Value and effort abundant

We booked this trip as a quick get away from the cold. It was expected to be a home base for scuba diving. Every time we turned around we could see the effort being made to keep the resort clean and comfortable. Each night and day there was a fish dish that was fantastic. Food options were more than we expected in a small resort. It was located in a quieter area of town but was a comfortable (sidewalk) walk into town or north to the lighthouse. The real sand beach walk was on the other side of the island.

escape to cozumel

booking thru cheap caribbean went well for this solo female traveler. I decided on this location from guidance from a gal at work, safe town, could walk from hotel to town to shop. could go to drugstore grocery store too for sunblock chips, noodles. No sign of any bugs. Pool water was cold. I spent my tome on the Caribbean sea side in a beach chair, better view, better sun. Interesting to watch the snorklers and scuba people. Great view of the cruise ships coming to town. The maids did a great job on room each day. One thing the shower tub seemed quite high up from ground, older people might have trouble getting in/out. the water to fill tub comes from shower head. Paper thin walls could hear the neighbors getting it on, it only lasted less than a minute. Food at breakfast lunch was across the street, Marta makes great omelets, and eggs made to order. Fresh fruit, salads each meal, cheeses, lunchmeats, desserts. I can see where people get tired of the dinners and lots of people go into town for dinner. bartenders and wait staff did a nice job with the all you can drink drinks lots of variety: rum punch, mojitos, pina colada rum and coke, and lemon Drop. I hadnt been to Mexico in 30 years so it was a good experience for me.

Nice Place to Stay

My wife and I stayed here the week of December 19th. Overall we had a great stay. Room - simple but nice with a balcony overlooking the pool. Unfortunately our room had 2 double beds (we thought we reserved a King) which was our only complaint about the room. Food - good - but not amazing. Though totally reasonable for the price of our stay. Location - great. 20 minute walk to center of town. Taxis everywhere. Service - very good. Attentive bartenders and wait staff around pool area and Dining areas. Overall friendly and helpful staff. *Recommend asking the front desk for the little Blue Guide to Cozumel. The guys at the podium in the front have it! We didn't find it until the last couple days - wish we had it on day 1. It's loaded with helpful information about Cozumel complete with a map and tips about restaurants and places to see etc.

Cozumel at Christmas

Stayed at the Hotel Cozumel and Resort. The hotel itself was ok, service was poor and the food was not delicious. Paid a lot of money to be all-inclusive but felt I didn't get any service unless staff thought I was going to tip them. Stay away from 'hour sales' pitch. It took 6 hours for us after saying no a million times and gave us nothing. They basically stole a whole days vacation. SMH
