Tucked away in a land of contrasts, Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos is the perfect starting place to explore the tip of the Baja Peninsula. The San Jose Estuary, just north of the hotel, mingles with the spirited waters of the Sea of Cortes, to the south. You'll want to grab your camera to capture the stunning contrast between land and sea.

NOT HANDYCAPPED FRIENDLY
WE REQUESTED THE SAME ROOM BECAUSE OF THE CONVEINCE AS I HAVE A HANDYCAP. WE WERE PUT ON THE THIRD FLOOR. AFTER FOUR DAYS OF GOING TO THE FRONT DESK. I HAD TO PAY AN UPGRADE TO GET A FIRST FLOOR ROOM. NOT A GOOD WAY TO TREAT REPEAT CUSTOMERS.
First off, I traveled with my sister and we are both in our mid to late twenties. We are both not picky eaters, and not overly needy in service. That said, this hotel is cheap for a reason. It is horribly located. Its a 2 mile walk from the closest bus stop and 30 miles from Cabo San Lucas. Its a mile walk into the small town of CAbo San jose. The cab rides to Cabo are $35 USD EACH way. There is a shuttle that is about 10-20 USD per person, but it only runs until 4:30. The bus is a few bucks, but takes about 30 minutes and you still have to either walk the 2 miles or pay a 5 USD cab faire.
Next, the food is AWFUL!!! I'm talking cant even eat it awful and this is coming from two girls who will pretty much eat anything. Poor quality, and just gross.
The rooms are very dated and the beds are super hard. The towels are rough and old.
The service is horrble. WE had no WIFI in our room the entire stay and were pretty much told too bad. We had to request additional towels 3 times before we received them. We were never told about any of the activities, the shuttle etc. You are left to fare on your own.
Stay somewhere in Cabo, or at least on the bus route. This hotel is nt worth the cheap price. You will spend more on food and taxis....

lack of dining facilities
had to stand in line at 7am to wait for the reservation desk to open for reservations for the evening
need to have more servers like around the pool area and at the beach
need to warm up the pool specially if the weather is not in the 80's
not enough chairs around the pool to lay down
no towel services available by the pool
need to have at least every night mexican entertainment like mariachis
need to play latin music in the one and only buffet restaurant rather than classic or american we go to mexico to do it the mexican way other wise I stay home
I've been to santo Domingo to an all inclusive hotel and to compare with that service this Holiday Inn leaves little to be desired

Not my first time here and not my last.
This was my first trip to the resort in the post El Presidente name change. The only difference I noticed was an upgrade to flat screens in the room and jewerly on display in the lobby for purchase. I was very pleased to see my favorite employees still there. Elva is a huge asset to this resort. Reviews about her was why I originally visited the place. I figured if more than one person went out of their way to name her in the review then the service must be good. And thats what it is really about for me. I want to go to a place I can relax and know I will be taken care of. Although the Royal Mayan recently opened next door and is really really nice, when I visited there I was treated like a visitor and they didnt care if I returned or not. Thats sad.
I was a bit disappointed with the dinner options. Napa is amazing. I wish I could have had it twice in my stay. But hey, there were not a lot of people there. I understand. Ive seen it at many other resorts.
I would recommend this resort to anyone who is not looking for a mega resort with a 1000 people, who dont need the noise and party of the disco all night, who want a nice clean place with great service and are ok with outdated rooms. I dont spend much time at all in my room, so I dont care.

Can we book a package through you for a 10 day trip, but only book hotel for 4 days?2 answers
We are meeting friends with a timeshare in Los Cabos. So, we were hoping to book a package with an all-inclusive stay, then go to the other place for a week, before leaving with our return flight as part of the package purchase.

What We'd Change
The undertow makes it impossible to swim in the Sea of Cortes, but with three terrific pools overlooking the beach, who needs the ocean?

Hotel Description
Dramatic Views at the Los Cabos Holiday Inn Resort
Tucked away in a land of contrasts, Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos is the perfect starting place to explore the tip of the Baja Peninsula. The San Jose Estuary, just north of the hotel, mingles with the spirited waters of the Sea of Cortes, to the south. You'll want to grab your camera to capture the stunning contrast between land and sea.
Three pools, in a distinctive W-shape mirroring the hotel, offer plenty of options for everyone. Families gravitate to a pool with a shallow section for the young ones. Close by is the Chiqui Club, where kids can play games or learn local crafts. At the central pool, there's water volleyball, water polo and water aerobics. The adults-only pool at the other end of the resort is home to the swim-up bar, La Balena, perfect for the two of you and a couple of frosty mai tais.
After a day of fun, head to El Comal for authentic Mexican food. Take a walk on the wild side and try Ensalada de Nopal en escabeche, or sample tender strips of cactus leaf, cooked in a copper pot. Follow up with Huachinango Mulato, grilled red snapper that's been marinated in dark-chili mulato sauce. For a romantic atmosphere and for a sizzling steak, La Terraza offers both.
Feel the need to move? Sign up for a tennis clinic or for a slower pace, try a guided class in yoga or tai chi. A 10-minute walk takes you to the picturesque little town of San Jose del Cabo. You'll rarely encounter a car as you browse an art gallery or a jewelry store. If you want more action, visit tourist-dominated Cabo San Lucas, 20 mi to the southeast.
A trip to the area isn't complete without a visit to the famous arch, El Arco, a rock formation that's a well-known landmark in Los Cabos. The Holiday Inn Resort is where you'll create the memories of a lifetime!
