Amazing Vacation!

My family of 7 stayed at the Royal Solaris Resort in Cancun for 5 days and it was incredible. Our first time in Cancun and this beautiful Resort far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful pools with swim up bar and plenty of lounging chairs. The food was great and our server Darvin was fantastic!

Good for children not great for Adults

Starting with the positives....Beach and water we're awesome, pools were good, and the kid play area/shows/activities for the kids were great. The in between... the rooms, service/friendliness of staff. The negatives...the food wasn't very good, no room service, and the value as a whole wasn't great either because we ended up booking at another hotel for the last day of our trip because we missed our first day at Royal Solaris due to flight delays and at the other hotel everything was 10 times better and we only paid 50 dollars more than we were paying at Royal Solaris. In summary your little ones will have a blast and you'll love the beach but everything else is pretty much subpar.

Good purchase, but I'd change certain things

The resort itself was very nice, it was clean and presentable. The beaches were very clean and nice the pools were nice good size Pro's: good food, clean, presentable, accommodating, descent food, good location from the strip about 5 minutes on bus Con's: not top shelf liquor, no club at night and worst part to my surprise no nighttime entertainment, nonshows no nothing, not even music, this was shocking to me, first time I've ever seen such a thing Overall the experience was very nice and the staff were very nice as well. I wasn't a fan of the type of alcohol, they could do a better job on this including their types of mixed drinks, and it would be nice if top shelf liquor was included. I was very disappointed in the no night club, but most importantly in lack of any nighttime entertainment. Not one show, nothing. Another thing that I was dissapointed in was the lack of pool entertainment, no entertainment at all, they need to do a better job on this, the hottest thing here was the water aerobics. Definitely not the hottest spot for spring break, but it's descent if you aren't looking for all that craziness. There was a mixture of ages, some families, some elders but mostly either 20-36 I would say as average

Not the resort we paid for.

First, our seats on the airplane were not together. The airlines said Cheap Carribean should have taken care of that. We checked in and were told that we were being moved to a different hotel next door. No reason was given. Waited until room was ready then got" ambushed" by a (sales) rep who was going to give us a tour but tried to get us to come to a sales meeting. Tour was useless because we were not in that hotel. We got settled and went to pool at the hotel we originally booked. No chairs available. We were pushed to eat at "Marco Polo's" which was suppose to be their best restaurant but it was the worst food and service we had the entire stay. The menu we reviewed was not the menus they had that night and that is the only reason we chose them. I got ill from the coffee creamer Sat. morning. The best restaurant was by far " BOGAVANTE". EXCELLENT FOOD, PRESENTATION AND SERVICE. we ate there 5 times. Beach bar service needs major improvement. The wait staff at GR Caribe were usually hanging out at the bar by the pool. 3 to 5 at a time. Several times we ordered drinks that we never received and when I went to get them myself the waitress was hanging out with other staff. Unfortunately, Spring Break was starting on Sat. and there were a lot of very drunk people. Fortunately we left Sunday. I feel we paid for a specific resort and got pushed out to another property. There should be some sort of reimbursement. This was to be a special birthday celebration that had lots of reservation problems. Sincerely, Momma Nanc

What's to Love

The breathtaking sands and turquoise waters are some of the prettiest we ever seen. Bonus: the tranquil waves that whisper your name for an afternoon swim.

Made-to-order, scrumptious brick oven pizzas served by the pool (lunch with a killer view always wins.)

Check out the theatre - a smorgasboard of shows, including comedy, Broadyway, Mayan and more. It's different each night!

Tons of super fun activities for the young ones - each day is a different theme - Tuesdays are Pirate Days (Aye, Matey!)

Full-service stress-ousting spa where you are fussed over and pampered.

What We'd Change

The resort is busy, active and you might see lots of fun families - keep this in mind if you're looking for lots of peace and quiet.

Why You Should Go

In the heart of Cancun's Hotel Zone - once you land, you'll be soaking in the sweet sun beachside in no time.

Swoon-worthy views of the Caribbean Sea from almost every spot at the resort.

For those that want to kick it up a notch and party in Cancun, a one-way shuttle will take you into town. (Your secrets are safe with us).

The two-level pool is full of nooks and crannies to explore so you can find the best spot to spend your day.

A mini-water park is a major hit with your little angels (and a hit with you - they will be happily worn out.)
