A bit disappointed but still enjoyed the resort

It's a nice resort and good service but.... Due to a couple of workers on the driveway one evening, we were left off at the bottom of the entrance hill and had to walk up almost half a mile uphill after a 13 hour day of walking many miles at Tulum and Xelha. And they have a golf cart but refused to use it. Even if new guests were checking in, they would have to carry their luggage up the hill. The front desk staff didn't care in the least.. The person responsible for this decision should be fired. Very bad form! When we checked in they did not have connecting rooms for our young teenagers as we requested when making our plans so we had to upgrade for $400 per night to the presidential suite and the first two nights we had 2 roll-in beds. Beautiful room but a big expense that we didn't plan on. And the kids had to sleep on small roll-ins which was disappointing to start their long awaited vacation.. Bad form! The small outdoor buffet for lunch near the kids pool was horrible. I noticed that the resort was offering $550 per room in resort coupons but Cheap Caribbean could not honor the hotel deal. Although I did inquire and secure them on my own directly with the hotel. The food offering was good but the quality was average at best. We all got Montezuma's Revenge but we may have gotten it from the water park buffet. No ride to the water sports on the bay side makes for a long hot aggravating walk Although there were some bad points overall it's a nice resort with good service and the food was just okay.. We didn't let these things affect our happiness and enjoyed our vacation. We liked the full room service breakfasts. Great Beaches. Beautiful ocean but it was very rough when we were there. The long beautiful vines in the central atrium were spectacular! But I'd probably try another resort next time.

Paridisus

The resort is beautiful. Staff were all so very polite and helpful. Food was very good with several choices. Place was very clean. My complaint is with the transportation and the check in process. I know it is Mexico but the process of getting to the representative for the shuttle service was done by being pointed another employee to another employee. Placed on a line that zigzagged through hundreds of people at the airport. At times you followed the person in front of you who was not supposed to be on line. That took you out of the line. Then told they would be right with you and it took 20 minutes to be spoken to again. I have to small children and having to wait 4 minutes to be told where you shuttle van was is unacceptable. The resort has to stop trying to harass you into a time share. We were asked a half dozen times. The first upon checking in. We told the woman yes just to get her off our backs. As she escorted us to the restaurant area as we waited for our room to be ready, our 22 month old got his hand stuck in the elevator door as he stuck his hand out as the doors opened. My wife and I take full responsibility because kids are kids and it happened in a second. But of course the woman not once in the next days asked how he was doing. Just begged me to convince my wife to attend the 90 minute breakfast. He had just a bit of bruising but again the presentation was more important. Also the check in area had about 8 people working but for some reason, there were four lanes, not all were helping customers. I have never waited a half hour to check in at any hotel and I am a frequent vacation traveler. At least twice a year to an island.

Great beach

Stayed in an ocean view jr suite. Not bad but AC had trouble cooling. Very hot and humid at the time. Had to leave curtains closed during the day to keep heat out and this made room much better. Restaurants were good for the most part. Buffet had several different choices but had trouble keeping food hot. The lobby was beautiful with all the trees and vines growing in them but you have to sacrifice AC in all the hotel except restaurants and rooms which made it a little uncomfortable to walk from one part to another. Overall it was nice and relaxing. The nightly entertainment was fantastic. The pool and beach were amazing and overall I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
