Awesome place

8/5/17-8/12/17 I got nervous after reading some reviews about the beach and service. All I can say is wow this place was amazing. The beach beautiful yes there is seaweed but it is still amazing. There beach at the next resort Is great for snorkeling and yes you can us it no problem. 100% of the beaches in Cozumel are public. The service was good the hotel staff does try to assist any way the can. For an all inclusive the food was great, my family and I have been everywhere in the Caribbean this place is at the top of the list we will be back.

Disappointment

My wife and I's sixth time at the Melia Cozumel. We have had great service. The maids, restaurant servers, pool bartenders and everyone did not disappoint except for those in the hotel lobby. I had looked at our credit card history and noticed unauthorized usages in the Cozumel Community. I went down to the hotel lobby and explained my position to the front desk and said if I make a call to my credit card company will I be charged for it. They said, "No, you won't." Checkout the next day and they said you had an outgoing phone call. I said, "Yes" I talked with an employee of yours and he said there would be no charge. They said that he was, "In Training" and that I would be held responsible for this $52 dollar call. I continued to explain that I was told it would be of no charge. They called "Gabriel" the supervisor so to speak and he said it was "internal" and there was nothing he could do. I told him we have been here six times and you are you willing to lose our business over $52 dollars. He said you are responsible for the call. Gabriel said he would attempt to get in charge with someone higher up and asked for our address to send us a voucher. I am not holding my breath. Gabriel was not impressive. I am going to write the company explaining my position. If they don't rectify this situation to what is right the Melia will not get our business again and I will be contacting those who may be interested in there practices. I've lost trust in this place. They are not trustworthy.

Worth the money

Took my kids here for my son's graduation present! Was skeptical because usually pictures lie. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This resort was very clean and offered a beautiful view. The beaches did have some seaweed but just a little walk to the other side of the pier was very clear and perfect for snorkeling! There were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy and the staff was amazing. The food was good however, it would have been a little better if the buffet changed what was offered day to day at breakfast. The Cafe Paraiso was the only real let down. The food was good but definitely not over a fresh water pond. More like a stagnant pool of moss. The aquarium only had a few tiny fish in it and I was expecting live piano music which was not the case. Still overall, I had a great experience here and would definitely stay at this resort again.

Melia

Melia was overall good. not much dining options and you had to make reservations which was a pain because you could only do it between 11 and 11:30am. Wasn't much to pick from. Only one ice machine at the main lobby. If you were staying on the other side it was a far walk for the ice. Not alot of activities for adults. Alot for the kids tho. People very friendly.

What's to Love

Snorkeling is aahh-mazing - the coral reef here is world-renowned & more than epic.

A world-class golf course is just across the street, but there's mini golf if you wanna take it down a notch.

A great family vacay spot that offers the salvation of an adults-only pool when you need it.

The ridiculously relaxing massages you can get in the spa, by the pool or by the ocean.

The complimentary (read: FREE) scuba lesson that will ready you, or not, for the deep blue.

Hopping on a scooter or moped and checking out Mother Nature's awesomeness around you.

The shows in the evening are pretty darn amusing. The entertainment team has got skillz.

What We'd Change

This Melia hotel in Cozumel is a tad on the small side, but it offers a golf course across the street and scuba and snorkeling expeditions to the world's second largest coral reef.

Why You Should Go

The airport is just five minutes from the airport. Breathe and you'll be on the beach.

Buy your transfers (from us) to and from the airport. It'll be one less thing to worry about.

There are five snazzy, jazzy bars and lounges where you chill or get wild or toggle between the two.

You've got four nosheries with scrumptious cuisine and settings.

Dive into aqua aerobics for the exercise thing, or water polo for the competition thing.

In addition to snorkeling, there's parasailing, motor boating, or Hobie catting (is that a word?).

You can play shuffleboard and tennis, but if you want a smaller court, there's always ping pong.

There's volleyball to enjoy, but if you want near zero physical movement, there's Spanish lessons.

Hotel Description

Melia Cozumel Golf - All-Inclusive Golf, Grub & Beach Greatness

In addition to being All About Golf (which we love), this lovely escape-haven was seemingly designed for all you fair-skinned beach goers because there's nearly a palapa around every palm. A fab place for families, there's a super fun kids' club (Kid's Co), but also, an adults-only pool for those times when separating from your little darlings would be best for everyone. Here's a ginormous plus: the world's second largest coral reef is close by and where you can descend into the deep blue for unmatched electrically colorful fish and other sea life. Finally, the food, drinks, scenery and spa are more than delicious. Was that a "yes, please," we heard? Thought so.

At Melia, the memories begin when you arrive.
