LOOKS GOOD IN PICTURES....WHAT A DUMP!!!!!!

WHAT CAN'T I NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT...I don't ever write bad review...until today!!!! The rooms were humid and the smell of mold just consumed me. There are no safes in the rooms that works. The food was sooooo cheap!!!!!! The attitudes of the staff was like a bunch of monkeys with no leaders. The alcohol was watered down. In order to get a hello you must say hello first ....wow!!!!!!!! i never made a comment to them while I was there...but they had to move me and my wife to a different room because when it rains the water comes in through the recess lighting....wow!!!!!!! The place is still under construction!!!!! while its in operation!!!!! How frustrating when trying to sleep in!!!!!!! This is why we are on vacation...in order to sleep in late!!!!!!! I will never.....ever.....recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!

Relaxing, Comfortable Vacation

I spent 5 nights at Oasis Lite last week with my sister. Overall, it was a nice trip. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and mostly everyone spoke English. I was a bit disappointed at first, because I didn't realize the Lite is separated from the Grand Hotel, which is where the beach, good pools, restaurants, entertainment, etc happens. With that said, it was very easy to get down to the other resort, 500 meters away. It was a short walk or bike ride or a shuttle ride, which came very frequently. The room itself was very plain and basic, but clean and sufficient. There was some construction outside of our window but we weren't too bothered. We spent most of our time by the pool and beach. The beach was nice, but lots of seaweed. There were people trying to clean it up but it was just a lot. Once you got past it, the water was warm, beautiful and clear. We got massages on the pier, AMAZING! I highly recommend! The pools were ok, not very crowded, but not very deep either. The infinity pool had a swim up bar, which we were told we couldn't get drinks from because of our Lite bracelets. There were other bars close by, but it was a bummer. if you are on a tight budget, I would recommend the Lite. However, if you can afford it, spring for the Grand.

Oasis

The service was horrible if you did not give the waiter, bartender or anyone a tip. They only give you one drink at a time, and say they are out of the drink you want, but if you pay them they change their attitude. The room smelled like mildew everyday, and had water all over the floor the last 2 days. There is no a/c in the lobby at all so it is uncomfortably hot. One of the pools was closed down, the others looked dirty and had some kind of mold on the walls and they kick you out of the pool around 8 p.m. The lounge chairs around the pool reeked like feces and the smell floated around the place. I am guessing it is due to the moisture and them not washing it. Good luck trying to make dinner reservations, you have to be in line before they open at 9 and if you are with a big group or family they can never find space in the restaurants or seat you together. We had gone to enjoy some excursions and came back to ask if we can get dinner at a certain place and they said no but once you offer to pay them they magically found room to seat you. The buffet was not that good so we would do anything to avoid eating there and the wait to be seated is long as well. They did not put our rooms close or even on the same floor, messed up the bed requests by giving us a kind when we needed 2 queen size beds. The bathtub was gross so I wore my swimming shoes to take a shower, which ran out of hot water often.

Most beautiful beaches

Overall experience was great! The staff was very accommodating and very pleasant! The beach and pool area...simply amazing! The down side - our room, although was very spacious, was on the ground level and was always extremely damp and smelled of mildew. There were large gaps in our door which made for easy entry by mosquitoes and geckos!!! Make sure you take Off or some type of bug repellent - for your self and your room. We had to fill the gaps of our door with towels and Tshirts and then sprayed the entire room including the bedding with Off! The food was ok, you do have to make reservations to eat at any restaurant other than the buffet. Go on excursions! We went to Chichen Itza, if you're a history buff, you'll love it! Next time we're planning on going to Xel-Ha! If you go to 5th Ave in Carmen Del Playa, take cash only! I made the mistake by using my debit card because they said it would be cheaper because they would only take out the pesos amount, well I got scammed out of $200 usd for 2 cheap Mexican wrestling masks! My overall experience was great! I will definitely go back but I would spend the extra money on an upgraded room!

What We'd Change

It's about an hour from Cancun airport to Oasis Tulum, but once you arrive, you'll find the location is really perfect.

Why You Should Go

It's 60 miles from the airport - it's a drive, but when arrive, you'll be far away from the real world.

You can improve your game on two tennis courts. Love-Love.

There's yoga, pilates, water aerobics plus a gym/fitness center to keep your beach bod beachtastic.

For experienced divers, there's scuba nearby. If that's not your thang, there's fishing. Both for a fee.
