Nice getaway

My boyfriend and I didn't really notice via the pictures online that this entire resort is technically outside when we booked. If you don't mind the heat then this place is for you. We went around July 4th and it was very hot so when we found out that pretty much everything was outside as far as restaurants/bar/entertainment area we were slightly disppointed but we made the best of it. Only areas with AC are your room and bathrooms and the gift shop. The week before we arrived they had a major storm so the mosquitos were out and about. Luckily the gift shop sold Off lotion and we literally were applying it in the lobby as we were getting eaten up alive while we waited to check into our room that wasn't ready when we arrived. Everyone was very helpful and friendly for the most part except for one young man behind the front desk. He had a slight attitude problem. The star friends are sure to make you feel at home and Orlando even sat with us one day for lunch. Overall we had a great time.

Great Vacation 2017

Great resort, hotel staff was excellent, room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the great food at the buffet over the restaurants. Rita our housekeeper made a beautiful towel "origami" animal each day. Snorkeling at the hotel pier was better than the snorkeling trip... (take some bread). Nice view from the top of the Southern lighthouse. We didn't scuba dive but there seemed to be lots of scuba boats/trips. Issues: We would have liked a luggage rack. We rearranged the furniture to use an end table. There was only 1 chair on the deck... we used a room chair as the 2nd one. The shows which involved guests as "contestants" were not very good for us. When you get to the airport you will most likely be ushered to a time share kiosk when asking about transportation. We got lost twice trying to find our room at night (use map they give you).

The resort is really beautiful and the staff goes above and beyond to help you. While the beach was beautiful, the ocean floor was rocky and not sandy, which is great for snorkelers or scuba divers (the reef is very nice), but not what I had in mind when planning my trip. The buffet food is below average and lacked flavor, while the restaurants at the resort were great. The wildlife is gorgeous. I loved the swim up bar in the pool!
