Nicely kept and made for a great vaca. The few shortfalls included some of the food and the choice of activities at night was limited.

You get what you pay for.

Not great service - people don't like to deal with customers. Drinks are average, food is average. Drinks are all sugar. Make reservations every night at the included restaurants because the buffet gets repetitive. Pool and beach are nice.

Unforgettable Experience for an affordable price

I booked my vacation through cheapcarribean and needless to say it was flawless. Airlines were reliable and timely. Upon arrival, transfers to and from our hotel were handled, without any worry. The resort was big and beautiful with a very friendly staff. Lots of entertainment . Ideal for whatever you are looking for whether it be a couples getaway, a famiy experience, or fun time with friends. Also, good food and drink variety. Excursions were reasonably priced and well worth it. Dune-buggies is a must! There was also a representative from cheapcarribean at our resort daily to assist us if needed. Just dont forget your sunblock! Overall it was a great, worry-free experience and am looking forward to going again!

Fred the Peacock

We woke up each morning to find peacocks strolling up and down the path next to our villa. They were beautiful and a welcome surprise to someone who is used to seeing squirrels. We were able to hand feed one with a few slices of bread. A bird who likes bread? Named him Fred. :)

Not exactly! it is free to try out in the pool area but if you want to go into the ocean thats about $95.00 (American money) if you sign up at the resort.

We only stayed 2 days before we relocated to the Iberostar Dominicana who does offer scuba diving lessons for free in the pool every day. They also have scuba charters leaving from the resort each day. I do not believe IFA would offer this but not sure. They don't offer much and that's why they are much cheaper.

The 262 Villa rooms that the hotel has are divided into 23 independent bungalows, all one storey buildings with a garden area and a mixture of Spanish colonial and colourful Dominican style decoration. The Village and Ocean section rooms are located in buildings on three levels. All rooms have a french balcony or terrace (villas), fully equipped bathroom with hairdryer, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, refrigerator, Plasma TV with cable, telephone and, and for a fee, there is an in-room safe. There are also single rooms and rooms with connecting doors available upon request.

IFA Bavaro Village has 154 Superior rooms in two-storey buildings. 127 rooms are equipped with a double bed and 27 with a king size bed."

The property is split into two sections. The garden villas, located away from the noise and excitement of the main building, and the section close to the swimming pool and ocean called the Village

Getting reservations for the most desirable a la carte restaurants can be hard when the resort is busy, so choose what you want when you first arrive. The Village section can be a lot noisy, but, you are in the middle of the restaurants and activity areas which some people love.

This is one of the more affordable all-inclusive resorts in the Bavaro area, and will suit couples and families. The newly refurbished Village section is very comfortable with the latest flat screen TVs etc. The Villas section is definitely more laid back, but a little bit of a walk from the main pool area.

IFA Villas Bavaro Resort & Spa consists of the Village, and Ocean & Villas section. The Ocean & Villa section consists of villas which have the most beautiful typical Dominican architecture with colourful details. These are located away from the main pool area and restaurants. They are quieter. The Village section is centrally located close to the main pool and restaurants, and located closest to the beach. An extensive program of activities takes place every day in this area. There are three pools with integrated children's areas and sun terraces where you can relax or join one of the games or sports activities.

There are two buffet restaurants and a grill restaurant in this hotel as well as three more a la carte restaurants and a pizzeria. Our seven bars and the discotheque offer all-inclusive services.

The great variety of sports facilities offer activities for everyone, beginner to pro. Watersports such as water-skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing with a catamaran are appreciated by our customers as well as tennis, basketball, beach soccer, and beach volleyball.
