package was too good to be true
The Hotel is beautiful but it was packed to capacity so it was crowded and very noisy. Dining was an ordeal because of all the people. The beds were very uncomfortable and the drinks were bad.
The Riu Jalicso is a beautiful resort on an amazing beach. The food was delicious and the service was great. My only complaint is that there was no adult only area. I have never seen so many children. It is a great family resort but not the place for people without kids. There were 2 pools, one for kids. More kids were in the other pool. They are running crazy through the dining rooms. If you have kids this is the place to go.
We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. The staff was wonderful, helpful and very friendly. The evening entertainment was outstanding. The entertainment staff did a wonderful job with all the children's activities and including as many children that wanted to be included. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

Room Information
700 guestrooms in a six-story, elaborately decorated Spanish/Moorish building featuring a lobby with a bright-pink fountain courtyard and yellow-and-gray arches and a roof ornamented with blue-and-white-tile pyramids. Balconies and ground-floor terraces furnished with chairs and cocktail tables provide garden views. Decor and furnishings include pastel walls, tile floors, marble bathrooms with twin-sink granite vanities, and chairs and tables. Wood-paddle ceiling fans offer an alternative to rooms and suites' air-conditioning. Minibars are stocked with beer, soft drinks, and water. Each room is also equipped with satellite TV, telephone, hair dryer, and in-room safe ($).
The gorgeous stretch of beach is a real winner here. Families spend all afternoon on Playa de Flamingos and stick around for dramatic, dazzling sunsets.
What We'd Change
Since it's located in Nuevo Vallarta, it's a bit of a drive to the shopping and sights in downtown Puerto Vallarta. But most families never want to leave.
