Room Information
209 guestrooms in a five-story building with red tile roofs adding a colonial-Mexican note. Most rooms feature balconies or ground-floor terraces. White walls, ceilings, and tile floors create a cool ambience brightened by tropical-colored fabrics and orange Mayan symbols sculpted on walls over beds' heads. Each room is equipped with mini bar and liquor dispenser, satellite TV, in-room safe, air-conditioning, coffee maker, hair dryer, and iron with ironing board. Cribs are available upon request. Two rooms for the physically challenged are available on request and located in the Superior Deluxe Partial Ocean View room category.

CONCIERGE LEVEL ROOMS: include everything from the all inclusive package plus ocean front room with a king bed, two 25 minute massages (per stay), private check-in / check-out , late check out / Early check-in (subject to availability), exclusive concierge phone service, upgraded brand of liquors in room dispensers, guaranteed nightly turn down service, nightly petit-fours, espresso machine, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, pillow menu, aromatherapy, L'Occitane En Provence body care products.

GOLF / SPA PACKAGE ROOMS: include one round of golf OR one select spa treatment per adult/per night. Golf/Spa package is interchangeable and can be used in any combination once per day (number of green fees and select spa treatments are based on number of nights booked). Rounds of golf include transportation to and from the golf courses, beverages, snacks, and shared cart.
Available spa treatments included in this golf/spa package are: Aroma Reflexology (50 min), Sport Massage (50 min), Zen Shiatsu (50 min), Invigorating Leg and Foot Massage (25 min) plus Refresher Facial (25 min), Face, Head, and Shoulder Accupressure (25 min) plus Refresher Facial (25 min), and Body Scrub (25 min) plus Manicure or Pedicure (25 min).

Unused rounds of golf or spa treatments for any reason, including weather conditions, are non-refundable and no rain checks will be provided. Golf/Spa package is non-transferrable. Stays that combine golf/spa and non-golf/spa rates are only allowed to book included tee times and spa services during the dates of the golf/spa rate period.

NOTE: Golf/Spa package is not included in child or junior rate. Children ages 13-17 must be booked as adults in order to receive the golf/spa package. Select spa services apply for children ages 13-17 but they do not have access to the Hydrotherapy area. An adult MUST accompany children ages 13-15 for the duration of the treatment.

Tee times and spa treatments are subject to space and availability and can be reserved 90 days prior to arrival. Tee times can be pre-arranged at teetimes@palaceresorts.com and Spa reservations can be pre-arranged at elitetoursinfo@palaceresorts.com. This newly renovated hotel offers very comfortable rooms and nice restaurant options right at the foot of 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen.
What We'd Change
There isn't much beach here to speak of but the ferry to Cozumel is right next door as is 5th Avenue - a pedestrian street full of shops, restaurants and bars.

The casual, Mexican-Caribbean Playacar Palace attracts families and couples seeking a comfortable base from which to explore Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, and the Riviera Maya. Playa del Carmen's 5th Avenue, a mile-long promenade of shops and restaurants, begins roughly two blocks away.

The resort features a free-form swimming pool (including a shallow children's section) running 200 feet along the oceanfront. Lounges and beach umbrellas line the pool's surrounding sundeck. Steps down from the pool deck, the beach extends 100 yards north to the Cozumel ferry terminal and for miles south and is furnished for a 50-yard stretch by the resort's umbrellas and cushioned lounges. To reach the Cozumel ferry terminal, guests can wind their way from the resort's entrance through an adjacent shopping center.

A beauty shop offers massage and facials as well as waxing, hair braiding, and hair and nail care. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throught the property. The hotel's staff speaks fluent English and the hotel purifies its water.
