Beach was gorgeous

The hotel was OK not great! Lots of renovations going on and we ended up with an old room. Service is top notch everyone is so friendly and is more than happy the help or find anything you want or need. Pool wasn't so great was small. Buffet was mediocre however the restaurants were very good. Over all a good get a way but for the price I expected more

Great winter vacation

Melia is a very good, all-inclusive resort on an incredible stretch of white sand beach. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with views of the pools, gardens and ocean. There are seven dining venues, though not all were open each night during our February stay. The food was better than what we have had at other all-inclusive hotels. On site activities are available daily, as are excursions that may be booked from the hotel lobby. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Well worth the money spent.

Great weekend away

We fancied a long weekend away with minimal travelling and maximum comfort and we pretty much got what we wanted for a mid winter break. This hotel was great for a family package, kids club was good (even though it was very quiet, they made a big fuss of my kids), great choice of pools, but the best for me by far was the food. I am very fussy about food and have never been to an all inclusive holiday before and loved the food, but this was different. There was so much choice and the quality was truly wonderful, which made the holiday for me. We travelled with our 2 kids age 4 and 8 and they loved it here. There was so much to do, especially on the beach and in the sea. The days just weren't long enough! Unfortunately the weather wasn't so great. I wish I'd brought wetsuits for the kids, they would have benefited from them in the pool and in the sea, it was just a little on the chilly side, but it didn't ruin anything. I would highly recommend this hotel for families. I'm not sure i would rush back here for a romantic or exclusive weekend away. The beach was lovely but not idyllic and I think there are better caribbean resorts to cater for that. A special mention goes to Chrystal in kids club for making my daughter's holiday so memorable, thank you , it was much appreciated!

Great Birthday vacation

Great service from beginning to the end of our stay. We got to the Melía Friday afternoon, check in took less than 10 minutes. After we checked in, we decided to book our reservations for the restaurants that were available within the resort. The associate for booking the restaurant was very helpful, she suggested which restaurants were better than the others, and booked us for the tepanyaki and Italian restaurant. Since it was my husbands birhday we decided to dine at Black Angus steak house. The steak house was great, staff was attentive and they even brought out a birthday cake for my husband without having to request it. Theodore, the chef, also took the time to speak with us and gave us a quick guide about tourist attractions, down town area, and a local drink called sky juice. Specialty restaurants were tasty and flavorful. However, the buffet they had was limited in choice. room service was quick, tasty, and a good choice on the run. During our stay, our room was always stocked with fresh water bottles every morning and the room was serviced every afternoon after returning from the beach. The beach bar staff were wonderful. Callon, was so helpful and even helped bring drinks to the hot tub after the pool closed. The foam party on Saturday afternoon was a blast. A great way to get to know everyone at the resort. Daily activities, contests, trivia along with the ping pong table and basketball hoop kept us entertained throughout our stay. Entertainment for the nights we were there was lively at the lobby with two bars and take out food from EstaVida until 3AM. The Super Bowl party was also fun and well done. Two large projection screens and multiple smaller flat screens, seats everywhere, buffet and snack spread and great music afterwards. And, Wifi was available through the resort with strong signals. Overall, I would recommend this resort. Staff was friendly and attentive.

What We'd Change

Why You Should Go

You'll be sippin' your Bahama Mama in a flash. The resort is a short 10-min drive from the airport.

Bus into Nassau is approximately $1.50 - sight seeing is the best.

Book early for reservations at the restaurants - you don't want to miss out.

When you check-in, ask for a cocktail or head to the bar so you can start living on island time.

On Friday night, mix and mingle with other beach lovers at the resort's Caribbean Night.

Start your morning with a hot, steamy cup of joe at Starbucks. (Or an iced latte always works.)
