Watching a romantic movie while drinking a bottle of wine does not make an adults-only getaway, even if you are using the good glasses. Accept no substitutes, and treat yourself and your sweetie to the definition of "adults-only" at the all inclusive Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso on the Mayan Riviera. THE IBEROSTAR GRAND IS, TRULY, GRAND!
THE IBEROSTAR GRAND PARAISO IS SUPERB. WE HAVE VISITED THE GRAND SINCE IT OPENED (5 YEARS AGO) AND THE OTHER IBEROSTAR ESTABLISHMENTS IN CANCUN FOR MANY YEARS PRIOR. THE GRAND KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER EACH YEAR!
EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING IN THE HOTEL ARE EXCELLENT....THE STAFF AND ITS SERVICES, THE ACCOMODATIONS (EVEN HAVE INTERNET HOOKUP IN THE SUITES NOW) , THE SERVICES, THE MEALS, THE BEVERAGES, THE SHOWS (EACH A BROADWAY PRODUCTION).
THE GRAND DOESN'T MISS A TRICK. IT GOES BEYOND NORMALCY WITH A MULTITUDE OF NICETIES -- FRUIT BASKET, FLOWERS, CANDY, DRINKS AND CHAMPAGNE IN THE ROOMS....YOU NAME IT, THE GRAND HAS IT. IF YOU DON'T NAME IT, THEY PROVIDE IT.
The Grand hotel is worth the difference in cost between the iberostar's Paraiso Maya if you are traveling with friends. Golf course is super convenient, in great condition and is fun to play for all level golfers including women. Lovely dining room service for lunch and dinner. we had some difficulty in making dinner reservations for 8 people but this may have been due to a large group that held reservations until the morning .
The butler came to the door of our beachfront suite and said, "Excuse me Mr. "X", but are you the one who ordered a (no charge) bottle of champagne delivered every day at 5 p.m.?" No, "Charlie", but tell whoever it is that I admire his style. This pretty well sums up the Iberostar Grand Hotel. We were spoiled almost beyond description during our week there. From the food the the service to the included 50-bottle wine list to the facilities, the Grand Hotel is easily the best all-inclusive resort we have ever visited, and I can't believe the price we got through Cheap Caribbean. This resort is not to be missed by those seeking the ultimate adults-only experience. Long live decadence!

With over 300 suites equipped with superb facilities guests will be able to relax in luxury. All suites offer one king or two double beds, a dining area and a fully furnished sitting room with comfortable sofa, a balcony or terrace, and even a hammock or swing. Suites also feature a cable TV, DVD player, CD clock/radio, safety box, telephone, iPod/MP3 docking station, marble bathrooms, Jacuzzi, Gilchrist & Soames amenties, mini bar and so much more.
The adults-only Iberostar Grand Hotel features lavish Roman architecture. Nightly live performances are performed in the on-site theatre, a miniature replica of the Roman Coliseum.
What We'd Change
This hotel is massive and can involve a good deal of walking. But the restaurants and bars are excellent benchmarks, where you can take a seat and recharge your trekking power.

As for water sports, have fun trying out the banana boat, or take a boat trip, go diving, jet skiing or parasailing, or try a sailing class, water skiing and wind surfing.
The hotel facilities include a CDC PADI GOLD PALM RESORT diving centre, run by DRESSEL DIVERS INTERNATIONAL. This centre organizes numerous boat trips and scuba diving and snorkelling excursions, as well as diving lessons and a host of other water sports and activities. Its comfortable boats are specially designed to enable divers to set off directly from the hotel's private beach.
The DRESSEL DIVERS INTERNATIONAL diving centres are members of PADI, although they also cater for divers belonging to any other organisation or federation.
