Great Experience except for Timeshare Offer

I really liked the Iberostar Bavaro, it was quiet, clean, the service was good, it felt safe and overall met all of my expectations. I used the pools which tended to have a lot of kids, so I opted to go to the beach most of the time. Which was so comfortable under the sun or under the shady huts. The dining was good, although by the 3rd day at the buffet it got a little boring. We wanted to make reservations at the al la carte restaurants but they were completely booked, so that was frustrating. But the service and staff were very attentive and helpful. The evening entertainment was good, we especially loved the sunset dinner and entertainment on the beach. Iberostar really went to alot of effort to do this and it made for a very memorable night. The spa and gym are new buildings and really nice. The rooms are a little dated, but we are on vacation - we dont spend time in the rooms!! The only down side to the experience was the breakfast to learn about the Iberostar membership/time-share, the representatives took 2 hours of our vacation to end the offer very rudely. The representatives, really upset me and made us feel very uncomortable. DO NOT fall for the free offer associated for sitting though a time share offer. The representatives are extremely rude, and really ruined by R & R state of mind. I am on vacation, not interested in disrespectful, rude people with attitude. All in all, it was good a experience.

Disappointed

I was so looking forward to this vacation but it turned out to be the worst. We travel often to different parts of the Caribbean and I had been to punts Cana about 12 years ago. This resort was awful. Beat up rundown the service was bad with the exception of a few (Michael, Alex and the older lady at the beach bar) who really tried there best to make us happy. They were closing down for renovations 2days after our departure and all we heard the employees say were how they wanted the hotel to close down already. Made us feel so welcomed lol I couldn't believe it. We went to celebrate my daughter and my husbands birthday but had I known it was going to be this way I'd never would've booked our stay at the iberostar bavaro. The ONLY highlight was the Beach. That I will 5 stars but the resort 0 if I could. The AC was weak. Someone came to "fix" but we didn't see the change. One night the power went off so yea we sweated our behinds off. The food was less than desirable..whenever we asked for something they would tell us they didn't have it available and because they were closing they were not restocking anything.....not food or liquor!!! The pool was a sess pool. Dirty, felt slimy full of mosquitos and leaves. Cracks at the bottom of the pool, The handrails were broken. For what I paid this was UNACCEPTABLE. We only went once to the pool and felt bad because my daughter really wanted to go but even she was turned off by how gross it looked. We were there a week. For her birthday we did do an excursion which was really fun. We say that was the best part of the trip. The HIGHLIGHT was the night before we were to leave Punta Cana the lady came in to do the turn down service while we went out to dinner. The next morning the safe was open and a note saying to call the locksmith to come and fix it.... Of course when we counted our money my husband was missing $200 dollars. Omgggggg this has never happened to us. We couldn't do much because we had a morning flight back home. This is by far the worse place I've ever stayed at. DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT.

PARADISE!!!!!!!

This is the 4th time I've been to Iberostar Resorts it is WONDERFUL... The resort is very clean the food was good, large variety, very fresh, for anyone who is vegan NO PROBLEM. The bed was very comfortable nice mattress, bedding high quality, pools were super. Had no problem with anything. Would go again in a heart beat, and will. Had no encounter with any bugs of any kind, took bug spray didn't use it, but we weren't out late at night, so maybe that's when they come out.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive on the all-awesome Bavaro Beach.

Lucy's Club for the kiddos - sand castle-making, face-painting, movies & more.

Chilling with collagen treatments and Thai massages at the stress-defeating spa.

The disco "DC-6" that's styled after an airplane & the DJ that spins tunes in a cockpit.

What We'd Change

This place is seriously gigantic, but we love that golf carts are available for getting where we need to go.

Why You Should Go

It's 30 minutes from the airport - your dreamy Dominican escape will kick in before you know it.

You can enjoy privileges at the other two Iberostars - Dominicana and Punta Cana.

Dressel Divers is right on the beach - get your scuba on.

There's a casino where you can hang with Lady Luck - don't keep her waiting.
