Best Deal Ever
First time using cheap caribbean .com ,best deal so far and i'm an avid traveler to the caribbean. San Juan Marriott was excellent , didn't have any problem getting around, staff was great and very helpful. Would definitely visit Puerto Rico again and would be staying at the Marriott.
Cheap Caribbean is a great site to get excellent vacation deals! This was our second trip back to the Marriott in San Juan and we LOVE this hotel. We always get the ground floor facing the pool and ocean. Despite our room being next to a music speaker and the jack hammering in the lobby, it was a fantastic trip! We don't bother eating the food at the Marriott because we don't want to pay $15 for crummy chicken fingers and $10 for a beer. We experienced authentic Puerto Rican food right across the street at Miro and throughout San Juan. Also, Old San Juan has wonderful dining options. We enjoyed the Marriott because it is clean, comfortable, and convenient to the bus stop. The staff is very accommodating as well. The pools are beautiful and the hot tub is amazing! The beach and grounds are very well kept and just beautiful! The casino is also nice. I would highly recommend this hotel despite a few weaknesses but definitely more strengths.

Marriott San Juan
The trip to San Juan was wonderful! the Marriott offered us an Ocean front upgrade on the Cabana side of the hotel as soon as we arrived. It was well worth the extra bucks a night to listen to the waves and have a clear view of the ocean. The room was what you expect at a Marriott, clean, quiet and well dressed. Plenty of hot water and the elevators were always prompt. We tried the restaurants onsite, but found many places we liked more just outside on the main street. Cabs were quick and plentiful too. All of our drivers were friendly and spoke english. They always had a suggestion for something new if you asked.
We missed the grand opening of the new Lobby by one day, but we had fun watching them prepare for it. The lobby really dresses up the front entry now with a new bar, lounge areas and direct access to the casino. The casino was fun with plenty of room to walk around. The concierge, tour operators, and bartenders were always ready to help if you had any questions or concerns. The pool and jacuzzi area were well cared for and attended by staff. You always felt you could raise a hand and staff would come over to assist. We had such a great time, we are looking at San Juan for our upcuming destination wedding next year.

If traveling alone, does that mean I must pay double the advertised price (double occupancy). I am looking at your advertisment for San Juan Puerto Rico $399 4n+air

Single traveller pricing is not necessarily double the special advertised pricing. Most resorts do charge a single supplement fee, which would make the pricing a bit higher than the pricing would be per person if you were travelling with another guest. However, it does vary, and you would be best to check on our web site for the specific pricing. In order to price a single traveller, you would just need to change the number of guests to 1 when pricing out packages on our site.

i don't think that it is fair but I would try to find somebody to go with since it is not fun to go by yourself.

Whats the best hotel for a Honeymoon in Puerto Rico?7 answers
We would like to go to Puerto Rico in September of 2012 after our wedding and would like the best place to stay to do so.

Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. We have many properties in Puerto Rico which would be perfect for a honeymoon. Some of them are right in San Juan, and others are more secluded and are great for "getting away from it all". You can search all of our properties which are available during your travel dates by going to our website at www.cheapcaribbean.com. The orange box on the left allows you to plan your own vacation by selecting your outbound airport, destination, dates of stay, number of travellers, etc. Once submitted all our available properties will come up and you can narrow your choices according to your specific desires. You can also do a "Quick Search" , below the large orange box-simply select 'Search by Destination" and all properties in Puerto Rico will be displayed. Please keep in mind that many of our properties do not have the 2012 special rates loaded yet so you may want to wait till after Jan. 1 to get accurate pricing. However you are certainly able to compare properties and amenities in the interim.

We are just back from 5 days at the San Juan Marriott and I give it my highest recommendation. I don't know what sorts of features you are looking for in a hotel, but this hotel is everything it claims to be.

My Wife and I just got back from San Juan Marriot on September 28, 2011. The Marriot was great. You have a star bucks across the street. Walgreens is just a block away from the Marriot as well as resturants and stores, all located walking distance. The beach wasn't the cleanest, cigarette butts here and there. But I would stay there again.

Sarah,
We just came back, and this hotel would not be my recommendation. However, if you want to go to Puerto Rico, http://honeymoons.about.com/od/puertorico/p/la_concha_resor.htm
This above link is to La Concha resort which for us, is much better than the Marriott which is where we stayed. It is more active, nicer, cleaner, music all night and we ate at La Perla for our anniversary and it was great, but expensive. I would certainly not go to the Marriott for my wedding.
JoeMontreal
i would recommend Marriott Stelaris because the place is clean, they have the best beach compared to nearby hotels and walking distance to restaurants and bars. Closed to Old San Juan(lots of places to see) which is accessible by bus which is only $.75 cents one way

This is a GREAT location for a romantic getaway. Go for it!

While we were at the Marriott, we met two couples on their honeymoon. Both couples had the same fun experience that we did while there in early December. There are bigger resorts on the island but they come with a higher price tag. We were able to rent a car and drive all of the way around the island in a day. Next time we plan to stay a few days at two different resorts so we can experinece both sides of the island

Please read my current review! We just got back from the San Juan Marriott and really enjoyed it! Highly recommended and very convenient.

San Juan Marriott: Kid-Friendly, Sizzling Nightlife and Ocean Club Spa
Leave your stress behind and get a needed dose of fun in the sun! Round up the family and head for the beachfront San Juan Marriott in Puerto Rico, where a 90-ft, spiral waterslide delights the kids, while you unwind in a two-level pool. Bring dancing shoes and shopping bags, because sizzling nightlife and authentic shops are right outside the Marriott in San Juan.
Located on a wide stretch of Condado Beach, the golden sand is a sunny spot for pulling up a lounge chair, while the kids search for treasure. Ready for a cold one? Let the kids navigate the children's pool, while you swim-up to La Isla Grill and Pool Bar for a passion-fruit mojito. Swim up an appetite and indulge at one of four restaurants; we love grilled grouper in a zesty, tamarind sauce at La Vista Latin Grill, or cannelloni di aragosta (pasta stuffed with lobster ragout) at Ristorante Tuscany. After dinner, it's time to experience San Juan nightlife. Share a dance with someone special at 1309, or head to BLU for pia coladas and DJ jams.
From food to fun, guests enjoy everything about the Marriott in San Juan. Challenge the kids to a game of beach volleyball or a friendly tennis match. Feeling lucky? Stellaris Casino has more than 426 slots machines and 26 table games for you to woo Lady Luck. Rather spend your cash on something with a guaranteed return? Ocean Club Spa delivers pure gold with the Jet Lag massage. Relax and let the essential oils and plant extracts ease your back and neck after a day of fun.
Between resort and beach fun, Old San Juan's rich culture deserves your attention. Three historic forts, Fort San Felipe del Morro, Fort San Cristbal and El Cauelo, were designated UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1983 and offer fascinating daytrips along with San Juan's great shopping. When you're ready to call it a night, the Deluxe City View Room sleeps a family of four comfortably. Staying with someone special? Check out the Ocean Front Room and share a romantic sunset on the balcony.
