Cheap, crowded, beach fun

Gorgeous beach views, decent dining options, some fantastic servers! Super crowded beach and pool area. Lots of trash on beach, resort needs updating. Strange bathtub shower configuration! Lovely balcony views of Cabbage Beach. Entertainment needs a do-over. Overall, okay for the price, probably wouldn't go here again, disappointing for the RIU chain, but had a nice enough time, enjoyed the amenities.

Just What I Needed

I did a 3-night stay. The resort was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were GREAT! You never have to leave the resort if you don't want. They have entertainment and activities. I wish the bed was a little softer!

Don't stay here

I must say this is the worst all inclusive resort I have stayed at. My fiancé and I wanted to try a new destination so we picked here and based on previous reviews I read on cheap Caribbean we picked the RIU palace. Also the RIU name has a good rep. We were disappointed. The staff was horrible. Not helpful, slow and money hungry. There is little to no nightlife. There is one show every night but if it doesn't interest you then you are SOL. During the day there were things done by the pool but very little. And the girl announcing it spoke so close to the microphone all you heard was loud mumbling. As far as dinner goes. You need to make reservations the morning of for dinner that night or so they say. That is a policy at mist resorts but here when you try to make reservations they say they are full through the week. How is that possible if they were following their own policy. It's not. And even though we were able to try three of the special restaurants they say they are full. But all of them had open tables that they said can't be sat. Then why are the tables there.. The beach area is quite small so it forced everyone to be all over each other. No space between people. And constant hounding by locals to rent water skis parasailing etc. the room was nice except the bed was horribly uncomfortable and the sink constantly was making bubbling noises. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every movement made. The few good things I can say. The hotel is about a 100 yards from the Atlantis and you can go there at night for fun. The ocean water is crystal clear. And they have a bottled beer available. Which is nice. Generally it is only draft. Swam with dolphins at the Atlantis totally worth it. Omelets were good in the morning. We actually ate dinner out two nights just because we knew we would get better service and the food would be good. This resort definitely makes me nervous to use cheap Caribbean again because of the misleading reviews I read. Also I'd like to add these reviews were common among everyone we met that had stayed in other all inclusive resorts.

What's to Love

All-inclusive everything: the cocktails, the grub, the utter awesomeness of it all.

Primo beachfront locale - three miles of satiny sand hugged by luscious, aquamarine water.

The Renova Spa - the massages squeeze the stress right out of your bod.

The rockin' theme nights twice a week - get ready to kick it. Put on your party pants.

Buckets of fun activities for everyone - kids, the rents, even Aunt Pat.

Krystal Fusion Restaurant - it's a journey into the unexplored terrain of epic new sensations.

The unfailing, beachtastic service & attention. You'll feel like the beach royalty that you are.

What We'd Change

You may not find as many on-site activities like the other mega resorts, but the prime beachfront property makes up for it.

Why You Should Go

There's a hoppin', Vegas-style casino next door - grab sweet Lady Luck and try your hand.

The water sports (jet skis, water skiing & more) will blow you out of the water. Hang on!

You can dive into aahh-mazing excursions like swimming with the dolphins.

Atlantis next door has a great nightclub when you want to get your dance on.

The inventive entertainment staff is off-the-charts creative. They won't disappoint.

You're close to downtown Nassau - see the old quarter, museums, zoo and botanical gardens.

Hotel Description

Riu Palace Paradise Island: All-Inclusive Bahamas Bonanza

Bahama Mama Mia does this Riu have it all. And then some. Let's start with the dreamy, three-mile stretch of silky sand, where you can chillax, get your drink on (and on - no one's counting) and ignore the world, or hit a game of beach volleyball and burn some calories. And that's just the tip of the beachberg. Toggle between the Jacuzzi at the epic pool and indulge in stress-ousting treatments at the lush spa aka Relaxation Central, or hit the slots next door and hang at the always-festive, hip bars until the sea cows come home. Is that a "yes" we hear? When might we expect you?

It's Time to Get Your Riu On.
