Dominican Vacation
This hotel is advertised as Punta Cana, but is not actually in Punta Cana. The resort is nice, however the consierges are pushy and forceful in trying to get one to buy a timeshare. Overall the resort is nice, the beach is on the Atlantic Ocean side not the Carribbean side. Also there was a lot of seaweed that wasn't cleaned up from the beach.
The food was sub-par and Americanized. Was expecting more cultural and ethnic food.
Wait staff and cleaning staff excellent.
My 7 day stay lasted just two days. The problems were not all related to the resort.
I needed to cut short my stay in Punta Cana due to a medical emergency at home. I could not get out of PC on my ticketed airline because they had no seats available (each flight I took was over-booked). The only seat available to me was on another airline for the price $1200.00 one-way. I also had to purchase a $30.00 cab ride because the Tour company (Turinto) was no longer doing business with Cheap Carribean and I needed to get out ASAP due to the emergency at home. (Do not have an emergency in a third-world country where language is problematical!!!)
I left my companions at the Paridius only to find out they went without hot water for 1 1/2 days (a five star resort).
Again, the venue is spectacular. Food is good, not great. The shows at night were entertaining and the staff was pleasant and they tried hard to please. Logistics and cold water were a problem.
Check-in was a VERY long process. Two men worked the 2 computers and the young girls stood around "assisting". None of the girls spoke English, not even a little. Even though I paid for the entire trip, the male on our trip was catered to. Our questions were ignored and barely any eye contact was made. We then were sent to the reservation desk so we could make dinner reservations for the 5 days we were there. Most of the restaurants were booked for the first 3 nights, leaving us VERY LITTLE CHOICE. Our first night meal at Aqua was awful. Although service was good, as everyone wants a tip, the food was terrible. Actually the best meal of the day was the breakfast at the Mixed Grill. The beach was nice, the room was beautiful , the gardens were exceptional and the Dominican people are very nice. I did not think the vacation was worth the cost. I was disappointed in not being able to make dinner res. thus having no choice or chance to experience the variety of restaurants. I was very disappointed that we were not told to do this ahead of time. We brought 400 in cash for 5 days and spent approx. 300 just on tips. We knew the people are poor but worked very hard and long and we appreciated that.
The ocean water was cooler than Aruba and Turks and Caicos and filled with a lot of seaweed. The pool was one of the largest I have ever seen and was beautiful. There were always enough pool chairs and cabanas. I also had a good massage on the beach which was not expensive. I don't know if I would stay here again... it wasn't worth the money.

Do you have any all inclusive deals with out airfare?

Dave
You may book any of our all-inclusive properties either as a land/air package or as resort only. Booking as a resort only reservation still allows you to take advantage of the resort's all inclusive package, for example, all meals, beverages and gratuities included as well as many other amenities. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that when you book a land/air package the resort part of that package is discounted considerably more than when booking a resort only trip. You may book a trip using one of our experienced Destination Specialists or when booking online you may price out a land package on our website by selecting the Hotel Only tab in the orange Create Your Own Vacation box.

The resort sits on a gorgeous, uncrowded section of Bavaro Beach, which never disappoints. Kicking back on a Bali bed at the GABi Beach Club is paradise, indeed!
What We'd Change
It's true that the resort is pretty spread-out and requires a good bit of walking. But the landscaping is lush and extra space means crowding is not an issue.

Paradisus Palma Real: Punta Cana and Beautiful Bavaro Beach
Get ready for a Dominican Republic retreat right on the photo-ready sands of Bavaro Beach at Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana. Paradise comes to life on the lush, tropical grounds of this all-suite resort. The knockout combo of a great kids' program and the exclusive, adults-only Royal Service suites makes the all inclusive resort a hot commodity for couples and families. From its beachfront location to YHI Spa and deluxe amenities, guests enjoy a vacation in paradise at Paradisus Palma Real.
Other Punta Cana beaches can't hold a candle to the beauty of Bavaro Beach, and the gentle surf lets parents sit back while teens and tots frolic in the blue water. Royal Service guests rave about the Bali beds at GABi Beach Club, and the submerged loungers in the main pool are the perfect spot for enjoying mango daiquiris from the swim-up bar. Foodies are in for a real treat at the seven dining options where the dishes look as good as they taste. From lobster risotto with yummy truffle oil at GABi Beach Club to fisherman pasta at Aqua that's swimming in shrimp, calamari and mussels, the fresh fare fills guests right up.
Kick it into high gear with the all inclusive watersports: take the family out for a sail or paddle out and spot sea life in a kayak. Kids still earning their sea legs? No worries, the 7,800-sq-ft Kids Zone has you covered with supervised activities like a climbing wall, mini-disco, Onyx, and water slides at the kids-only pool. With the kids taken care of, the complimentary greens fees at the 18-hole Cocotal Golf and Country Club, designed by Jose "Pepe" Gancedo, are yours for the taking! Still working on that golf swing?
Long days lead to quiet nights, so the Deluxe Suite with a Garden View suits couples and families who play all day and crave much needed shut-eye. The Jacuzzi for two and fully stocked mini bar keep everyone happy, and 24-hour room services takes care of the late night munchies. Now that's what vacation is all about!
