Good for the price.

The rooms are clean but small, and coming from a home with locks on the door it was crazy to have a door that locked from the outside and only had a chain on the inside. The staff was friendly, in some cases overly friendly. It was also garbage how expensive wifi was. The beach was BEAUTIFUL and well maintained and calm. While was there they were doing a free upgrade to the montego location which as wonderful.

Good for the price.

Poor standard

This hotel did not meet my expectations. The place is in need of some serious renovations. Once renovated, it can be the the ideal place to get away. I did not like the food, it was bland and the same thing almost everyday. The staff was sweet, but the place was deplorable.

Well Worn

My wife and I went to this resort for our 45th wedding anniversary. Over the years,we have stayed at more than 2 dozen all inclusive resorts. This one needs updating ---badly. When we arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon, the buffet was closed so we went to the Jasmine Delta snack bar. Just after we ordered a burger and fries, a bus load of other guests arrived at the snack bar. We watched as other guests --whom arrived after us--got served while we waited. I talked to a server who rudely replied we would be served "in order". After more waiting, I went to speak to a person who looked to be in charge and she ignored me and walked away. After waiting a total of 1 1/2 hours, we left ---HUNGRY---we were NEVER served. In fairness, when we complained at the front desk, they offered to cook up a little something to tide us over until the buffet opened, but we decided to wait for the buffet to open. The "casita" we stayed in was shabby, and the roof leaked when it rained. No WiFi, no mini-fridge, no microwave and only ONE bottle of purified water during the whole 8 days we stayed. The entertainment was basically the same every night--a lot of jiggle/shake dancing to reggaeton music---the only thing different each night was the costumes. On the positive side, the food in the buffet was decent, and HOT (like it should be) and the selection was varied. The shower had hot water but the pressure was a little on the weak side. We were lucky and only had rain on 2 days out of 8 ( but it rained ALL DAY LONG each of those 2 days.) We took the Bob Marley tour and really enjoyed it--not because we are into smoking ganja or into black history or reggae music ---but because of the absolutely fascinating 1 1/2 hour trip (each way) into the interior of Jamaica and the stop at the ultimate JERK CHICKEN restaurant at the end of the tour. Overall, we had an enjoyable time despite our dislikes.

Rasta no refuse it.

I hope this review helps you. Please don't be afraid to ask questions. My girlfriend and I just returned from our trip and would LOVE to be back there right now. We were quite jealous of the Europeans who were fortunate enough to have 2 weeks to spend there. Alright, review time. The good: This place is an absolute hidden oasis. It's about an hour from MBJ airport and located off a very unassuming street. What drew us to this resort were the cottages and they didn't disappoint. They are spread out and very comfortable. The bed was huge and I was worried it would be too firm at first but there were no issues there. The grounds are stunning and what I think of when I think of Jamaica. Lush palm trees growing coconuts which the grounds keepers would gladly retrieve for you. There were mango trees all around as well. Truly stunning. Then we got to the beach and were even more blown away. The beach is a series of half moon coves which were meticulously groomed daily. There was no fighting for space. We always walked right up and found a pair of beach beds under an umbrella with a table for our drinks. The water was a wonderful blue and very comfortable temperature wise with just enough waves to keep us on our toes. Everyone who worked there was amazing. Phillip and Gavin on the wait staff were super polite and eager to please. Big Mike at the main bar was the best. He even had a few drinks sent my way when he saw I was low and would find me bigger cups for my beer. The entertainment staff was were terrific. Very engaging and super friendly. The shows were great too. Something new each night. The quiet pool was a bit tucked away but nice to get away from kids and there was a bar right there. I just wish they used different tiles around the pool. The ground was VERY hot if you were barefoot in the afternoon. There were plenty of activities such as archery, tennis, shuffle board, all types of board games. The gym was nice. It had most of what you needed. There was a smith machine, an incline and decline bench as well as dumbbells, a cable crossover and a few cardio machines. The bad: As stated, the cottage was amazing. But, if we had gone in a warmer month, it may have been a different story. The AC units are small and while they do keep the room cool, they don't work quite the same as traditional AC so it could get hot in there. Also, they don't pump AC into the bathroom. Luckily, we've run into this before and brought a couple of battery operated fans to keep cooler in there. If you are a light sleeper, I would pack a mask and ear plugs. The blinds let in a good amount of light and because of the construction of the cottages, you can hear what's going on outside. I popped in ear plugs and was fine. I was disappointed to find there was no fridge in the room. One could have been brought in for $5 a day. We declined. Make arrangements ahead of time if you need one for medicine or whatever. Also, the safe was a few bucks a day and required a key in addition to the 1 room key. So I had to lock the safe, hide the key in the room and walk around with a room key on my wrist and we just had 1 key between the 2 of us. I had a phone data plane thru my provider so I can't speak to the Wi-Fi. As stated, there is no fridge so that means no mini bar. I've never stayed at an all inclusive resort which had drinks and a mini bar in the room so that wasn't a big deal for me. Just a head's up for those that are used to that. My girlfriend and I would take a big gym style jug and get a mixed drink and a few beers to take back to the room. Before I get into the food, I am a picky eater. I don't think it's fair to ding a resort because of food when I don't like most food. I will say the breakfast was excellent with an omelette and waffle bar as well as a selection of fruit and breads. My girlfriend is not as picky but agreed it wasn't the best food. Most days we ate at the snack bar for lunch which is opened 12-5 and then again from 11-1 AM. The food is made to order there and it can get a little busy. The biggest thing as far as the food is there are a few hours here and there where there is nothing to eat. It was easy to plan accordingly but if you were returning from an excursion, you may be waiting a bit for food. The ugly: the pools and beach closed between 5 and 6. I never tried to go into the water at the beach after they were closed so I don't know how strict they were on that. But the pools were treated so you didn't want to swim after a certain time. Your experience will likely vary on this last bit, but we were offered quite a bit of Jamaica's most famous crop while on the resort. It was likely due to my look (younger, big bushy beard wearing rasta colored glasses). Nothing too pushy. Having said that, I never felt unsafe or anything of the sort. Just more of a head's up. Again, I'm sure an elderly couple wouldn't have the same experience regarding that. I was not offended, but I know some people do not agree with ganja. But if you hate herb that much, perhaps Jamaica isn't the place for you... Again, I would rate this place 3.5 stars. I see many people have been multiple times. My GF and I agree we would go again as well. I think with a few minor improvements this amazing place could be even better.
