Great Value

Worth every penny! Pools beautiful with swim up bars! Beach clean with ample chairs and shade Night time dining was exceptional, lunch and breakfast were only buffet, with the same foods served, excursion options from resort were phenomenal. Would go again!

Great Stay

I had gone with one of my best friends to Melia Caribe Tropical in DR. We had a BLAST! I love eating different foods so I made sure they had plenty of of restaurant options. However, that wasn't necessary! We went to the same two spots and everything was different every time. And the food was delicious! Every day! CRAZY options for excursions too! Her and I are already planning our second trip! Room was good. But, just good. The shower was weird and we didn't have control of our outside light. Only (actual) downfall I found was that the pool/ pools are all by the beach. So we had to take the train any time we wanted to go. So, sunrise watching was pretty impossible. Which I enjoy watching. But, if that happens to be my only complaint....! I'll take it!!!!

PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS RESORT!!

We had the worst experience ever, we were like 20 people and they still don't do anything to make you feel comfortable. Starting from the rooms, very humid, after housekeeping do their job still smelling bad, old, super dirty, they need to renovate. You can't use everything, they have some restaurants that they are not included in the all inclusive package, of course they want you to pay more. the resort is huge, and if you pay for the regular package without the upgrade the golf cars will not give you a ride, unless you show them some money (tip), you have to wait for the train, that goes by every 10 to 15 minutes. In the lobby there are some people following you to tell you that they want to invite you to a vip dinner, courtesy from the hotel but they ask you to write a review saying the best things about the hotel, asking people to lie about the resort when that vip dinner was one of the worst meals ever. not mentioning when they call you, they bother you so much trying to get you for dinner in change you have to write a nice review about them. why?? because they know that resort is not worth it. They have many restaurants but they only open some of them at night, 2 or 3, food is super bad!!!! We been in some other places all inclusive but nothing like this, one of the worst hotels and service ever. There is no activities, in the DR is all about music, not even at the beach they put a lil music, super boring. I know it was not a high season for them but they have to understand we go there to have fun, to relax, to sleep in a comfortable place and to have good times.

Very nice place

The hotel is very big and the staff was very nice and friendly. The room was nothing special. I imagined a little more from a Jr. deluxe Suite, but it was clean and ok. The hotel is so big, that you have to take a train to get around, but they drive all the time. On the 3rd day the "regular pool" got shut down for renovation and we had to use the "level pool". It wouldn't have been a problem if they would have announced it. With the pool, they also closed the restaurant at the beach, so we had to drive all the way back to the buffet for lunch. We were not allowed to use The Level restaurant at the beach. That was a little inconvenient. I also do not remember having had the choice booking the stay at the level. I most likely would have chosen this. There was no real explanation between Level and regular all inclusive. I just thought there is a pool where no kids are allowed but it was not clear, that this is a upgraded stay. The restaurant choices are really great and the food is delicious! Overall, a very nice place to stay!

What's to Love

Chillaxing on the sugar-white sandy beach, cocktail in hand, watching the azure waves roll in.

De-stressing at the two delicious spas that each have private gardens and Jacuzzis.

The food - travelers reports that everything, especially the steak and lobster tails, is crazy good.

Two ginormous, free-form pools, each with swim-up bars for your day drinking pleasure.

Dropping the kids off at Flintstones Land for daily fun and meals. Yabba-Dabba-Doo!

The grounds keeping staff who offer coconuts and cut them open, fresh for you to drink.

What We'd Change

It might be gorgeous, but this place is huge! That's why we love the complimentary shuttles that take guests around the resort.

Why You Should Go

It's just 20 minutes from the airport - you'll be basking in the warm Dominican sun pronto.

There's wave after wave of water sports: sunfish sailing, water bikes, kayaking, canoeing and more.

Adult beverages will be around every palm with the 10 bars you've got to choose from.

You can keep that rockin' beach bod with fitness center, tennis and a climbing wall.

Bring your A game because a 27-hole championship course golf is right across the street.
