481-room resort has two building sections. The Frenchman's Reef section includes three buildings set into and atop a cliff overlooking the ocean. A six-story tower offers views of the open sea and Charlotte Amalie harbor. An eight-story tower built into the cliff faces the open sea. A three-story wing atop the cliff overlooks the harbor. The Morning Star section includes five two- and three-story beachfront buildings (exterior corridors, no elevators) with open-sea views.

The Marriott Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Beach Resort appeals to families and couples seeking a spectacular beachfront holiday close to city conveniences! A large pool wraps around the cliff face below the main building. The pool and a nearby eight-person spa tub have sea and sunset views. At the base of the cliff, a boardwalk leads to a 30-foot waterfall. Terraced below a bougainvillea-strewn hillside and above a half-mile beach are a 120-foot-long, Romanesque-style pool and two 10-person spa tubs.
The resort has just completed a 48 million dollar renovation of the property. All rooms have been fully refreshed to reflect the new room design of the resort with all rooms and enclosed public areas equipped with centralized air conditioning. In addition, a re-concept of the Windows on the Harbor Restaurant now provides a central point within the resort to meet for a drink or a meal while witnessing the spectacular view over Charlotte Amalie Harbor, whether by yourself or with a group.
The Reef Health Club and Spa now includes an exclusive spa pool featuring massage jets, plunge areas and a full redesign of the water features to create two more individual, but fully integrated, aquatic experiences. These include a main free form infinity edged pool with multiple features such as Jacuzzis, lounging sun shelf areas uniquely landscaped with samples of plush Caribbean foliage surrounded with features such as improved seating areas, new surfacing, deck lighting and state of the art fiber optic lighting displays, not to mention the spectacular ocean vista. A newly designed fitness center on level three of the main tower features a host of state of the art exercise equipment.
Both pool complexes include sundecks furnished with padded lounge chairs. The resort includes two lighted tennis courts, sauna, and fitness center with cardiovascular equipment, weight machines, and free weights. On the beach, guests may rent kayaks, small sailboats, windsurfers, and snorkeling gear. During winter season, poolside tai chi, yoga, and aerobics classes are offered by the hotel (fees charged).
Independent vendors offer Jet Skiing, parasailing, and scuba diving (fees charged). The 18-hole Mahogany Run golf course is 4 miles from the hotel, the front desk can assist with tee times. Water taxis connect the resort with downtown Charlotte Amalie's duty-free shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. The boat trip to Charlotte Amalie takes five minutes.
Event space at the hotel includes 15 meeting rooms and a large ballroom totaling 60,000 square feet. Outdoor event venues are also available. RESORT UPDATE, NOVEMBER 2011: Please note that the main water supply pipe supporting the air conditioning in the Ocean Tower at Frenchman's Reef has broken, leaving the rooms in this tower without air conditioning. The resort is working diligently to repair the broken pipe and resort air conditioning to the building. Work is expected to be completed by November 19, 2011.
