For the price it was worth it

So although I would not recommend this place it is not bad. I personally would not go back, unless I went with the same group of people we had a great time!! The pros: great price which includes airfare, I could not pass it by. They had old but such cute bikes to go from the cheap resort (Lite) to the better resort (the grand)--love this concept. The food was not bad and they had top shelf alcohol that they used only if you asked though. The cons: the room...it has a funny odor and no balcony with one tiny window. Silliness. You have to pay extra for wifi and to use the safe, just craziness!! The beach: I can't tell you how many times I stubbed my toe on rocks on the bottom of the ocean. The beach (from water to chairs) was short. Lots of seaweed. Only saw one swim up bar. The gym sucked and the treadmills were not working and the bikes felt like they would fall apart...the probit made me work out on the beach with the sun rise. :-) The resaurants: the food was actually good for a resort and that is rare. The problem was you had to make reservations at 4pm. You would have to stand in at 4 and then they would be gone by 4:05. Part of our party showed up for a reservation at 6:30 and some were late 6:45 and they would not seat us. Meanwhile while the next night they were late sitting us. Who wants to leave the beach and be somewhere get a reservation. And forget it if you don't have one....it will be buffet for you. Overall not bad but some things to improve. The staff was very friendly.

ITS A CALM RESORT

THEY DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO MY REQUEST FOR LOWER FLOOR. NO EVLAVATOR AT THE LITE RESORT. SO THE ROOM THEY GAVE ME HAD TWO BLINKING/FALSHING LIGHTS EVERY NIGHT, SHOWER BACK UP. BUT THEY DID FIX. U HAVE TO SLEEP WITH AIR ON OR THE FLOOR WILL SWEAT AND IF U WAKE TO USE BATHROOM THE FLOOR IS WET AND U WILL SLIP LIKE WE DID SEVERAL TIMES, WHEN I TOLD THEM THEY SAID WE HAD TO SLEEP WITH AIR ON WHICH GOT VERY COOL AT NIGHT. THAT WAS AWFUL I WAS STUFFED UP EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT. ALSO IF U ARE LOOKING FOR MUSIC TO PLAY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. VERY QUIET AT ALL THE SWIM-UP BARS AND AT THE JAQUZZI. I WAS TOLD I DID NOT READ THE SMALL PRINT FOR "CALM RESORT". SO THATS MY FAULT. ALSO THE MAIN RESTAURANT IF U DONT TIP U WILL WAIT ON YOUR DRINKS WITH YOUR DINNER. I FOUND THAT OUT WITH ADVICE FROM ANOTHER GUEST. AT BREAKFAST I WANTED AN ORANGE JUICE HE TOLD ME I CAN GET THAT INSIDE, BUT THE OTHER SERVICER BROUGHT ANOTHER GUEST THEIR ORANGE JUICE. I ASKED FOR ICE WATER AND DID NOT GET IT. SERVICE SUCKED IN MAIN DINING AREA. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A NICE PLACE. TOOOOO QUIET FOR ME. MAYBE NOT FOR U. TRY IT

Worst Vacation Ever ! run from this place

I rarely write reviews but i had to for this one . This was the WORST VACATION EVER , DIRTY AND SO SAD THAT THEY DID NOT CARE! We got there the water was dirty and so were the rooms . This place is not expensive but you will be much better off by paying just a little more and going to a clean place . The water smelled like sewer and everyone was in the pools so you can imagine how packed the pools were . HORRIFIC place never again . PLease do not book with them , worst worst worst place that we have ever been to and we travel extensively.

Booked accommodations

We had intentionally booked an ocean front room as part of our vacation experience is seeing the ocean. When we checked in, we were presented a letter stating that we were being "upgraded" to a garden room.... It didn't sound like an upgrade to us, but it was a grand garden and not a standard garden. A garden view by any name is still a garden view, with 3 more restaurants we could eat at. Eating was NOT our main purpose for booking a trip to Mexico. After finally speaking with the night manager, we were assured that we would be moved to an ocean front room the next day-we were told there were none available. The next morning when we went to the front desk to find out which ocean front rooms we would be moved into later that afternoon, we were once again given the same song and dance, that we had been upgraded to a grand garden room.... The front desk clerk was very rude and would not allow us to finish a sentence without interrupting us. I spent my whole career in retail management in the U.S. One caveat I was taught early on in my training was the customer is always right. As a manger it was my job to turn an unhappy customer into a happy customer who would return many times. The front desk employees at this resort definitely diid not receive any customer service training.

What's to Love

Living large and chillaxing seaside where your feet melt into the soft, sugary sand .

Ogling at the vibrant, spectacular coral reef. Rent some snorkeling gear and explore the seas.

Stress-ousting, mind-melting spa services.

Trekking around Tulum and gazing at the view of hypnotic, crazy blue waves.

Hanging with the sea turtles at nearby Akumal. Splish splash.

Sending your little ones off to the Kids' Club for movies & games while you escape to Beach Chill Central.

What We'd Change

It's about an hour from Cancun airport to Oasis Tulum, but once you arrive, you'll find the location is really perfect.

Why You Should Go

It's 60 miles from the airport - it's a drive, but when arrive, you'll be far away from the real world.

You can improve your game on two tennis courts. Love-Love.

There's yoga, pilates, water aerobics plus a gym/fitness center to keep your beach bod beachtastic.

For experienced divers, there's scuba nearby. If that's not your thang, there's fishing. Both for a fee.
