Los Cabos Overview
Live it up in Los Cabos! Since the Sea of Cortes joins the Pacific here, those who love water activities will feel right at home. Big game fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling and kayaking are some of the top water sports you can take advantage of here. But if you’d prefer to just stay dry, Los Cabos is also home to world-class golf, art galleries, high-end spas and luxurious resorts. All that combined with numerous outdoor activities - like whale-watching, zip lining through canyons, or riding an ATV. You'll quickly see why Los Cabos is one of the most complete vacation destinations. When the sun goes down, party life kicks it up a notch so you can head over to the bars for dancing and fun. We must warn you though, Los Cabos is contagious. So party ‘til the sun comes up and get ready to do it all over again.
Other Destinations in Mexico
Mapping Out Mexico
Why is Mexico everything to everyone? A quick visit to the east coast sums it up. Cancun’s got nightlife and a party scene while Cozumel offers outdoor adventure like diving and snorkeling. The west coast has even more to boast. Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta both offer beaches, world-class hotels and great golf courses, making them perfect family vacation spots. However, adventure-minded travelers will want to head to either Mazatlan to explore historic ruins or Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, which has a similar vibe, but with the feel of an upscale city. And for the escapist, Huatulco and Manzanillo boast virtually untouched natural beauty. While each destination is uniquely different, they all have their own special way of showing you the magic of Mexico.
Best Places to Party in Cabo
In the land where tequila, sand and dancing go hand in hand, Cabo San Lucas is the place to party in Mexico. Imagine the hottest nightclub you’ve ever been to, then add water (or, the beach, rather) to the mix.
Nikki Beach at the ME Cabo resort is lined up with DJs and drinks all day long. At night, people pile into the Passion Club to party into the wee hours of morning. The Cabo Wabo Cantina, owned by former Van Halen musician Sammy Hagar offers live music and sometimes a chance to party with Sammy himself! If you're looking to dance to a fat backbeat, the Giggling Marlin and Squid Roe both have tantalizing beats and a river of ever-flowing drinks. Hang out way past midnight and you’ll find out why there’s no place to party like Cabo!
How to Enjoy Cabo Without Partying
If you aren't too keen on painting the town red, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy Cabo. Of course you can’t miss the sunny beach and fun water activities like kite sailing and fishing. But there’s a whole lot more to Cabo than just that.
Cabo is also known for its fantastic golf, where you can tee-off on courses designed by Jack Nikklaus and Pete Dye—it’s a golfer’s paradise. Foodies will enjoy Los Cabos’ upscale, fine dining. The art district in San Jose del Cabo is a popular complex to check out local sculptures, photography, paintings and jewelry. From November-June, you can check out the Thursday night art walks from 5-9pm, where you can enjoy wine and dining while soaking up the culture.
If you want to get out, explore the towns of Todos Santos and La Paz to fill up on even more culture and history, but make sure to spend time in Plaza Mijares, San Jose del Cabo’s town square to learn about all the Old Mexico architecture there as well.
Splash in for Winter Whale Watching
For a big splash, visit Los Cabos in the winter to experience something you’ve got to cross off your bucket list—whale watching. Each winter, travelers can take a rare gander at the grey whales as they make their journey through the Pacific to Baja California, where they'll search for mates in warmer waters.
On a whale watching tour, you’ll see whales playfully swim through the waters, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see a baby being born or a mama and her calf approach the boat. There is simply no better way to celebrate the wonders of nature than on the beautiful shores of Los Cabos!
Rev It Up with ATV Riding
One of the most appealing things about Los Cabos is its breathtaking landscape. On an ATV tour along the coast of the Los Cabos region, you’ll get a firsthand look as to how cacti, palm trees and pine trees grow side by side.
Coupled with adventurous terrain, a high-speed adventure tour is enough to give any explorer an adrenaline charge they won’t forget. Couple that rush with the sights and sounds of Baja California, you’ll know why ATVs make this quest even better. If adventure is your friend, an ATV adventure is really the most exciting way to get the best views of the coast, mountains and desert of Los Cabos.
Zip Through the Canyons
Feeling a bored with life? If you're looking for a way to recapture the excitement and zeal you've been looking for, zip lining through the desert canyons is a surefire way to get your heart pumping!
In a place so ripe with natural beauty, it’s a wonder there’s anything better than just marveling at the view. But, there is something better! How about catching that view from more than 300 feet in the air? How about traveling through the mountains and valleys at speeds up to 50 miles an hour? Feel that little tingle in your chest? That's right, zip lining makes everything better.
