Wonderful, can't wait to go back!

You will really miss out of if you do not visit this resort! The grounds are just beautiful and I loved having all of the animals around. Listening to the loud birds, peacocks and the growling of the monkeys was great! Never experienced any reptiles, so I was glad about that! Staff and people there are wonderful. Food was ok to good. I have a sensitive stomach so no matter what I did, I was sick a couple of times with the bug stuff. Didn't like lack of choice of beers and limited top shelf liquors. Also did not like having to have reservations for the restaurants. You'd call and they said they were booked, but you walked by them and they were half empty. So we did do pretty well with just going to the restaurant and try to just get in to eat without having a reservation. Rooms are very nice -- clean and we had no issues other than the a/c not really keeping up with the heat/humidity - so having a ceiling fan was very helpful. I loved it and will go back!!

Most Awesome Vacation Ever

We usually do not write reviews but after our stay we knew we had to. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by smiles and warmth by the staff in an airy, beautiful and inviting lobby decorated in marble, greenery and modern furnishings. Check in was smooth, quick and the staff was incredibly accomadating, and there were no issues. The walk out to our room/restaurants was absolutely gorgeous with breathtaking ponds, foliage, waterfalls, small animals and birds. Our room was clean, nicely decorated (loved the bathroom), with an amazing view (we were right off the beach and the pool). The beach itself is beautiful as well as the large pool area. The staff takes pride in keeping the resort immaculate, being friendly, and making sure that you have a great time. All the food was also fantastic and the chefs come out periodically to make sure that you are well taken care of. The bar staff was also amazing. Although this is a family resort (we didn't take our.Kids) it was a dream couples trip and we really enjoyed ourselves. This resort is five star for atmosphere (animals, cleanliness, activities, food). We will definitely be back to this resort as soon as we can.

overbook rooms

They overbook our room and the first night they moved us to another hotel. Waisted time in double check-in and check out. Very unprofessional in my opinion.

Little Piece Of Paradise

We loved Iberostar Tucan! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were breathtaking, and if you are an animal lover, this is the place for you. The howler monkeys were my favorite. At approximately 6pm they would come play in the trees outside my room. I watched them for hours. And there are peacocks walking around everywhere - they are beautiful. Now if you are a light sleeper, I won't deny that the peacocks and monkeys are a bit noisy in the early morning. We took a white noise machine that I played at night, and that helped. There are other interesting animals running around, but they are not aggressive at all. They keep a safe distance. The pools, beaches and grounds were very clean. Our room was very nice. My daughter and I are picky eaters, so I won't deny that their food is a little different. The breakfast foods were similar to ours, and very, very good. And we really liked the Steak House. The buffet is very nice and offers a variety of food, so we always found something there that we could eat. At first I was worried about having to walk so much. But the Bell Hops will give you rides on their golf carts, or the stone path through the jungle is a shortcut. And the jungle is amazing. I enjoyed walking on the different paths through the jungle area and seeing picturesque waterfalls and the wildlife. The presentation that they talk you into attending to become a member, it's only supposed to be an hour and a half, but was more like 3 hours (with breakfast). It's rather high pressure salespeople - they're really good at what they do, but if you are able to say "No" it's worth it, because they give you reward options - we chose the free massages. OMGosh - they were wonderful. I do need someone from CheapCaribbean to contact me though . . . when we got to the resort, our name was not in the system. So I don't know what happened. My advice - call ahead to make sure they have you in their system and take your confirmation email. I had mine thank goodness! Also, you can call ahead for restaurant reservations - I didn't know this. We arrived on a Tuesday and were not able to get into the Steak House until the following Monday. The girl told me I could have called ahead. Overall, this was probably one of my very favorite vacations. So relaxing! We will most likely return to this resort next year!
