Caribbean Jim's Comments:

What I love about this resort:
I love the whale watching bar....sitting back with a nice drink watching whales by day or the stars by night. A really nice spot to relax. This hotel is very popular so don't be surprised if you meet someone at the pool that's stayed here before. The location close to downtown Cabo San Lucas is very convenient for all the activities Cabos is famous for (both day and night).
What I wish I could change:
The beach here is wide and long but not swimmable. The large pool offers a great alternative to find relief from the sun.
Why YOU should go:
Fishing, golfing, spa or family fun....Los Cabos offers it all and the Hotel Finisterra offers you a great vantage point to take it all in.

The incredible natural beauty and a unique location of Cabo San Lucas combine to make Hotel Finisterra an unforgettable choice for your Cabo San Lucas getaway.

Hotel Finisterra is located at the tip of the Baja peninsula in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, approximately 1,000 miles south of the San Diego border. Perched on a hill, the hotel overlooks the town of Cabo San Lucas, with the Sea of Cortez to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The location of the hotel offers incredible views complemented by a feeling of seclusion, but also provides easy access to the center of town.

The resort maintains tradition, as families and couples return annually to renew acquaintances. The original buildings rest on elaborate stone foundations surrounded by boulders. A contemporary beachfront tower complements the look with a rough cement exterior. Waterfalls drop down a rock cliff between the two sections and an aerial walkway connects the two sections.

Three expansive, freeform pool complexes with sun decks are set in terraces to the beach. The lower-level complex comprises a heated pool containing a shallow children's area and four eight-person spa tubs. The mid-level complex comprises a heated pool with swim-up bar and two four-person spa tubs. The upper-level complex consists of an unheated pool and a four-person spa tub.

A small fitness center with sauna contains a Universal gym and a cardio machine as well as a room for massage and nail care. Complimentary supervised children's activities are offered near one of the pools Tuesday-Sunday.

The hotel just opened a brand new business center with a bank of high-speed computers and wi-fi service. It also offers an array of reading materials plus 5 flat-screen tv's in a relaxed club setting offering news and sports from around the world and boasts 2 private meeting rooms which are ideal for small groups mixing business with pleasure at the property.

Although it's ideal for strolling and observing sea life, the beach is not safe for swimming because of strong undertows. Safe swimming and water sports are available at Medano Beach on the Sea of Cortez 2.25 km (1.5 mi) away. Whale-watching excursions are available from Cabo San Lucas during the January-March migration of gray whales.

Use of two lighted tennis courts is complimentary during the day, with a surcharge for after-dark play.
