The good the bad and the ugly!

First let me say we love this place and will go back, All the people and amenities, food, drinks and entertainment are wonderful! The bad...we were not told nor was it advertised that June and July are High School graduation months and when we got there you could not see the pool because there was 600 kids in it all drinking and not getting out except for the twerking contest! Needless to say there were other people there with kids under the age of 12 that were aghast at the disco tunes with inappropriate words and actions for families. We thought after 4 days and they were leaving we'd have some peace and quiet but 600 more checked in. Not a relaxing week at all. The ugly...On top of that I got hit by a 6' x 6' metal rolling food cart, pushed very fast and hard from one restaurant to another on July 4 night because the person was pushing the cart and couldn't see over it and ran into me so hard I flew in the air, landed on my tailbone, sprained a wrist and hit my head and wound up in the resort medical room and then was transported to the hospital the next day. Yes, the person should have been pulling the cart so they could see where they were going! It truly was an accident and the resort covered all expenses. I am sorry to say but those two things (kids and cart) made the trip pretty ugly. We will go back in the fall when it's quiet and the resort is helping us with that. Other than...don't go during graduation time...this is a really nice place!

It was ok.

Best part, it's litterly 5 mins from airport! They let us check in early which was nice, but the first day we came in we were past the time that you had to make reservations for dinner by, lame. So we ate in buffet. Which wasn't that great. Everyday you have to make reservations for dinner before 10:30, why? I don't get it. Room service is not included.... why? It's all-inclusive... The rooms were nice, beds were firm but comfortable, but the ac wasn't great. Lots of activities and such to do for kids which is great. The guys played basketball in the water and threw around a football which was nice, The pool area was great, the beach was nice and small but the water is dark and smelly..

-Resort Cleaning is being done in day time where the resort is very busy. - Cleaning the pool is being done while people are swimming (never been in a place where the pool is open 24 hours with low service) - food left overs is being transferred from one restaurant to another. - The bacon is hidden under the chef's table (the egg person) and never put as part of the breakfast buffet. - Whenever there is a change in the regular activity schedule (cancellation of an activity - bingo-) it won't be announced. - the whole resort needs maintenance (broken tiles-you can't walk bare foot around the pool) - landscaping is nice but not maintained.

Just okay

I went with my friend for a week-long getaway. First off, if you are looking for some peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. There were way too many kids running around for my taste. I almost felt like I was the only one there without any. Dinner was an absolute nightmare one of the nights. So many kids running around, bumping into my chair, crying babies and kids wearing pajamas to dinner. There were some that were even grabbing their food right out of the bins with their hands, which really grossed me out. That night was the last night I ever ate there. I ordered room service one night, which was super cheap and actually better than the buffet. Well worth it. The rest of the nights, we went to restaurants across the street at the marina. The rooms were actually really nice, except I was supposed to get 2 beds and we got one king size, but it was on the 8th floor with an awesome view so we really didn't want to risk getting something that wouldn't be as nice, so we didn't say anything. The resort was fairly small and there's not much to do. We were going to go to the magic show the first night and then when we got there, there was a sign of what looked like Mickey Mouse hands holding a wand and a hat, so we figured it was geared towards the tons of kids that were there and just turned around and left. There wasn't really much action around the pool either. I guess I'm used to having some entertainment during the day. The most exciting thing that happened was having a ring toss competition with the guests and a shark dancing by the pool (ugh!). The beach was nice, although vendors walk around constantly asking you to buy stuff, so if you are looking to lay down with some peace and quiet, that's really not an option either. The location was good and was right next to the marina, which we walked to a few times to go eat and shop. The service was okay. Most of the time, we wouldn't be asked what we wanted to drink for breakfast until we were nearly done. The breakfast was the best meal of the day. It was really good and I actually took note of how they made their omelettes and have been making them everyday since I got back. Dinner was just okay. We were eating lunch at the buffets for a couple of days until we realized that there is a snack bar by the pool, which was awesome as well. We didn't have to change out of our suits. We could just walk up there and get a burger, hot dog, nachos, fries, etc. and go back to our lounge chair and eat. The best service was at the pool. The waiters come around all the time asking you what you want to drink and they are pretty fast too. Very impressed with the pool bar staff and they make great drinks!. Super nice! I think this place would be great for people with kids, but definitely not for couples on a romantic vacation or going with your friends to have some fun. I stayed in a Melia resort in Punta Cana, it was much bigger with more things to and better entertainment so I just assumed it would be just as nice. This resort just made me think that next time I will probably just go to an adults only resort so I can get some peace and quiet.

What's to Love

The all-inclusive fabulousness: the food, the drinks, the everything is sandsational.

Teeing off at the Marina Vallarta Golf Course that's a coconut's throw from the resort.

Dropping the kids off at the kid's club then making a beeline for the swim-up bar.

Melting into stress-smashing, body-and-soul-soothing massages in an open-air cabana.

Swimming, floating and diving into the largest pool in Vallarta - zero-entry point for kids!

The all-consuming kids' activities: arts & crafts, ping pong, foosball, arcade games and more.

Visiting the landmark, the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe & zip lining in the nearby jungle.

The nightly shows - the dancers cut a rug with everything from retro to traditional cultural dances.

Hanging at the Marieta Islands and Los Arcos National Marine Park. Both are not far away.

What We'd Change

We wish the beach were a little larger, but the outrageously huge pool more than makes up for it with its jetted sections and zero-entry kids' area.

Why You Should Go

The resort is just 10 minutes from the airport so your fam's slammin' vacay will begin in a snap.

There's jet ski and motor boat rentals plus parasailing, scuba, water skiing & more.

Hop on this opp: there's horseback riding. You can't miss this.

When you're drying off, you can play tennis, hit the climbing wall or batting cage.

Luckily, medical facilities are near should you trip on a coconut or have any other mishap.

Keep your svelte body looking svelte with yoga, aerobics and a fitness room.
