Nice vacation

Upon arrival at the resort the line was short to check in but took very long to get to the counter. Took 25 minutes to get to the counter and only one family was inline in front of us and two were at the counter already. When I got to the counter they told us ( my group was three people and two rooms) we would all be in one room. Luckily I printed the paper work from Cheap Caribbean because we had booked two rooms. They made us feel that it was our problem and that we would need to sign paper work and pay for the the second room because they only got a reservation for one room, which we were not willing to do as we had already paid for it. After another 30 minutes at the counter I finally got them to call Cheap Caribbean and they got their answer that we had two rooms. They never apologized for telling us that it was our problem, or trying to get us to pay for another room. So the check in process was horrible and the front desk service was not friendly to us. When we got to our rooms they were clean and airconditioned and nice. In the one room the safe was just sitting on the shelf not bolted in and unable to accept a password due to dead batteries. I had to go back to the front desk three times, three different days to get them to fix it. They did send a service tech out all three times. As far as everything else, the food was plentiful, but just ok at best. The service was excellent, servers, bartenders, room service, and entertainment staff. The pool was not too crowded and the beach was nice. Did not go in the water as it was pretty rocky although the Pier did have steps to walk in to the water there was a lot of boat traffic in that area.

We Had an Amazing Time

I did a lot of researching on this resort before I decided to pull the trigger and overall, I'm really happy that I did. This was my first time visiting Cozumel and I had an amazing time. I suggest reading other reviews to prepare for your stay and you will be set. The beach was absolutely WONDERFUL and my personal favorite part of the trip. The water is so clean and calm. I stayed in the water for hours every day we stayed (6 nights and 7 days). The actual sand area was nice and never felt overly crowded, my complaints from the beach have nothing to do with this resort and instead have to do with other guests (which is expected anywhere). Many other reviews complained a lot about the food being bland but I didn't have a problem with it. Yes, there are definitely certain food options that are pretty bland but there are also some really tasty selections as well. You will never go hungry at this place! There are so many options, my favorite was the main buffet at the front and the beach buffet was great too. We ate at the TexMex restaurant and while it was a nice break from the buffet environment- it wasn't anything to rave about. The pool is super crowded by the afternoon so we didn't hang there much. The daily activities were really fun too in case you wanted to do something different. We did air rifle shooting and archery (both were my first time) and it was a lot of fun. The nightly entertainment was great. All of the staff was very friendly and made sure that we were set each day. Things to look out for: just be aware when you arrive to the airport, you are going to be HAMMERED by sales people.. don't waste your time because cheapcaribbean reps are at the resort and much more pleasant to talk to (Oscar was wonderful and very helpful/knowledgeable). The driver who took us from the airport to the resort nearly gave me a heart attack by his driving- that is something I wish they would fix asap because no one wants to get injured before their trip has even started. The room was my least favorite part of the trip BUT it was not horrible. The bathroom was a decent size but doesn't have much room to hang things. I definitely recommended bringing a disposable anti humidity type of thing.. we got one for about $5 and just threw it away before leaving, it helped with the wet smell in the room. I see that starting in November they will be offering a bigger room so if we come back that is the route we will probably take BUT we didn't spend much time in the room anyway so like I said, the standard isn't horrible. Overall, I recommend this place for sure. We would definitely come back.

The Entire Family Loved It

This was our second time vacationing at an Iberostar. I really enjoyed the nightlife at our first Iberostar, so I was looking for a similar experience. I wanted to be able to enjoy the sun, do water aerobics and play games during the day, go to dinner with my family and have something to do after dinner rather than just sit around. This Iberostar provided that. There is an entertainment show every night put on by the staff that runs the games during the day. You can dance for a while after the show and for those still wanting to do something later, the Mexican restaurant offers snacks and plays music. The entertainment staff or as they are called, Star Friends are great. You can always find them around with a smile on their face, offering any help they can. We enjoyed getting to know most of them. The crowd favorite was Alex. He was always eating with families, chatting with people, and is an extremely talented dancer. One night he even came over to our table and performed magic tricks. He was a favorite running the pool games or water aerobics. I heard from many of the people we met how much fun he made the games. All the Star Friends are very talented dancers and made the night shows so much fun to watch or be a part of. We loved our vacation!
