Royal Suites - They are sweet!
We've stayed at the Royal Suites twice in the last 3 years, both times in the original section. I won't call it the "old" section, as I believe the RS only opened about 5 years ago. I may be wrong on that, but they certainly aren't old.
What's so terrific? Being in a small-ish exclusive section of a much larger resort gives you all of the options, or hang out by the RS pool for peace, quiet and great service. Dining choices are many, with RS guests given preferential reservations (basically whenever you want) and upgraded wine options at any restaurant in the resort. Having many more top shelf alcohol options, including aged anejo. Add to that many smaller additions like room service and the Royal Gourmet restaurant and it'll equal a good value, great service, wonderful location vacation.
To begin with our accomadations were absolutely luxurious !! The pools looked quite inviting ( although we never made into any of those ) ! We enjoyed the private beach area daily. One of our most treasured memories was the parasailing venture that we booked right there on the beach ! The views from above were breath taking ! We would love to go back, and would recommend it to anyone !
This Resort was friendly, clean and on top of their game! We would definately go back. We went with our 18 year old daughter and her friend. They had a blast as did we. Plenty to do day and night!

First Time's a Charm!
Having never been to the Caribbean, we thought we'd do it up so we didn't later wonder if we'd have liked it better if only we'd sprung for a better place. Whoa!! This place blew away our expectations!
First let me say that the food and accomodations were awesome, but having never stayed in a resort-we had no frame of reference for if this is typical (but can't see how anyplace could match this one!). Everything was clean and sanitary, beautiful rooms, etc. We loved having fresh fruit & veggies every meal, awesome seafood, lots of specialty items to try-it was really just fantastic!
We can honestly say that the Royal Suite's biggest asset was their staff-every single person we met was just incrediblly helpful and kind-sincerely, and genuinely! We never felt "tolerated" or like "touristas"-quite the opposite! Staff were always amazingly friendly and so appreciative at our meager attempts at Spanish, but were fluent in every language spoken to them. How is that even possible?
In addition, the shows were really fun; the beach was incredible; and the grounds & pools were just beautiful. We felt safe, and well cared for every step of the way!
We just can't say enough nice things about this place. We have already recommended it to everyone we know!

Room Information
140 specious rooms located on a spectacular property surrounded by coconut trees, swaying palms, native flowers and lush tropical vegetation. Guests at The Royal Suites will stay in newly-built rooms decorated with great attention to detail and with a sea view. The accommodations are luxurious. Large, well lit rooms with polished marble floors, soft-fabrics, well-appointed sparkling bathrooms, whirlpool bath in room, hair dryers, separate shower, or two double beds, balcony or patio, sitting area and so much more. The rooms and suites are spectacular and are the best rooms in Bavaro. The honeymoon suites feature a king-size 4-poster beds and an exterior hydro-massage bath. As well as being equipped with the facilities and services offered at Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino, the rooms have a king-size bed, jacuzzi for two people, a mini-bar which is refilled every day and Room Service (extra charge).
All rooms have a key system (main entrance door) with an electronic locker system, balcony or terrace (with coffee table and 2 chairs), direct dial phone, electronic safety deposit box, mini bar (daily reposition), air-conditioning and fan, Satellite TV, facilities for tea and coffee, ironing board and iron, full bathroom with hairdryer and make up mirror. "
I have children, but in this case, it was nice to spend time in an environment where children are not permitted.
What We'd Change
I found the exclusive pool area to be lacking a unique Caribbean feel. The Royal Suite lobby was small and could have used a bit more pizzazz.
Why You Should Go
If you're one of those travelers that likes your own special spot that never appears to be crowded, you will have that here. For an adult only say this is GREAT value.
