Pretty Good
This was a good resort. Not fantastic, not terrible. My areas of concern:
The workers were more engaged with one another then they were with us.
The restaurants were ALMOST impossible to get into. The earliest reservation was 6:30 and sometimes we couldn't get in until 9:00. One night we ate at 9:00 then had to be up the next day at 6:30 for a tour and that was way too late to eat. If they started seating earlier than 6:30 it would be easier to get into.
There wasn't alot of planned activities at the resort. There should have been music blasting all the time and the entertainment staff present at all times.
Overall, the resort was very good! Loved the pool and beach. Where was the hot tub? Very satisfied with the gift shop and the tours that were offered. Would go back here again.

Great Jamaican locale
Great resort. Beach was very nice for swimming especially at the Rose Hall Beach area where it is more natural than over at the Suites or Grand.
Buffett was excellent. The restaurants were good. The Cajun was the most disappointing since the spicing really was not Cajun at all; very bland.
Rooms were a disappointment but the remaining resort made up for that. Rooms smelled musty and old. Iberostar should address this issue. While a hotel on the beach is exposed to high humidity, these rooms smelled awful, especially at first. Something about the bedding or mattresses.... perhaps it is better not to know exactly what the issue is. Other guests we talked to had similar complaints so it may be an issue in general with this area/hotel.
Entertainment staff was very engaging... sometimes too much so.
Buffett was excellent with a wide variety of choices and well prepared food. Dishes were rotated. Housewines were very good. Red Stripe is the only beer choice despite a bar menu listing several others. Staff indicated they have never had these other selections... why they are listed remains a Jamaican mystery.
Serving staff and bartenders were all generally excellent.
Would definitely consider a repeat visit at some point.

Overall - Great Experience
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in February and overall, we had a wonderful time!
We've stayed in a few all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, and the staff here was beyond friendly and helpful. Although the pool area was left to be desired, the beach was very nice, and it was never hard to get chairs. There were always waitresses ready to take your drink order as well.
We were supposed to get a King size bed, but when we got there they said they didn't have any (not sure why this happened since that's what we booked...), but they offered us an amazing ocean view room instead, which we hadn't paid for. If you want 2 double (although they were a little bit bigger I think than a normal double) and an Ocean View, Room 2330 was awesome.
Food was definitely on the better side as far as an all-inclusive resort goes. I would probably skip the Cajun restaurant, but the Japanese Habachi place was delicious and fun. We were disappointed to not be able to get reservations at the Steak Restaurant, so make sure to make your reservations asap when you get there! The buffet always had something for everyone..lots of options and quality was surprisingly good.
The 3 Iberostar hotels are connected, (Beach, Grand, and Suites) and I only went to the Grand to check it out, and it definitely seemed a bit nicer with a lazy river, in the pool area. I wanted to originally stay there but there was no availability. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably stay at the Grand but the Beach was definitely a great time with very few complaints.

Best vacation ever
The place was fantastic and all the staff was really nice and easy going. We were able to make friends and we will defiantly be returning within the following year. Many couples that were there had been there before and kept returning to same resort because they were afraid to try other resorts. The entire quality of the resort was amazing

why is the price in the jone ad $749. pp for iberostar in jamaica and then $1042. on the next page?2 answers

Advertised pricing is based on the cheapest airfare out of a specific departure city, typically Miami or Fort Lauderdale. If you are leaving from a different city the price will go up, and the dates you are selecting can affect the price as well. Traveling over weekends, like Thursday to Monday, or over a holiday tends to make the trip more expensive.

There are 3 different hotels in the resort. All of varying levels. Rose Hall Beach = the worst one, but I stayed there and it was really nice but the food sucked. The other two only get nicer. Don't know much about them. Grand is the nicest, I think.
Sailchik3
There are THREE separate Iberostar Hotels at Rose Hall. The 'Beach' , The 'Suites', and the 'Grand'. The hotels are located all together in one area. The hotels have different proicing and may reflect the differences you are seeing.

I would call and speak to a representative _ I used Marie Richey - she found a price that wasn't published as well.

Hotel Only Booking2 answers
I would like to book hotel only for Iberostar but I cannot find how to do this. Can I book hotel only? How?
jf
You may book hotel only by going to the top left hand corner where you will see a gold box that states "Vacation Packages". There will be two tabs and you will want to select the tab that states "hotel only." This will allow you to book a package with no airfare. if you have any trouble you may contact CheapCaribbean at 1.800.915.2322.

DanielleCC

Yamon2012

You would need to purchase two rooms as the room accupancy requirements will only allow a maximum of two adults and two children per room. Feel free to call one of our Beach Experts if you woul like to discuss alternative properties that can accomodate a family of five.

This resort is about 20 minutes from the airport and bout a 15 minute cab ride to downtown Montego Bay..
ccsusan1
less than 30 mins
Anjee
20 min bus ride from the airport. 30 min ride by taxi to the "Hip Strip" which the hotel has a shuttle for for the late night partiers or shoppers. One of the main selling points for this hotel in my opinion. We were on the beach in no time.

Does the all inclusive drinks include American beers and top shelf liquors?2 answers
2 weeks ago
bud
The All inclusive had Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light. Most of the wine was Spanish Wine - as Iberostar is owned by a Spanish company. Finally, most of the booze was Appleton (rum) and they had off brand Vodka and Tequilla. But hey - it's Jamaica - drink the Rum.
jamaicanoproblem
The all inclusive plans generally include local brands . This resort mentions top quality brands which probably include some international brands, however probaly not the top shelf brands you are accustomed to in the US

For a cultural fix, you can take Jamaican-Creole patois lessons. Pop in at the neighboring Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for a run at the slot machines at the casino, or head over to the popular, 18-hole Cinnamon Hill Golf Course, before relaxing in the spa: the Relief Legs massage rejuvenates those tired muscles after a full day, or try the signature Milk Bath hydrotherapy for a relaxing, refreshing skin treatment.
You'll be ready for bed after a busy day of fun, and families think the Junior Suite Ocean Front Room is a great fit with two double beds, a spacious bathroom and a balcony with gorgeous views.
