Avoid at all costs

We spent six days at Punta Cana Princess, and it was one of the worst experiences of our lives. The food was horrendous, the room smelled of smoke, the bed was very uncomfortable, and the beaches were public. To top it off we had money stolen from my wife's purse in our room the last day we were there. We're confident it was taken by housekeeping. We filed a report with the resort, and after five days we were told the investigation turned up nothing. No attempt was made to make us whole. I've never been so happy to come home from a vacation. It has sincerely ruined our perspective of Punta Cana and International travel.

Still Fun

I booked this trip with friends for my 30th birthday. The staff at CheapCaribbean were really awesome! They made a complicated booking very easy. However, the resort was just ok. I only had been on one other vacation to an all-inclusive in Riviera Maya. This resort fell short in comparison. Travel to and from the resort was well organized, and the lobby was quite beautiful on arrival. Our rooms looked very nice, but throughout the days there, I realized how unclean they were. I found stained sheets on by friend's room next door and on mine. It was clear the floors and walls weren't cleaned very well. I saw stains, dirt, mold, and even some stuff that looked like blood. They rooms were just cleaned enough to look clean upon arrival. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. My friend had issues with their room. They did not have working air conditioner for two nights. When they were moved, they got a room that had a moldy smell and we found mold on the ceiling. She had to tell about three different people about it before they took a look. I don't know if they did anything. We were very excited about the all-inclusive bar, but the alcohol they have everywhere is all a Tremols brand I had never heard of. The alcohol was terrible and all tasted like banana. I even saw them poor 'Jose Cuervo' on the rocks, but it still tasted like banana. I think they just refilled the bottles. Also, the dining options weren't great. The food was very mediocre and they often used underripe vegetables. Two of them were closed one night and we were left with the mediocre buffet and restaurants at the sister resort next door we needed 24-hour reservations for. The staff was mostly friendly, but we had a lot of pushy sales people associated with the resort that were pretty relentless. We started acting like we didn't speak much Spanish. There were also a few staff members that were pretty suggestive and made us feel uncomfortable. I know this sounds like I'm bashing the place, but I am really not. We had a wonderful time, and the beaches were beautiful warm, sandy, and rock-free. There were a few wait staff that really went out of their way to be friendly and go the extra mile, but it wasn't everyone. I was used to this amazing resort in Mexico, and I was disappointed I just didn't stick with what I knew. I just wanted to give a good picture of what to expect. A review I wish I had prior to booking this resort.

Good Value for the money

the resort was awesome. clean well kept and the staff was friendly. The beach was nice but full of seaweed. Although the workers worked for several hours to clear it, they couldn't keep up. The food was mediocre. The restaurants other than the buffet never changed their menu so it was the same thing everyday. As far as our room wen.. the first room we stayed in was fine but didn't seem to cool down properly. The temperature setting is in Celsius. It would not drop below 28 Celsius which is 82 Fahrenheit. We complained and they offered to switch us rooms, we took advantage of it. The next room didn't drop below 24.5 degrees Celsius which is still extremely hot. Made it hard to sleep or cool down.

Hotel Description

Punta Cana Princess: Luxury Hotel, Nick Price Golf, Spa, Casino and More!

Don't you think it's time to steal away for a little "me time?" With 263 luxury suites resting atop lush vegetation on luminescent white beaches, the Punta Cana Princess All Suites Resort & Spa offers adults-only, all inclusive luxury on the dazzling eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. The hotel is also home to the Punta Blanca Golf Course, designed by Nick Price. The 18-hole, par 72 course is set in the natural wetlands and bunkers of the Dominican Republic and promises challenges and rewards for golfers at all levels.

The Punta Cana Princess is a hotel that knows no limits when it comes to beauty and rests on a pristine white sand beach. Complimentary waiter service ensures that the cocktail of your choice is delivered right to your sun lounger as you laze the days away beneath a shady palapa--when you aren't in the Jacuzzi, that is. The beach boasts a mini spa section with its own Jacuzzi and a sauna right on the sand! When sand's not your game, snag a sun lounger poolside at the on-site freshwater pool or at any of the other three pools in the Princess resort complex.

With five on-site dining options, the hotel offers guests delectable choices when it comes to dinner. Opt for the a la carte seafood fare of Mare Nostrum, Tex-Mex steak at Rio Grande or elegant Swiss delicacies at Le Petite Fondue. Areito Discotheque offers free admission for all guests looking to shake their tail-feathers late into the evening, and a casino offers thrills even later. Live entertainment is also available at a number of on-site venues.

Sporty visitors enjoy sighting up a bull's-eye on the archery range or vying for match point on one of two tennis courts. If active relaxation is more what you had in mind, Metamorphosis Spa offers sensory nirvana with a variety of treatments, including hydromassage.

Retiring to a Platinum Suite can be its own adventure with a private balcony, premium-brand liquors in your room and nightly turndown service. An extra touch of island class greets guests upon arrival, too--a fruit basket and cigars are waiting to welcome you to paradise.
