Stayed in August--First visit to the Island Arrival: No transportation is offered from the hotel but a "taxi" is easily found right out of the airport. Although I requested early check in that was not honored( as we all know it's subject to the departing visitors and such). Greeted with a small bottle of cold water, nice touch. I'm accustomed to islands greeting you with rum punch or fruit punch but something cold is great. I had plans on going to the Thursday Fish Fry but since the room was not ready and a part of my party wanted to eat we ate at the Seaside Cafe. Room was ready by the time we finished. First impression of the room/suite: Pleasantly surprised, I think the pictures on Trip Advisor and their own site are an accurate vision. Everything appeared to be clean. I think this was my first hotel suite stay (cruise suite is very different), if not the first one in a very long time. I was impressed. View: I think this room and the other 2 or 3 similar are the best bets. The rooms directly below have the pool view but I don't think they get the great ocean view as the higher one. There was another floor above but being that there is no elevator, I thought this was perfect! Beach: There were plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. The paddle board and kayak are a great amenity but the hotel about 2 doors down had these Hobie Cats that I think would be the best addition ever! There were life vests and towels available as well. There was water available (I would caution against it my father felt a little ill after having water--wondering if the vessel gets sanitized to keep it mold free--things that hold water are more prone to this). The young men that worked the beach area were very friendly and helpful! Sand was beautiful, water was great and near the buoy/ rope area there are snorkeling sights. Cafe: Small menu, little variety, great taste, TOO EXPENSIVE! Front Desk: Everyone there was helpful and friendly! There is a computer available to print out boarding passes or itineraries. Shuttle: GREAT thing to have the shuttle between Ocean Club West and Ocean Club! The drivers were very friendly as well! WiFi: Original instructions didn't work but called down to front desk and it was resolved. TV: Didn't work 1 day, no big issue. Bugs: Something fell behind the "dresser" by the sofa bed, moved it a little and there were a million little bugs. Noticed there were also by the mirror over the sofa bed. THANK GOD I brought bug spray with me! Overall, I had a great stay met 2 wonderful couples( Kentucky--regular island and OCW visitors and Long Island-first time visitors)

You wont be disappointed

If you are looking for a nice place to stay with ready access to one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, book a vacation at Ocean Club West now. The grounds and pool areas are lush, tropical and very well maintained. My stay there was the first week in August and there was no problem with the resort being crowded. There were always open chairs at the pool and on the beach itself. Ready access to beach towels. There was a nice mix of people staying there so you'll feel comfortable if you are younger, older, with or without kids. 10 minute easy walk to off site shops, restaurants and Graceway Gourmet IGA grocery store. Some sticker shock there as you might expect. In general, I found prices there 2-3x from what I normally pay. Ocean Club West is a little older than nearby resorts, but as stated, well maintained. The kitchen in my unit was well stocked with pots/plans and typical small appliances. Having a washer dryer in the unit was a great convenience. (Laundry detergent/ dishwasher powder were supplied). One of my few criticisms would be that the internet connection was spotty.and slow about 50% of the time. I would stay there again for sure and cant wait to back,

Great Vacation

The room we stayed in was great, just a few minor things I would change (the tub spout in the bath didn't work. You could only shower). The full kitchen allowed us to purchase groceries and bring home leftovers. This was a great feature as food is so expensive on the island. The balcony was screened in and overlooked the ocean and pool- perfect for relaxing. As we visited during the off season, the resort wasn't extremely crowded. Plenty of beach space, umbrellas, and chairs to share. They do have kayaks and stand up paddle boards you can use. The resort is within walking distance to stores and restaurants. You can also borrow a bike from the office if you prefer. If you are feeing brave you can rent a car from a local agency. It was interesting driving on the left hand side of the road. We booked several excursions through other companies and really enjoyed ourselves. There is only one beachside restaurant area at this location. Food was decent, not a huge variety. We also ventured over to Ocean Club (the day we went Opus was closed) and their bar and grill was essentially the same thing. Overall, we had a great time and would love to visit again some day.

Good bang for your buck.

Ocean club west was a great place to stay. Our unit was ocean front and nicely updated. Great screened porch and very quite and private. Grounds were spotless and pool very nice. The beaches were AMAZING!!! Taxi are very expensive so having been able to walk to grocery store and restaurants from this resort was a huge perk. Would definitely stay here again.

Ocean Club West: Escape to Fun in the Sun

When you're looking for a great vacation deal that includes smooth, sapphire water, sweet Caribbean winds and two beautiful facilities for the price of one, look no further than Ocean Club West in Turks and Caicos. This 64-suite, all-condo resort shares privileges with its sister resort, Ocean Club, located just up world-famous Grace Bay Beach.

Relax by the spectacular free-form pool where waterfalls, bridges and a barbecue grill area add to the tropical vibe. Or, stroll out to beautiful Grace Bay Beach where 12 miles of beach beg you to sink your toes into the sugar-white sand. With complimentary beach chairs, towels and toys for the kids, all you need to remember to bring are your shades and a good book from the resort's extensive book and DVD library.

When hunger strikes, try the Seaside Cafe. Located between the beach and the pool, the cafe features a unique Conch Bar where the island delicacy is served in several delicious ways. For more upscale digs and delicious vino, take the complimentary shuttle to Ocean Club for an evening at Opus Wine Bar and Grill.

If you would rather dive than kick back, Ocean Club West features an on-site dive shop, Provo Turtle Divers. Let the oldest PADI-certified dive shop on the island introduce you to the cool and colorful world of coral reefs and clownfish with either full-out, multi-day scuba classes or an afternoon of snorkeling. Prefer recreation of the on-dry-land variety? The Provo Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course, holds a four-star rating from Golf Digest. Other land-based activities include shopping at Ocean Club West Plaza or Ports of Call Shopping Center and free bicycles for a spin around the island.

If you're feeling saucy enough to tempt Lady Luck, Casablanca Casino is a short walk down Grace Bay Beach and features 12 gaming tables to test your prowess. Looking for relaxation of a different kind? Make way for ultimate luxury at Spa Tropique, where the Water Lily Wrap is sure to release any remaining stress.
