Best beach in Riviera Maya!

No rocks! Only soft sand in the water! Hair dryer was tricky, quit working if you stopped in middle of drying hair. Didn't appreciate up sell from concierge when I arrived to go to 90 minute program...even for free spa treatment! I was there to just be. Everyone else took 'no, thank you' first time. Very friendly staff and room was very comfortable and clean. The path through the mini rain forest could cause a problem for someone with balance issues, but there is another route to the pool and beach area. All in all a good experience.

Iberostar Tucan has changed

While we still love this hotel and it's employees, it has changed over the years we have been here. The fun music associated with pool games and activities is gone, the beach part has been toned down, the food has changed significantly, and repeat guests now mean nothing to the hotel. We have been to this resort many many times and have referred friends and family on multiple occasions and the hotel has no referral or return procedure in place. Other than that the grounds are still beautifully maintained, the hotel has still maintained the jungle charm we return year after year for, and the star friends still do a fantastic time making your vacation fun. Every one of the service staff from waiters, waitresses, bartenders, cocktail servers, housekeeper etc, did an amazing job. The beach was beautifully groomed each day and the ocean crystal clear blue Caribbean water.

Tired of Room game

Iberostar Tucan could be a wonderful place to vacation if we didnt have to play the room game every time. It seems that customer service has become an opportunity to make money. This is the second time we have stayed there and each time, had to tip the staff to get a room closer to the beach area. The tip isnt even enough; you have to stay in one room the first night and then move to a new room. The Mexican room shuffle. We asked that they move our luggage (which was packed and ready) when the new room was ready because we would be out on a tour, and they said they would, but didnt because the bell boy would have missed out on a tip, so we had to deal with this when we got back from the tour, and tip the bell boy again. The new room had a leak coming from the ceiling, which was reported to maintenance, but they didnt do anything about it. We were afraid the ceiling would come down on us. On the positive side, the food was wonderful in both the buffets and specialty restaurants. Diana, the chef, was always pleasant and does a wonderful job with the food. It improved since our last visit two years ago. The shows have also improved greatly. The grounds are clean, the animals and jungle trails well cared for, and the new grotto (under construction last time we were there) was beautiful. We really appreciated the added security on the beaches, guarding our belongings and looking out for us. We always felt safe, Sue at the desk in the front lobby was fun and full of energy, always greeting us and asking if we were enjoying ourselves.

Not one of our better trips

Food was fair, service not as good as most of the resorts we've been to in the past. Very clean resort , although rooms could use updating, Problem checking in, room was not ready when it should of been, could not accommodate our request for a king bed, trip was on our anniversary and they were giving us double beds, moved us the second day.
