Absolutely amazing experiance

Our trip to Puerto Los Cabos was amazing. We could not have been happier. There are only a few things I will point out that deserve improvement, but I feel my ranking above still shows my pleasurable experience. 1. the room temperature. It would not get below 70 degrees. No me gusta. The room has a sensor so when someone is not in the room, it kicks the AC off. So when would normally crank the temperature down when you leave for dinner , then come back to a chilled room for the night, this sadly didn't happen. I understand conservation but we did not like this at all. 2. turn down service came anywhere from 5pm to 10pm. We were very confused by this. Always bring more water and extra chocolate :) Also a proper turn down service includes opening the bed sheets, removing pillow, etc... this didn't happen. 3. some of the guests that arrived on our last day. A bachelorette party decided to choose Secrets as their personal party place. I was really displeased the resort would allow them and/ or not strongly make the recommendation to go to Breathless. 99% of the people at Secrets are couples, so for me to be lounging at the pool, even if I have heavily consuming pina coladas with my husband, I don't want a bunch of gross, obnoxious girls next to me. Not cool Amazing- food! the service, ESPECIALLY from ABEL!!!! He served us at the pool every day. We were absolutely in love with him!!! Drink option, although the wine and champagne was very poor. An upgrade there is definitely needed. We will 10000% be going back to several Secrets resorts in the near future!

Excellent place to recharge

Our vacation at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos was just what needed. Other than Hurrican Newton giving us a rocky start ad delaying our arrival we couldn't have had a better time. Considering the hurrican made landfall in the early am the day of our arrival the resort was clean and presentable. The staff that had come to work was extremely pleasant and got us checked in promptly. Felt a little sorry for our bell boy since the elevators were not working due to the storm. But he carried our luggage up f4 flights of stairs with a smile and made us feel right at home. Our room was appointed as pictured. I have stayed in other Secrets resorts and they are always nicely decorated. That first night only 2 restaurants at the resort were open so accomodating everyone's meal was definitely a chore and we ended up eating at the Buffet. The staff worked diligently to feed everyone as best they could. The beach was also closed due to the storm not that it would have mattered that much since it is not a swimmable beach because of the undercurrents. If you are coming for a beach this is not a place for you. The pool area however was wonderful and this was where we spent most of our time. We met so many nice people sitting at or in the pool enjoying cocktails, some of these I hope will be lifelong friends. The service at the pool was outstanding with every waiter working hard to make sure we had everything we needed and quick service. The entertainment staff worked hard to involve everyone at the resort in the activities. I think All the guests had a great time. One downside to the hurricane is that we didn't get into Cabo San Lucas because the town was without power and water for a couple of days. The cab ride from the resort was pricey so it would be cheaper to rent a car if you plan on venturing outside the resort. We did go into San Jose one night for dinner and the cost was $5 a person and the taxi was waiting for us 2 hours later when we were done. Several of the restaurants were closed due to the storm as well,. But they adequately served everyone and the food was excellent in the restaurants that were open. Portifino was our favorite. The staff was very friendly and provided exceptional service. Overall, even with the hurricane, we had a fabulous vacation and would definitely consider returning at a future time so we can get into Cabo. We expect to continue visiting Secrets resorts at other locations.

Lovely Vacation Spot

This was an interesting vacation as we were in the middle of Hurricane Newton. All turned out well. The hotel staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the restaurants, food was amazing at Himitsu and Portafino. Market cafe had a nice brunch too. But Oceana was not good. They had no fresh catch from the area and no lobster! The food there was not seasoned either. Salmon in Mexico is just weird. :) This should have been their best restaurant given the location of this resort. The rooms were amazing, ocean view had a lovely Jacuzzi tub with a spacious his and hers bathroom. They were very clean and comfortable beds. They were decorated very well too with a spacious armoire. The pool was very nice. It was huge and they cleaned it about one day after the hurricane. Excellent food and drink service there. We wanted more USA beer selection. But the drinks were all wonderful. The nightlife was limited to one small place, but was very fun with karaoke, live music events etc. Rendezvous was another bar near the lobby. It was very nice and comfortable. Lots of lounging areas in this hotel. There was one hiccup with the bill we are still trying to figure out. They overcharged us big time on one of the cards we gave them. Not sure the reservations agent understood how to take multiple payments. His math was way off. The spa was lovely as well. The masseuses were very skilled and the spa area was very relaxing. It is a bit pricey. The beach was a long walk from the hotel. Did not appear to be a swimming beach. But the hurricane would have prevented that anyhow. The resort is not close to Cabo San Lucas or excursions. So be prepared for 30 minute to an hour transfers.

