Def a Value!

This place has it all... great food, good drinks, and excellent service... plus FREE WI-FI! I mean, I get it.. every hotel has a couple of problems. Stuff happens, ya know? So when they have a leaky roof and the buffet is moved.. who cares. At least they're still feeding you good food. The air conditioner is ON POINT. After long humid days in the sun, you come into a frigid room. The pool is nice. Def could use a little more upkeep with the tiles, but we came after busy season, so I'm sure they had some maintenance to do. The bartenders are quick, friendly, and love to surprise you with new drinks. The entertainment was AMAZING. Brownie, Static, and the other girls were so funny and great. Def got everyone up and dancing! If you can get into the steakhouse, order the lobster or fillet. SO GOOD. The beach... man... I miss that beach. I mean I don't miss the whole "JET SKI - GOOD PRICE" in your face, but the water was perfect and they always had a seat ready for you on the white sand. All in all, I had a WONDERFUL vacation. I would recommend Sandy Toes and the Booze n Cruise for excursions. Don't forget your sunscreen!!

Great time

The facility at RIU on paradise island was great. My wife and I spend 4 nights there and could not have been happier The Bahamian people were so pleasant and accommodating. The beach was great for a nice morning walk and catching some rays. The pool was lovely. I would highly recommend taking the Sandy Toes day trip, out was well worth the $85 and a great way to get out the island (it is only a10 minute walk through Atlantis to the Marina). Food was of good quality and we had a great time.

Perfect for a quick trip to Bahamas

Enjoyed my stay at the Riu Palace. Staff was amazing, pool was large enough and never over crowded, spa was amazing. Beach was clean and enough chairs available. Only downside of beach right near public access so there is a lot of cruise ship traffic. Great location to visit the Atlantis so convenient. If I were to go back I would stay here again!

A pretty good Weekend!

The entire experience was great! The resort was immaculate. Although the lobby could use some updating, it had a old time charm (round red crushed velvet benches). We arrived before check in but was processed and given our all inclusive bracelets. We had full access to the resort and our bags were safeguarded while we explored, Complimentary drinks while we waited to be processed. After that we had access to the free wifi, the three bars, pool and jacuzzi, and of course the international buffet. After enjoying some of the all inclusive amenities, we got our room key and headed up. The room was musty (best way to describe it) but clean and fully stocked. There is a mini-fridge stocked with cans of soda and drink mixers(club soda, seltzer, tonic water). Above that are 4 full bottles of liquor (white rum, dark rum, brandy and gin, I think) all included. The room was comfortable, although we asked for a king sized bed, we got what seemed to be two doubles situated like a king size. If it was made up like one bed that would have been better. Dinner was a bit confusing at least for me. There are 4 different restaurants. A steakhouse, a gourmet cuisine, an asian fusion, and the international buffet. Apparently there are different sittings and it is done on a first come first served basis. When we registered and on the brochures in our room, it clearly says reservations. The buffet has neither and you can go there anytime. The food was good, tasty. The desserts especially the cakes were dry. Overall, it was a good variety of foods. The speciality restaurants have a fixed menu (very limited choices) and obviously not as filling. The first night we did the steakhouse. Very interesting things on the menu especially the seafood appetizers. The steak was done well; however, I found it rather small for a steakhouse cut. The last night we did the gourmet which offered more choices in a nicely appointed dining room. Again smaller portions as is the case with fine dining. The duck l'orange was excellent. The creme brulee was more like stiff pudding. Breakfast and lunch are at the buffet and offer a wide variety of foods. I was delighted when it offered curry chicken and curry goat (which is actually hard to get at caribbean resorts since they cater to europeans). On Saturday night, we went over to the Atlantis Casino. It was just next door but a bit of a walk through the neighboring hotel. Disappointing, unless you're a table games person. Slots seemed to go from one penny to one dollar and up/ Not a lot of choices. We spent most of our days at the beach or pool. A little more attention to the pool area might be in order because one of the guests, an older gentleman, was swimming in what appeared to be stained underwear which now made the pool undesirable This was also in addition to a number of toddlers swimming without waterproof diapers. No staff intervened and unless they cleaned the pool overnight, no attention was given to the matter. The beach and water were great. The local water sports and novelty vendors were polite and not intrusive. I think a bar closer to the beach or on the beach would be great. Check out was at noon and we were at the airport with time to spare. Overall an enjoyable weekend with a few areas for improvement.

The rockin' theme nights twice a week - get ready to kick it. Put on your party pants.

The unfailing, beachtastic service & attention. You'll feel like the beach royalty that you are.

What We'd Change

You may not find as many on-site activities like the other mega resorts, but the prime beachfront property makes up for it.

Why You Should Go

There's a hoppin', Vegas-style casino next door - grab sweet Lady Luck and try your hand.

The water sports (jet skis, water skiing & more) will blow you out of the water. Hang on!

You can dive into aahh-mazing excursions like swimming with the dolphins.

Atlantis next door has a great nightclub when you want to get your dance on.

The inventive entertainment staff is off-the-charts creative. They won't disappoint.
