Solid all inclusive

Meal options are solid as any all inclusive we have been at. Rooms are a solid B+. Pretty clean, and maintained. Clean towels and hot water! Staff all friendly and smiles a plenty, drinks are easy to get. Would recommend as good as any all inclusive we have been to for the money

A great great time, couple minor issues

All in all, we absolutely loved our time there. The service was impeccable, the resort was fabulous, pool and the bartenders there was fantastic. One very minor thing I wish I knew of ahead of time was the dress code at the "fancy" restaurants. Need a collared shirt AND long pants. Found that kind of stupid. Good news is that the hotel took care of me for the pants and let me "borrow" a pair of their employee uniform pants. Worked out great! The "fancy" restaurant meals were absolutely fantastic. Super fine dining. Another thing that was slightly painful was the lack of electrical outlets in the room. Not that many at all :) So be prepared to have various electronic devices plugged in all over (Cell Phones, Tablets, etc etc) Definitely a power strip would of been helpful. Again, just a minor inconvenience. Also another thing to be aware of, You can have breakfast and lunch at the sister resorts, but not dinner. Not a big deal, just didn't understand that at first.

Awesome vacation

Beautiful resort, rooms, and partial ocean view from our room. Multiple restaurants and bars to choose from daily so you don't get tired of your options. A few minor things that I felt needed improvement were keeping the mini fridge in your room well stocked with water, you cannot drink the faucet water or brush your teeth with it and even after requesting extra water bottles we still had to call room service and wait a couple hours before it was actually brought to our room. I don't know if it's a standard practice at other resorts but I was disappointed that the pool closes at 7pm nightly, I felt that was a little early. Otherwise all in all it was an awesome experience and the staff was always helpful and courteous. Will definitely look at Riu locations in the future!

What's to Love

No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.

The teal ocean and breezy palms on the white sand of Flamingos Beach. Swoon-worthy.

RiuLand, where kiddos can get immersed in arts and crafts while you enjoy some sand 'n surf therapy.

Sipping on cocktails and watching the crazy beautiful pinky orange sunsets over the water.

The spa where you can descend into stress-smashing messages & thalassotherapy, a seawater treatment.

The in-pool loungers where you can chillax, swim around a bit, then return to work on your tan.

What We'd Change

You'll love venturing into downtown Puerto Vallarta, but keep in mind, the cruise ships generally come in on Tuesday and Thursday so it can be busier on those days.

Why You Should Go

It's just 8 miles away from the airport. Blink, and you'll be there.

Don't miss horseback riding in the Sierra Madres or swimming with the dolphins in Banderas Bay.

There's an 18-hole, championship golf course that a coconut's throw away.

Check out the bodyboarding (it's very popular), windsurfing, catamarans and more. Dive in.

On land, there's volleyball, billiards and for the flexible/bendy types, there's gymnastics.
