Great trip!

We (three girlfriends) stayed at Paradisus in early March for 4 nights, 5 days. We intentionally chose this location (farther from the marina and downtown) and the slightly higher price range so we could avoid the college-age spring breakers. That was probably the best decision of the entire trip. :) The resort is still fun, yet classy, and void of gnarly spring break partiers. But before going deeper into the awesome parts, I’ll start with some of the funk, since there’s less of that and more of the awesome to talk about later. So, the funk: We were definitely bummed to learn that there is not a jacuzzi - that might be the only thing that would send us to another property in the future. It would have been nice to start off the morning and close out the day in a jacuzzi (which we just assumed would be there). When we asked one of the managers about it, we were told that there was not a jacuzzi yet, but they are going to be installing one...we wondered if they just told us that to appease us in the moment or if there are real plans for one…? Another funky thing is that the property music (which is piped EVERYWHERE) cannot be turned up/down or changed. We were told that all the Melia properties have the same music running and it’s all controlled somewhere in Madrid. It would have been nice to have had something other than electronic music playing - maybe some acoustic/beachy vibes for the morning and afternoons. And then maybe some music you can dance to at night at Gabi. The awesome: The decor has a bit of a mid-century bent, which we loved. Classy, chic, and hip. We stepped off our airport shuttle to attendants who gave us cool refreshing wash cloths in exchange for our luggage. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk was very helpful in answering our questions. The room was very nice, and spacious (and we were stoked to find the in-room Nespresso machine and pods!). For evening dining we enjoyed Mole and The Market Grill the most. Mole was probably our favorite when it came to food and service! Our experience at Bana was just so-so; it was the noisiest of all the dining experiences, and the service/food wasn’t amazing. For lunch we enjoyed the pool/beach-side menu; we stuck mostly to the burger, ceviche, and guacamole - all of which were delicious. The pool is beautiful and the swim up bar is a fun extra. We ended almost every night at the Avenue Bar around the gorgeous fire pit. Major extra props to Fernando with the activities crew and Carlos down on the beach. These guys definitely helped to make our time memorable. Some of the wait staff in the restaurants (Market Grill and Bana, specifically) could probably use more training - we had some interesting wait times and awkward moments with some of those servers. Other than that, an overall awesome time. The last thing that sets this resort apart is the fact that it actually has swimmable beach access. We learned that many of the resorts in the area are on beaches that have dangerous rips, so we were stoked to be able to enjoy the beautiful ocean. All in all, a great time! And we do look forward to coming back...hopefully to a resort with a jacuzzi… :)

Wonderful Stay

Everything was wonderful from Day 1 when we arrived. We arrived and were greeted with champagne. Our check in was very quick and we were in our room within 5 minutes of arriving. Our room was a garden view and it overlooked the Cabo Real Golf Gourse. The beds were comfortable, the room was decent sized and the bathroom had a large walk in shower. The pool was never crowded and the service was excellent at the pool. The beach had a small area sectioned off to swim in where the current wasn't as strong. All of the food was excellent. The Asian restaurant was the best in my opinion. Service at the restaurants was great also. Some of the features like the spa were not open yet. They had a very nice fitness room. We did not attend any of the activities but they did feature a different activity every night. My only complaint is that the sand on the beach was very uncomfortable to walk on. It was very rough and quite a long walk to the water. Overall everything at this resort is wonderful. It was quiet and not crowded at all which I enjoyed. I would recommend this to anyone!

Luxury

This was my 4th excursion from the U.S. and I must say this was the best yet. The staff was amazing in their attention to detail and kindness. The sensory details from the smells to the music in the background was so relaxing. The food was awesome at every location we ate, never had a bad meal. They even arranged a couples dinner at the last minute for 4 of us overlooking the beach on our last night there. AWSOME!! The pool guys and help all remembered our names and what we liked to drink. It was my birthday weekend and everyone was so attentive from a personalized cake plate at breakfast to another cake in my room when we returned from partying that day. It was way cool of them to be so kind, I want to say more but you really have to experience it for yourself. Luxury at its best.
