great honeymoon
It was awesome. way more for my money than i expected. and cheapcarribean really was a good experience. I read as many reviews of this resort as i could before buying and the place was very much like the reviews said. here are the cons: (High humidity plus stone/brick walls= mildew + mildew smell) not too bad but gave the room a semicave like smell, one plug-in airfreshener and you wouldnt even notice. Food is average. not bad but not great. I still ate a ton more than i should have.
Pros: Great location as last resort before wildlife reserve so pretty quiet and great access to amazing scuba and snorkling. Great ambiance also with the grounds being very well maintained. the peacocks, flamingos, turtles, iguanas and other birds give the place a very cool tropical feel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. bed was a bit hard but you can ask for a foam topper if you want. I actually enjoyed the firm bed. hammock on the front porch was awesome and my new wife and I ended every day in ours. the dive shop is awesome and the guides are great. We did the beginner scuba and it was great so we did it again the next day. it was like being in finding nemo. so awesome. i loved the whole experience. great trip at a great price. but make sure you request a room more on the south or east of the resort because there is a restaurant on the north/west side that plays music pretty loud in the evenings
The hotel is great. The grounds are amazing and well maintained. The plantation is full and colorful and the wildlife is a nice touch! Peacocks, flamingos and birds give a great feel. The pool is also great and so is the wet bar!! The beach has sand and palm trees all the way to the water but the area in the water is too rocky to swim!! Great for suntanning though! Plenty of food and great taste as well! We did try the steakhouse restaurant and the cuts of meat were excellent and very well cooked as well! The most impressive part of the hotel was the staff! Extremely attentive, friendly and fast! They give the ultimate great touch to a very good hotel!! Perfect recommendation for someone who wants to chill out, relax and forget everything else!
We had an awesome trip. We took our five teenagers and the very best thing about this resort--by far--is the entertainment and the recreation. The staff pulls people in to participate and they make everyone feel involved. We absolutely loved the evening shows. The people are very friendly and helpful and we did not have one complaint. The rooms are just okay--no bathtub and they are very small. But we spent very little time in the rooms. The food is good. The beach is rocky and you need water shoes to swim. For us it was the perfect family vacation for the money and we would definitely go back.
The food and service were fantastic. The price was excellent.
Only negatives were the hard lumpy beds and the shower water which was very weak. I did not bother complaining but which I had. will not stay again unless I get a guarantee that these 2 things are fixed.
The beach was beautiful but mainly for snorkelling not walking out to swim because of the rocks

Can you go topless on the beach and the resort?9 answers

odie
All of the beaches in Mexico are public, so nude sunbathing is not permitted and topless sunbathing is not encouraged, however it is not unusual to see some topless sunbathers on the beach.
KateB
no, you cannot go topless. The dress code was conservative.
Scampalina
Allowed on the beach only.
Anchorman
I was told that the beach is topless (but not the pool) Fortunately everyone kept their tops on!
Trudita
Hi Odie,
I just got back Fri, after being there for a week. I think the answer is 'optional'. There was one couple on the beach, and she went topless. Saw her at the beach two days. Saw no one topless by the pool.
Hope that helps!
AirMike
This is frowned upon....
CantWaitForVaca
I did not see anyone topless at this resort. I was told the topless resorts were on the other side of the island. They did not have an adults only area but they did have 2 rooms you could upgrade to that had private swimming pools. I am sure you could go topless there.
AmyLyn
Only on the beach.

Does the beach or pool close at certain time1 answer

Gigi
The pools and beach typically "close" at dusk, meaning that the lifeguards are off duty at that time and guests swim at their own risk.
