Great Value

Terrific beach, attentive staff, delicious food, and pleasant vibe. All-in-all a great value. Disappointed at RIU's refusal to accept dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants. Requires lining up in advance for the 6:30 and 8:00 seatings and hoping to 'get in'. We were always accommodated at the restaurant of our choice and the food and service were great but waiting in line vs arriving at an appointed time was annoying.

Do not go here! Run!

My girlfriend & I got violently ill on the first night (Saturday) from the food, which was gross. We paid to "upgrade" our room which was a joke. The "King" bed was actually 2 twins pushed together, hard as a rock. We needed to check out on Sunday due to how ill we were. We found a new hotel and Cheap Caribbean was a great help with the process. Got us a room at Couples Swept Away, HOWEVER, RIU gave us a ridiculously hard time getting a refund. Mind you, we wanted a refund for the nights we were not going to stay there. We were literally sick to our stomachs and we had to make dozens of phone calls to corporate to no avail. We then were stuck there another night because we needed the refund to pay for the other hotel and the staff was so uncooperative. The next day they still gave us a hard time, and after hours of phone calls to dozens of people they finally "released" us. It was a nightmare. We saved for this trip and the hotel should be condemned. Food was inedible, gave us fever and severe stomach distress, restaurant reservations are absurd, the beds were ancient, drinks watered down and so on. But my biggest complaint is how they treated us, without any concern for our well being. I am still trying to file a formal complaint and I am still given the run around! By the way, Couples Swept Away was amazing!! Beautiful grounds, rooms, facilities and excellent gourmet food and drink. They treat you like royalty.

It was as good as it looked in pictures

This was a great place to stay. The grounds were pretty. The service was amazing. We ate at the Steak House and the buffet. There was such a variety, I enjoyed trying new foods. They also arranged our excuristions and made sure every thing went well. The only drawback I had was they could have had better entertainment. That was lacking compared to a cruise But overall it was a very memorable trip. I would highly recommend it.

Negril Vacation was great

Our request for ground level to accommodate my wifes' recent knee surgery, was provided with no hesitation by three front desk. Absolutely no pressure the sit through a timeshare presentation. Rooms and room service was great, included a whisky bar and cold drinks in the refrigerator. All of the employees were so friendly and went out of their way to make/keep you happy. The one thing I would have liked is, during the trek from the airport to Negril, the driver or host describe/explain the History of the Island and culture. We traveled through several small towns/cities with no knowledge of where we were. Overall, the week was relaxing and we had great weather the entire time.

Birthday gift to me Beautiful sunset

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

The stunning beach with ivory, soft sands hugged by the bluest of tranquil, dreamy water.

Melting at the luscious spa, where the massages and facials transport you to Nirvana.

The outrageously delish, lip-smackin' Jamaican BBQ you can nosh on while chillaxing by the ocean.

The Victorian-style buildings bathed in happy, soft pink, which cause instant happiness.

The liquor dispenser in your room. Your hour of happy can start any time of day.

24-hour room service - if you've got a hankering for grub at 3:15 a.m., you can get it. For realz.

The bonfire and DJ on the beach - you'll feel like you're in a movie.

What We'd Change

The airport is a little over an hour from the resort, but once you get there you'll never want to leave.

Why You Should Go

You can hang out at the sister resort, which includes free access & drinks at the disco, Pacha. Woot!

There are oceans of activities for the kiddos, and even a children's playground where you can have some sandy fun.

Must-dos: Rhodes Hall Plantation for horseback riding & Roaring River for swimming in a fresh water sinkhole.

Don't miss bodyboarding, sail boats, snorkeling and/or for a fee scuba and jet skiing. Dive in.

On land, there's water polo and volleyball in the pool for your splish-splashing pleasure.

On the way home, plant yourself in Club MoBay at the airport for grub and A/C. It's so worth it.