Excellent Quality and Value

My boyfriend and I were looking for an adults only all-inclusive vacation and this place really delivered! Starting with their cool towel and champagne greeting, the service was above and beyond here. Our room was spacious and luxurious, and we liked its location close to the center of the action. There was one weird thing where noise from the hallways really carried, so that was kind of annoying, especially when we had some noisy neighbors for a time. Once they went into their rooms and closed the door it was fine. The mini fridge had a nice selection of sodas and juices, along with mini bottles of beer, but no hard liquor. Since food and beverages are all-inclusive I can see why they might not want people to have hard liquor in their rooms, but a little something extra would've been nice. We spent most of our time by their two gorgeous pools: the main larger one was more the "party" pool with activities and louder music, and the smaller one right above the beach was the more chill pool, which is what we preferred. We did find that if you didn't come out early enough and claim chairs they were hard to come by later in the day. We did hang out by the beach for a time one of the days but we weren't allowed to go into the water because of the dangerous surf and tides. Still a nice place to take in the beautiful views with some drinks from the nearby bar. Poolside and beachside bar service was good overall, and we thought the drinks were well-made, if not terribly potent. Again, they probably don't want people getting completely smashed, so I understand. There was a nice variety of dining options, and we got to try all of them except for Oceana, the seafood place by the small pool. Breakfasts and lunches were usually at Market Cafe or Seaside Grill or the snack shack, and for dinner we tried Portofino, Himitsu, and El Patio, the Italian, Japanese and Mexican restaurants, respectively. While the food was good and plentiful, I can't say they were truly great, especially the sushi/sashimi--the variety and quality of fish just weren't there, but it was acceptable, especially considering where we were at. Overall the food was fine, and the service was uniformly excellent, including the 24/7 room service, which was very convenient and quite good, especially the pasta dishes. They have a little cupboard by the front door where you put your dirty dishes, which was a nice way to keep them out of sight and away from bugs, I imagine. We were lazy bums most of the time, but we did manage to go for an organized bike ride one of the days, where we explored the marina area and stopped by a cactus farm, which was fun and a nice bit of exertion. Speaking of exertion, they have a small but very nice gym on the premises, with a variety of cardio machines and weights, and I did manage to squeeze in a workout one of the days. Hurricane Newton put the kaibosh on our town visit day, but we were content to laze about and view the storm from the comfort of our room. Since most of the restaurants and bars had to close for the day, most everyone was hanging out at the Market Cafe and the sports bar. Turned out to be a fun afternoon of lively trivia and ping pong games--storms can be fun! The staff did an amazing job of putting the resort back together after the storm; by the day after things were looking almost back to normal and it didn't really affect our vacation very much. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we had a blast. We were impressed by the Secrets brand and would definitely consider visiting their other locations!

The majestic exterior and minimalist interior populated with sleek, modern furniture and bright, poppy accents. (Pictures don't do it justice).

The beds will make you sleep like a baby and there's a pillow menu.

The poolside concierge. Oh yeah. You'll be living large.

Treatments like the De-Stressing Swedish Massage and Sculpting Green Coffee Wrap. Stress-smashing stuff.

Secrets box for private room service delivery - you don't ever have to see a human if you don't want to.

World-class 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus is nearby. (You golfers are drooling. Fess up).

Himitsu, the Pan-Asian restaurant that has three teppanyaki tables. Insanely good.
