evening dining and I wouldn't stress the foot wear at all.
kedar
Dress code policy for Secrets Wild Orchird. Most of the restaurants require casual attire for breakfast and lunch and casual elegance for dinner. Below are the descriptions provided by the Secrets Resorts:
Casual
Bermudas (long shorts or capri pants), sneakers/ tennis shoes or sandals. No sleeveless shirts for men. Ladies must wear a bathing suit wrap or cover-up.
Casual Elegance
Sneakers/ tennis shoes or dress sandals, dress shirts with short sleeves and collar shirts.
No sleeveless shirts or flip-flops and long pants required for men.
Formal
For men, long pants and collar shirts; dress shoes.
For women, blouses, skirts, slacks or dresses; dress shoes.
MeganCC
No dress code seemed strictly enforced. If you are overly dressed, you will be one of the few. Sandals and dress slacks would be fine.
Itiswhatyoumakeofit
Yes, you can wear sandals. The men can also wear khaki shorts at all of the restaurants as long as you eat outside, which we did and it was very nice.
Jamaica4ever
Yes, women can wear sandals, flip flops...anything really.
Nasia
Yes, you will be fine. Don't worry about it..they don't enforce the dress code like crazy.
kszymczak
We just got back and I saw mostly sun or maxi dresses and sandals.
You can also wear a nice pair of slacks or dress shorts with a top
and sandals.
mrsdolittle714
Dress code is not inforced at all,,,most girls do wear some kind of dress though. I seen many guys wearing shorts and sandals..
