It's time to take a break, and there's no better place to do it than the beach at Melia Cabo Real in Los Cabos. The resort recently underwent a $1.3 million renovation involving the rooms, restaurants and bars. A popular destination for weddings, the ballroom seats up to 900 guests and or 1,200 reception guests in chic style. Couples enjoy the gardens, and golfers appreciate the world-class golf course next door. Sun-lovers revel in having the only safe, swimmable beach in the area.

Wedded Bliss
We went for a wedding and loved the resort. The staff were wonderful. Left a watch behind in hotel room and a couple weeks later when I realized it, contacted guest services and the maid had turned it in and it was being held for pickup or mail out. The swim up bar was lots of fun, and the view just beautiful.
Five of us enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend stay at Melia Cabo Real.
We knew we had chosen a nice place to stay the moment we entered the grand lobby that was tastefully decorated and had sweeping views of the resort. The room was very comfortable with three of us in a room with two beds. The bathroom was spacious with a nice shower and powerful water pressure. The food was delicious with lots of choices whether it was at the buffet which overlooks the ocean and beach, the Mexican and Japanese restaurants and the pool side snack bar which also had a daily variety. Two of us had 80 minute massages done by ladies that were friendly, professional and very, very good. We walked long the beach each day and went swimming in the ocean. The swimming beach area is larger than what it looks like in the pictures. There's also a large outdoor fire pit with plenty of cushions to lean on. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and readily arranged transportation wherever you wanted to go. The Brazilian dancers and musician show was superb! The staff even got some of us to participate in the Kayak races in the pool. We are
definitely coming back to this resort!
This is not a hotel for people who want to party. It is at least a $20 cab ride to town in either direction. The pool bar closes at 6pm and the only other place to get a drink is in the lobby bar. There is limited dinner options as well, the buffet or on alternating nights, Japanese or Mediterranean food. The beach is pretty rough for swimming and is a bit of a hike from the hotel.
However, the staff were wonderful and very helpful, and the hotel was clean and well taken care of. This is a nice hotel if you want to just relax and read by the pool.
I booked 5 nights at Melia for my friend and I as a way to say thank you for taking care of all of my stuff while deployed. I read some reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to take my chances. The reviews were correct when they said the beds were hard! I don't mean firm, even with a mattress topper they were hard as a board! My ribs felt bruised when I woke up in the morning-so beware. The all-inclusive food was decent. The food in the restaurant was alright, but mostly we enjoyed the snack bar near the pool. It was always stocked and if you ordered something that needed to be cooked,it came out hot. The buffet style dinner was subpar- mostly luke warm or flat out cold. I was not impressed. The staff was very friendly, carried our bags, brought us welcoming drinks, and answered all of our questions. On the 3rd night we decided to venture into town.. This is where it got ugly. We had dinner (I can't remember the name of the restaurant) and went back to the resort. In the morning I was violently sick. My friend called the resort Doctor who cam right to our room and said they needed to take me to a hospital. She put me in her car and drove me herself! I ended up having a very bad case of food poisoning.
The pool water was surprisingly cold for Nov. and the 1 hot tub was always jam packed with people so we never got in. As long as you got down to the pool before 11am you were sure to get a decent lounge chair. Over all I would say that this is an alright place to vacation as long as you book with a discount. I would never pay the full price to stay here.

Room Information
305 spacious deluxe garden and oceanview rooms and suites with private balcony are all richly decorated, includes marble floors, air-conditioning, cable TV, coffee maker, mini bar, direct dial telephone with voice mail, hair dryer, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, and room service from 7am to 10:30pm. Decor includes marble floors, light wood furnishings, recessed lighting and abstract depictions of indigenous Mexican symbols carved into walls. Marble bathrooms house tub/shower combinations.
In an area where safe, swimmable beaches are a rarity, the resort's 500-ft stretch of safe beach is a beautiful place to suit up and hit the waves.
What We'd Change
We wish the resort were closer to the shopping and sizzling nightlife in Cabo San Lucas, but the free shuttle service makes the trip a stress-free experience.

Melia Cabo Real in Los Cabos: All Inclusive, 18-Hole Golf and Swimmable Beach
It's time to take a break, and there's no better place to do it than the beach at Melia Cabo Real in Los Cabos. The resort recently underwent a $1.3 million renovation involving the rooms, restaurants and bars. A popular destination for weddings, the ballroom seats up to 900 guests and or 1,200 reception guests in chic style. Couples enjoy the gardens, and golfers appreciate the world-class golf course next door. Sun-lovers revel in having the only safe, swimmable beach in the area.
Los Cabos blends exotic desert landscapes with the Sea of Cortez on the resort's 500-ft swimmable beach in a gentle cove. Relax under a palapa while the kids play, or head to the enormous lagoon-style pool and soak up the sun on the flagstone deck. Kids adore racing to the pool's palm-garden islands while grown-ups hang out at the swim-up bar with a cerveza. When hunger strikes, dine on red snapper at La Terraza or sample premium sushi at Kujira. Looking to close out the night after an evening at a weekly theme party? Clink martinis at the Lobby Bar and enjoy nightly entertainment.
Though staying out all night can be appealing, you'll want to get an early start on the huge array of activities at Melia Cabo Real. Los Cabos marine life is just a snorkel trip away, and aqua aerobics are gun with water this great. Kids go wild for the rock climbing wall and high-speed thrills at the awesome zip-line. Want to check out Cabo Real, the Robert Trent Jones, II, 18-hole championship golf course? Leave the kids at either of the age-divided, supervised kids' clubs for fun and games while you tee off worry-free.
Make an appointment for an open-air massage in the cactus garden; shiatsu is definitely the answer to a day of non-stop excitement. When it's time to unwind, the Deluxe Ocean View Room has a balcony with a killer view. One king or two double beds with welcoming turndown service makes sure everyone sleeps comfortably.
