Just You and Your Honey at Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort

There's soft sand between your toes as the foamy remains of a wave recede. You continue along the beach in front of Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort, an adults-only, boutique resort in Trinidad and Tobago. It's hard to believe this bit of Eden, nestled among palms in front of Stonehaven Bay, is only five miles from the airport.

After climbing a few steps, you're on the pool deck. Slip into the hot tub, but not until you've scooped up frosty mai tais from the swim-up bar in the pool. The setting is serene, so you can unwind in peace since no one under the age of 16 is permitted at the resort.

Time for lunch? You've had a hankering to try the local dishes, so head to Caribbean Bistro. Once you settle in at a table overlooking the pool and gardens, you might find it difficult to choose among all the options. We recommend a fish-and-plantain entree accompanied by a stir-fry dish with Tobagan vegetables. Dig in but go easy if you have reservations at the elegant Pinnacle Restaurant for dinner, where the imposing 36-ft cathedral ceiling lends a sense of spaciousness to the restaurant, but it's the view of the Caribbean that takes your breath away.

Tobago boasts 300 species of coral and 600 species of fish, so while you're on the island, take the plunge and learn to dive. Each guest at this all-inclusive resort receives a complimentary scuba lesson in the pool. Of course, if you simply want to pamper yourself, Le Grand Courlan Spa has you covered with a complimentary treatment every day. So stretch out for an aromatherapy massage, lean back for a facial, or hop into a re-mineralizing hydrotherapy bath!

Bird watching is popular on Tobago, which lays claim to more than 200 species. Grab binoculars and see how many you can spot at Grafton Caledonia Wildlife Sanctuary or Main Ridge Forest Reserve. And if you're a golfer, Tobago Plantations Golf Course and Mount Irvine Golf Course offer championship-caliber challenges.

Located on the western coast of Tobago on Stonehaven Bay, this resort is five miles from Scarborough and A.N.R. Robinson International Airport.

The SEMI ALL-INCLUSIVE Plan Includes:

• Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. Breakfast and dinner are served in Pinnacle Restaurant. Lunch and dinner are served in The Caribbean Bistro. Meals consist of a combination of buffets, table d'hote menus and barbecues.

• One complimentary scuba session per person in swimming pool

The Beach Bar is not part of the All-Inclusive plan. Guests will be given a credit of TT $100.00 (approx US $15.00) per person per day valid from 10am to 4:30pm only. Credits may not be rolled over to the following day. From 4:30pm onwards guests must pay for items consumed.
