Truly great vacation

This was a truly great vacation. The hospitality and service was outstanding. From the time of our check in we were treated with kind and generous hospitality. The front desk, concierge, butlers, wait staff and shuttle drivers were friendly and always went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful. I cannot say enough about the people who served us and accommodated our needs. Carlos, the bartender and Rogeberto were among the many cheerful faces that greeted us daily. We stayed in the adult only section in the newest villas. They were beautiful. We enjoyed the quieter of the pools however frequented the beach daily. It was helpful to lay our towels on chairs before going to breakfast to reserve lounges. Beach lounges were always available. Though reviews were not too favorable for the beach, we thought it was great. We did take a sailing excursion to the nearby island and enjoyed the bluest of waters. Highly recommended! The restaurants were worthwhile. We sent an email in advance of arriving to make reservations. Gourmet Don Pablo was our favorite…. an exquisite experience! Booking with cheap caribean was a positive experience. We used their transfers and were thankful for the convenience. The resort was about 40 minutes from the airport. I'd go back again….

Well worth the money

This resort is very close to a 5 star resort. I felt from the minute we checked in the staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the food was great. We were able to book several of the restaurants that needed reservations and the Brazilian Restaurant was amazing. If you aren't able to get reservation don't worry, the buffet was as good as the other restaurants. Now what I would change to make it better. I felt that no matter where you went to get a drink you were expected to tip. Now I know you reward good service, I've been to resorts such as Sandals where tipping is frowned upon but you still do it for exceptional service, but here you felt expected to every time. I'm an early worm. I felt that there could be a better clean up early in the morning to get rid of empty glasses that seemed to be everywhere. Last but not least is the fact that for some reason the maid would not restock our fridge with beer. Maybe this is because I didn't tip up front for this service but still. I even asked and got the give me 5 minute response but she never returned. Overall the good out weighs the bad. It's a very nice adults only resort. I would not hesitate to return. A few changes and this could be a 5 star resort easily.

Luxury Bahia Bouganville

Water is very murky due to the river that empties into bay next to resort. Electricity goes out often but a generator kicks in right away. But the generators are HUGE and VERY LOUD and are right next to the pool. Tipping is very expected.

Best Last Min Trip

I decided to surprise my husband with a last minute vacation due to having a large amount of paid vacation time off from my work. I was informed that I had to take my vacation days within 2 weeks or I would loose them all. So I started looking for CHEAP all inclusive options since it was a last minute decision and didn't have a lot of money put aside. I came across cheap Caribbean and found the most amazing RESORT! I honestly thought it was to good to be true. So before buying it I cross referenced with a few other travel websites. I figured it would be ok since it was so cheap as long as there isn't "mold" in the bathrooms. After a few hours of research I went ahead and bought the trip. When we got to the airport there was someone waiting for us with a sign and was very professional, helpful and super nice! He got us to our hotel and even provided us with wifi for the 45 min drive tot he resort. When we checked into our room we were greated with welcome beverages and our butler! Butler..... THANK YOU! As we got a tour of the resort on our way to our suite we shared some info and informed our butler how we actually never got a honeymoon due to some last min job changes right before we got married in Oct 2016 and this was a last min trip. Little did we know she had our room decorated daily weather it was a romantic bubble bath, rose petals, champagne or hundreds of candles burning for us as suprises to make our trip as if it was our honeymoon. In the past knowing that you normally have to for all those extras we were blown away. The room was beautiful, marble floors huge canopy bed, perfect size balcony, lounge area with couch, breakfast table/ chairs and even a small working des. The bathroom was impeccably CLEAN! ( my biggest peppiv) And the resort still smelled of new construction, this resort seemed to be building a few new buildings and even options for you to buy a home/town house/ condo. I did read some of the reviews that ppl were pushed into taking a tour about buying land but we were not bothered once. There was a option if "YOU WANTED TO TAKE A TOUR" you could at your your choice. We skipped went to the pool! The food was great! Made reservations every night at one of the private dinning locations and had the buffet for breakfast every morning, which was to die for! Literally anything and everything you can think of to eat. The adult pools were perfect we really enjoyed the swim up bars and the employees who had adult games/dancing and live entertainment all day long. The only small down fall is the beach water is not as clear as other parts of the island but we knew this going into the trip! There is a river just north of the resort that opens up to the ocean and runs down past the resort so the water is slightly murky. But the pools and if you do a catamaran day cruise to any of the islands you will get to experience the amazing clear ocean water. We also bought 2 excursions thru the resort and loved them! Great price for the couple and had fun and awesome tour guides! Felt completely safe off the resort everytime we left (with our hotel guides) Overall the trip EXCEEDED OUR EXPATIONS and we are thinking about returning next year since we LOVED IT! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful! If you are wavering on weather or not to pick this location.... don't be nervous at all it is a great resort!
