"Amazing vacations. The hotel is brand new so needs a little bit touch up in service, especially in cleaning the rooms. Great location!!" – monia

Great time wonderful resort every one is freindly and the show's were entertaining. This is my 6th time staying at a Riu I really enjoy staying there I have never had a problem and my grilfriends really enjoyed Punta Cana this was my second time and I would defintley go back again. I have not gone gone wrong with Cheap Caribbean everything is taken care of. The only kind of bad thing I have to say is that we booked a day with Olymous tours for a day to Saona Island the driver never said a word to us not friendly at all and when we got there they just let us stand around without telling us what was going on and how long we had to wait. There was no communication and other people that were th in the same van with us felt the same way. Other than that we had a great time.
Thank You
Very Nice place, Rooms Nice, Resort Nice, Entertainment-excellent, Pools & beach Nice---- People there were excellent!! Those are some of the most accomodating/friendly people in the Caribbean!! My problem was with the RIU Dining options. Every morning at 8 am they open the reservation line for the 4 sit down restaurants. They have 2 options, you can dine at 7 or you can dine at 9. You can only book 2 days in advance. At 8:30 am the line is starting to get long for booking. We only got to dine at 7pm once at one of the sit down restaurants (which was very nice) !! Dined at 9 pm twice at others (which were nice)...We were told that 1 of the 4 restaurants (Taino-Steakhouse) was closed Wednesday & Thursday due to a Wedding??? If you can deal with buffet dining, this is your place. We were wanting more. I've been to a few (8-10) All Inclusives & this is by far the worst dining option plan. Would gladly go back if they change their dining plan!

We would go back!!
With the exception of the weather (it rained 3 days although not all day but it brought clouds and wind) our trip was one of the better places we have stayed. The room was spacious, very clean and modern. We travelled with another couple and upon check in our rooms were on different floors. The front desk was very accomodating in changing our room so we were next to our friends. My only complaint about the front desk is that they never could change our money to smaller bills (for tipping).
The pool and beach and grounds were very well kept. We were not thrilled with the specialty restaurants. Very small portions not much option. We dined at the steak house on Valentine's day and I found the staff there to be very standofish. There is a language barrier but most of the staff tries very hard to accomodate.
Now our favotire place by far was the pool bar! Javier, Edwin, Modesto and Anna made our trip. They were entertaining, friendly and could not do enough for us! That was by far where we spent most of our time and enjoyed every minute of it.
The shows at night were ok, nothing great, but at least it was entertainment. All in all I would definately recommend this hotel!!

How much is VIP at the Punta Cana Riu Palace Bavaro?2 answers
Ive seen reviews where people upgrade to VIP- how much is it?

CheapCaribbean.com offers upgrades in room categories. Pricing to upgrade in room category does depend on the specific travel dates as it is based on availability. Any additional upgrades the resort offers would need to be done directly through them upon arrival.

Im not sure of the price difference, but I just returned from the RIU Palace bavaro and upgrading to VIP is well worth whatever the price difference is. You get a private pool and bar that are only for VIP guests. The main pool and main pools bar is too loud and crowded. It makes for a less than relaxing experience. Its nice to have the option of going to the more quiet VIP pool and bar if need be.

Riu Palace Bavaro: A Punta Cana Playground
Going on vacation is all about living the good life, and families get the royal treatment without breaking the bank at Riu Palace Bavaro in Punta Cana. This resort, the latest addition to the Riu complex, is a chic, ultra-modern jewel right on the sunny sand of Arena Gorda. Three-story villas shaded by vibrant gardens are home to 610 suites, each with stylish d?cor and liquor dispensers so you can get the party started right.
A huge stretch of palm-dotted beach hosts the best parties on Arena Gorda. Just pull up a lounger and clink Coronas. Kids can prowl the shore for starfish while grown-ups chat up new friends and chill under palm trees. Three pools are party central during the day; kids swim up a storm in their own pool, while adults can paddle up to the swim-up bar for margaritas. When it's time to chow down, five restaurants bring it! Try fancy fusion at Krystal, sample fresh sushi at Geisha, slurp up spaghetti at La Bambola or cut into a juicy steak at Taino. After dark, families can enjoy one of the coolest parts of the Riu complex: awesome shows and nightly entertainment. Couples can hit up four bars. We recommend saving some time for late-night fun at La Fiesta Lounge.
Kids ready to run wild? Take the family sailing, snorkel through the deep or grab some kayaks and paddle a spell. When it's time to rekindle the romance, drop the kids off for sandcastle contests and relay races at the Kid's Club, and check out the casino at Riu Palace Macao or de-stress with a hot stone massage at the full-service spa.
After a sun-drenched day, head back to your Garden View Junior Suite Superior and pour yourself a double from the liquor dispenser. Grown-ups can unwind on the sofa while the kids drift off in one of the comfy beds. If you want more room and an outrageous private Jacuzzi on the balcony or terrace, spring for the Junior Suite Jacuzzi Superior.
