What I love about this resort:
Up until early January 2009, this hotel operated as an all inclusive property. That has now changed. Sandy bay sits on a great stretch of beach and offers good value beach front accommodation. The hotel gets constant praise for the friendliness of the staff, and their excellent breakfast buffet.
What I wish I could change:
The standard room is very small, so upgrade to the 1 bedroom suite for a lot more room and great views.
Why YOU should go:
If budget friendly is important to you, then this is the place to be. The property appeals to families and couples, and there is a kids club if you want to drop the little ones off.

Sandy Bay Beach Club is an oceanfront property nestled in a lush tropical setting on what is maybe the best and largest beach in Barbados. Protected by a coral reef this beautiful beach is a tropical dream come true.

Located on the beautiful south coast of Barbados, Sandy Bay Beach Club is ideally located in close proximity to a wide variety of restaurants, sports bars, nightclubs, entertainment, banks and supermarkets, and is within walking distance of the world-renowned St. Lawrence Gap, the centre of dining and entertainment in Barbados. For those who just want to relax, there is a lovely pool and a magnificent beach with the tranquil and turquise blue Caribbean ocean.

Sandy Bay Beach Club is about 2 minutes drive from the 9-hole Rockley hotel golf course, 10 minutes drive from the capital city of Bridgetown, 12 minutes drive from the 18-hole championship golf course, Barbados Golf Club (our parent company and Sandy Bay Beach Club is part owner of BGC) and 15 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel is located on the main bus route and a taxi service is always available.

Public transportation is available right at the main entrance of the resort.

As a Green Globe 21 certified hotel, all rooms and enclosed public areas are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted at the bars, on the beach, and in the garden and grounds.

Dining:

**Quarter Master Restaurant - Beachfront restaurant offers buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner with many tasty Bajan dishes. Breakfast: 7am to 10am; Buffet Lunch: 12pm to 3pm; Buffet Dinner: 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Afternoon Tea also served here.
**Hidden Treasure - A la Carte fine dining restaurant (local and international cuisine) is open daily for dinner 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Reservations must be made.
**Buccaneer Bar - Beachside bar offers an array of drinks including colourful tropical cocktails: 11am to 11pm.
**Snack Kitchen - Offers light snacks, such as sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza and fries: 11am to 10pm.
