Can't Wait To Go Back!!
Overall the Ocean Blue Resort was well maintained & a great value. The rooms could have been a little nicer. But for the little amout you spend in them & worked just fine! Can't wait to go back! The employees were awesome! Made you feel like kings & queens!
The room was good sized and ok. The coffee pot stopped working after day 2 and I called to replace it and they came with another that was also broken - kept making loud noises. The beds were comfortable but our maid forgot a blanket one night - just made it up with sheets. The bathroom was ok - the glass shoewr door had to be propped closed with a wash cltoh and the water pressure was almost non existant. Taking a shower (most times twice a day) was the worst part of the trip. It was a beautiful island, with great pools and nice exterior hotel. The inside of the rooms (see baove) were not great. Punta Cana I would recommend, but not this hotel.
Lost the first and last day due to travel connections and bad airport directions. No signs and areas to be picked up at. No wheelchairs for handicapped people or accommodations. When you request a disabilities friendly room, they put you in a walk up second story room which has no elevators. You have to walk to the beach, a far distance, to get a towel to use by the pool area and at the end return it back to the beach. The food was close to inedible and they did not know the published dress codes. After speaking to someone for 20 minutes the same person when asked to do something or give info does not speak English. The rain was terrible. The buffet could not even get a functional toaster. Water was dripping to the food areas hours after the rain onto the food preparation area, very unsanitary. The shuttles were impossible for a handicapped person to get on by themselves because of the massive steps that had to be taken. Nothing satisfactory was done to alleviate the diabolical. The transfers were horrendous. Never again! Aruba next time! D.R. NEVER!

Spring Break 2012
We came with our high school senior as part of a larger group of families for the annual migration from Michigan. It was as expected, a beautiful setting but overflowing with teenagers on thier first legal drinking binge. The place is big enough to stay away from most of the mayhem if you want.
The resort is beautifully maintained with a helpful staff. Language was rarely a barrier, but a little spanish would be helpful. The dining options give you variety and the food is generally good but not great. We did not try the $40/person seafood restaurant.

We just got back from Montego Bay Jamaica and we stayed at the RIU, which is all inclusive. We also have 3 teenagers and they loved it. It's safe, there is plenty for them to do and we did it on a budget as well.

my wife and 3 year old visited this resort 3 years ago and the property and service was excellent. by far the best resort that we have stayed at for less than $500/ night. the beach/pool are really close together and convenient. most rooms aren't ocean/beach view though.

I had lengthy conversations with Dominican workers, taxi drivers, etc. while in Punta Cana -- they say the "Hard Rock" is the place to go- considered above the rest! My friends just returned from spending a week there - they said it was awesome!

Sorry we went there for the golf too. But there is no gulf now. They had a storm and its out of service for now. But there are some not far from the resort. They should take the golf out if they don't have it available.
mspizza10
not here go to aruba.

Ocean Blue does not have the best golf course is dry and grass relatively sparse - apparently you need to head to another of the resorts. All else is great, though.

Ocean Blue Resort, Punta Cana: Get Ready to Double Down
If life feels like one long day after another, give yourself permission to check out the magnificent Ocean Blue Golf And Beach Resort. Two resorts, Ocean Blue and Ocean Sand, mean twice the activities of an average resort, offer dining and luxury for every one of their guests with access to both resorts. Each resort houses half of the combined 728 superb suites with private Jacuzzis and VIP concierge service.
Located along the lush Dominican Republic's Punta Cana, this all inclusive dreamboat offers water activities, such as snorkeling, windsurfing and scuba diving, plus unique ways to see the sights, including a cool beachfront climbing wall. Float under swaying palm trees in the quiet pool or order a margarita and join the party at the other pool's swim-up bar. When you've had enough water fun, channel your inner Robin Hood at the archery range, shoot pool like Minnesota Fats, or peddle like Lance Armstrong on a bike.
If you're feeling in need of pampering, relax at Ocean Spa, then grab an Irish Coffee at Mike's, the coffeehouse at Ocean Blue Resort in Punta Cana. Fully caffeinated and ready to go, cash in at the Ocean Tower Casino, or strike out with the family at the bowling alley. If bowling balls aren't your cup of tea, splurge a little and grab a tee-time at nearby White Sands Golf Course, an 18-hole course designed by Spanish golf great, Jose "Pepe" Gancedo.
Guests can have their taste buds tickled with a smattering of delicious dining options from El Bodegon's Spanish tapas, to Route 66's 1950s diner, to La Casa de Mi Abuela's traditional Dominican fare. Dine where you like, when you like, with no reservations needed. And for those who really rock around the clock, you can play the night away at the resort's Wave Disco Bar. So if you just can't stop... you don't have to at Ocean Blue Golf And Beach Resort, where it's all inclusive, all of the time.
