Dude, it was something I can't explain!

I seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY, cannot explain how much I loved this place! Juan, Mio, Ms. Verna, and all of the staff were amazing. The room was clean and beautifully blue. We had room service that was amazing and fast. Our Ocean View Room on the 5th floor (502) was the shiz! I opened my eyes in the morning and literally seen nothing but ocean and sky blue. Wave crashing up on the shore. I swear it was amazing. The drinks at Mist (the rooftop bar) were great. The reason I gave the dining a 3 is because it was a very extremely limited menu but it tasted very good. The scenery, and the decor were just perfection. I love love loved it and I swear I'll be back for sure before this year ends!!!!

Not worth the money

The hotel staff are wonderful for the most part. Only once or twice did I feel like the concierge only show up to work out of obligation. Housekeeping come late. Ours after 6pm. 3 times we were cramped into an elevator with a service cart. Once the cart carried alcohol to another floor. The second time was with a person who was probably maintanece carting paint and painting supplies, and the 3rd was just an empty cart. It's not a big deal except the elevator and the cart are almost the same size. Our room was less than desirable, however not bad enough to eat the $1000.00 reservation. There was mold on the windows and bathroom tile. On Wednesday during our stay we were "pushed out" buy visiting cruise passengers. It was like they were more important than standard paying hotel guest. The pool is small, approx 20x10 or so and the pool deck only accommodates 6. Why care about the pool when you're at the beach? The water is nasty and the beach was unkept. The roof top lounge was very nice. This hotel is not grouped "with" the other hotels, it's about 6 blocks down in an area where gang painted buildings are the norm. And during our stay, this hotel did not keep the area of the "secluded" beach clean. There was a lot of litter. If you are looking for an 80's Miami Vice feel, the decor here is something you'll like. However, there isn't much close by. Don't waste money on the "transportation" the cab ride was $16 or so vs $80 via the package add on.

Average but overpriced

Good: - Located on a beach - Clean - Staff is very friendly and helpful - Close to stores and restaurants Not so good: - Overpriced both the hotel and the restaurant - Rooms are clean but small and not very convenient - There is no fresh-water showers on the beach -There is no public restrooms on the beach. Residents of the hotel can use hotel facilities but the beach is public and there are other people on the beach. I suspect that lack of restrooms affects the urine level in the sea water

Functional and Convenient

Hotel was OK - clean, functional. Elevator was really cool. Its a boutique hotel and small. Its convenient to everything. You MUST zipline while you are here!!!!! It has the best zip lining ever and I have been zip lining all over the world!!!! Its a basic hotel, not many amenities but its functional. For the price, it was perfect.

What's to Love

The Skyline Beds on the rooftop are wonderful. These nifty lounges are great, whether you're sunbathing during the day, or stargazing at night.

What We'd Change

Neutral shades seem to be the predominant colors in the rooms, but sometimes a bright splash appears. The neutral colors add to a sense of tranquility.

Hotel Description

San Juan Water and Beach Club: Discover Island Chic

From the pristine beach only 10 feet away to a trendy new rooftop bar, San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel captures the attention of hip travelers. With recent $2.5m renovation, this boutique hotel in the upscale Isla Verde area of San Juan is exceptional, with award-winning decor and first-class service in an intimate environment.

As soon as you enter the lobby, you'll be welcomed with distinctive style. A waterfall wall, violet ceiling lighting, limestone floors and frosted glass create a stylish ambiance. Check in is accompanied by the sounds of gentle surf corridor speakers to set the mood. The hall itself is a satisfying illusion: you seem to be walking on pebbles, which are actually clever floor tiles. When you enter the elevator, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the sight of another waterfall behind glass.

Ready to catch some rays, or take a dip in the hotel pool? You'll find the pool and sundeck on the rooftop. First grab a playa colada cocktail at Mist, the bar on one side of the roof, before scoping out the sundeck. The Beds in Heaven, over-sized lounging beds, catch your eye. "What a life," you think, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean before sinking in. Or if you prefer a perfect beach, just across the quiet street the two-mile stretch of Isla Verde Beach with its golden sands are waiting for you.

When you're craving a little lunch to remember, try Mist, which transforms into a bar from noon-10pm. Mist is widely recognized as one of the hottest spots in San Juan. Maybe you'll catch sight of a celeb or two while you're unwinding with a nightcap.

With only 81 rooms and suites, the San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel offers a cozy get-away for travelers tired of wearing wristbands at giant, crowded resorts. Whether you stay in a room, you'll have floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the Atlantic. Soft lighting playing off neutral colors calms you in your little haven. Upscale luxury, boutique service, this is the spot for you!

This hotel is NOT all-inclusive. Food and drink must be purchased separately.
Unless otherwise specified, all services are available for an additional charge.
