Iberostar is an awesome place

The resort is nice, 4 star for room in reference to a very large luxurious resort for example. The room has comfortable bed and mini fridge that they keep stocked, a nice flat screen with some American language cable shows, but nothing over the top fancy. For the price, it is unique and more intimate than the larger resorts and very special place particularly because of the staff. So sweet, humble and friendly. Definitely a scuba certified or enthusiast resort but fun activities like snorkeling, kayaking and free scuba instruction anytime you want. We really enjoyed the food, the breakfast buffet and Asian restaurant and steak restaurant were our favorites. You need to make reservations for the restaurants. Also the nightly entertainment is nothing like I have seen at a resort before. They are great shows and the entertainers are sweet people that work in the resort during the day, getting you to do all kinds of fun activities, like archery or rifle shooting, beach volleyball, pool yoga, pool basketball. Most of the guests participate I think because of the staff are genuinely great high energy but not annoying people. We will definitely be back. Just be aware that the hotel and activities people are sales people too. You can politely decline or take them up in there fun packages, but they are not too pushy, which is nice. Love Iberostar, but not for the single parties looking for a crazy drunk fest. It's a fun mix of families, younger and older couples. We had a blast!

Best vacation ever

I have never been treated so well in my life.. Everyone was friendly and did everything in their power to make my stay enjoyable. I loved the feel of the grounds and enjoyed the flamingos, peacock, etc. Our room was cleaned daily and the towel sculptures were always a pleasant surprise. The mini fridge was stocked daily and the air conditioning was perfect. The pools, beach etc were always clean and there was always something to do. There was plenty of room to relax alone on the beach with a waitress there to bring you anything you desired. I wish I could give a review on each person that I encountered because each one was a 5 star personality. It made me want to come back asap and bring my whole family to enjoy this beautiful resort since the price of the trip was within a family budget and with something for all ages.

Great time for a greater price

I have never been to Cozumel or even an Iberostar before going on this vacation (10-02-16 to 10-08-16). To say it was the nicest and best looking resort I have ever been to would be an understatement. The staff were so nice and comforting it was as if we were VIP guests. The food was pretty good but the traditional buffet style gets old after a while. The night restaurants that you must make reservations for, so get that done the second you check in, were amazing. Its five star dinning at the price of inclusive which you cant beat. Everyone was so helpful and happy to serve and assist you. The other guests were so nice and welcoming to anyone who had never been on the resort before. Its no wonder why most the guests there had been there at least 6-8 times in the past. Its a small town feel with big city entertainment. Drinks are amazing. Shows are amazing. And I am sure you already know but the water and diving is the best! Great dive shop for you divers and the best coral reefs I have ever seen. I will be making this an annual vacation spot. Thanks Iberostar!!

Hits the sweet spot!

This place seems to hit the sweet spot, in so far as it being very clean, friendly and helpful staff, decent fitness center, good food, etc. It's not a five star resort, but it's close. A few caveats: it's a twenty minute taxi ride to town. Also, one small area of the resort is close to where their water treatment area is located, and sometimes has an 'off smell'. The resort is also literally just a few hundred meters from the Pallancar reef, so the diving is only a few minutes away.
