Second visit, friendliest staff
We stayed at the Lady Hamilton for 9 days in early May, 2012.
This was our second visit to this resort. We booked a one bedroom suite, with a separate bedroom, living room and bathroom with separate shower and two person jacuzzi tub. There was a balcony off the bedroom and another one off the living room. We stayed in a junior suite on our first visit and were very happy with both rooms. The maid service was very good and included turn down service every night.
The service at the buffets and restaurants was very good. Staff were friendly and hard working. We enjoyed talking to all the workers we met every day. They had great senses of humour and helped to make our vacation memorable.
There were plenty of loungers around the infinity and adult pools with palapas and palm trees providing shade. The infinity pool is huge, with loungers throughout to relax in the water.
The resort is beautifully landscaped. The Infinity Bar was a great place to gather for drinks before and after dinner.
The beaches are secluded bays and there are no vendors. There is a nice snorkelling area near Coral Beach.
We were very happy with the service through Cheap Caribbean as well. We would recommend both the Lady Hamilton and Cheap Caribbean highly.
First the positive.... The resort is absolutely beautiful!! The pools are large and the grounds of the resort are very clean. THe food was also very good.
In general all the employees are very friendly and there is security very present throughout the resort.
Now the not so positive... The people working at the front desk were not particularly friendly or helpful, but they were the only employees we encountered that were not. We had a very long wait to check in (over an hour standing in line) and then our reservation requests were not honored (no double beds, only king beds for our 3 rooms for 6 women). Pull out couch is not something you would want to sleep on, might be ok for a child.
One room was very musty and we were not able to leave our door open because we were on the first floor. The first morning we flooded the bathroom with shower water and housekeeping came more that 8 hours later, when most of the water had seeped into the floor and nothing was left to be cleaned up- guess that explained the musty odor. Another room did not have working air conditioning for 1/2 of our trip.
You get 1 one water bottle per person in your in-room fridge per day. KEEP IT and the bar staff will happily refill it for you. Otherwise water is not readily available. A friend and I went for a run our first morning (gym doesn't open until 9am) and could not find water. the front desk did not have any and they suggested we get the bottles from our room, which we drank the night before. The only place we could find water was by walking into a restaurant and asking the wait staff for a few cups, which they graciously gave us.
As I said before the food was really good at al the restaurants and buffets , but you have to what a long time to get in to some of the restaurants because they do not allow you to make reservations. You can put your name on a list, but then you have to check back every 20 minutes or so to make sure you haven't missed your table.
Overall beautiful place, good food, and mostly great staff. Improve front desk, be more responsive with housekeeping issues, have water more readily available and this place could be spectacular!!
The trip itself was just ok, I have stayed at better resorts the food was just ok, the room was always musty smell and damp, I prefer a smaller resort it was just too big waiting for a cart to take you somewhere was ridiculous and the spa was awesome but expensive, hot tubs where all broke. just ok

Needs improvement
No room service. For a four star resort not to have room service is unheard of. There are also no elevators. We were on the third level and had to walk up and down the steps everyday :( Restaurants were always packed at dinner. We had to actually wait to be seated, just like at home. Sometimes for up to an hour ! Service was slow and not professional at times. My daughter saw a cock roach in the room, that did it for her ! There were also small ants all over the room. There was a charge for premium pillows too ! The pillows were so hard too. Not what I would expect from such a popular resort. I was not impressed at all, sorry....

resort fees2 answers
i want to book a package at the sheraton in nassau. i'm concerned about resort fees. does anyone know if the total price includes the $40/nt mandatory fee imposed by the resort?
1 year, 15 months ago
mrsmatt
Great question! Short answer: Yes!
All CheapCaribbean.com pricing includes mandatory fees (such as daily resort fees, bellmans fees, maids fee, etc.). We strive to make our clients' trips go as smoothly as possible.
A few things that may not be included in the hotel rates may be incidental fees, which may vary from resort to resort and are only a hold on the account. Incidental fees are assessed directly from the property in the event that additional services are purchased. For example: spa services are billed to your room, damages to the room occur during your stay or other scenarios such as those.
GetawayGuru
Once we got there everything was paid for. We did tip our waiters and maids, but you don't have to.

Any security guards at any of these resorts?11 answers
1 year, 15 months ago
Kay
Most resorts do have security on site to ensure that those on property are guests of the resort. Since many of the resorts in Jamaica are all inclusive, the resorts make every effort to ensure that only those who are supposed to be there are allowed on property.
KateCC
Yes, I regularly saw security guards patroling the grounds.
Thom
Yes, they have ,any and the patrol the grounds regularly. I felt very safe!

I was there about two weeks ago. There were security guards that walked and were visible throughout the property. I felt very safe in the property.
SSamy
Kay,
There is security at the gates, it is walled and fenced at the peremeter and there are guards through out. I have never seen unwanted guest and we have been there 3 times.

Should we make reservations for the sit down restaurants before we go?
Is there a limit to the number of times you can eat at the sit down restaurants?

Mcmurray
YES MAKE SURE U MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR THE SITE DOWN RESTAURANTS. THERE IS NO LIMIT
MrFlySoHigh
The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton does not require reservations to dine at any of their ala carte restaurants-first come-first served, with no limits.
ccsusan1
No not really. Because we really didn't wait that long.15 min the Max.
I think there is because they ask you your room number. But why would you eat in the same place the same night. so many restaurants and they give you a lot of food.
Anonymous
DEFINTLY MAKE RESERVATIONS!
no limit....
Anonymous
We were told upon arrival they do not take reservations- what you do is go to where you want to eat and if there is a wait you can go sit at the bar and they'll call you when a table is ready- best to get there early if you are hungry. The portions may be smaller than what we are used to in the states but since you are not paying you can get whatever you want, and there's always a salad bar.
There is no limit- you could eat at the beachside seafood restaurant (our favorite) every single night if you want! Great place to get there early and watch the sunset- very romantic, there was even a small wedding party there one night.
Also we thought the creole restuarant and Indian restaurant were way underrated and there was never a wait!
(of course it depends how crowded the whole resort is I suppose)
suekb
We were there just last week and they were not taking reservations. First come first served.
apriltraveler
We tried to make reservations and they wouldn't take them. First come first serve. The steak house was the longest wait and really not worth the wait. If you go to eat at 5:30 to 6:00 no problem. After 6:00 will be a bout 30 to 60 minute wait, Just go to the outside bar and have a drink. Wait isn't bad.
There is no limit
rasky
I know there is not a limit to the number of times you can frequent one place. I am almost positive they don't take reservations.
JeannieC
I don't think a reservation is needed. We had troubles one night getting a seat in one of the restaurants, so we waited until the next day and went.
MeFitz
We made our reservations when we got there they tell you to have it done before two o'clock and we made our reservations all at once and there was no limit on what restaurant we ate at.
PEGGY33
Reservations are not accepted for the restaurants. Later dinner times is your best bet... i.e. 8'sh. You can eat at any of the restaurants as many times as you would like. May I suggest the Indian restaurant? It's very good! In the Italian restaurant...don't order the calamari (ick). Also, the burgers on the beach are amazing!! A must have if you eat meat. I don't like burgers but had one every day:-)
Indianapolis
Check with the front desk when you check in on whether you can make reservations or not - not sure if everyone can. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary - which we informed them of ahead of time - and they gave us a special RED wrist band - which supposedly let us make reservations.... We did it once. The other nights we just showed up, in some cases we had a little wait - not too bad - one time we decided to head to a different restaurant due to a 30 minute wait....
No limit to how many time you eat at any restaurants! Food was fabulous. We did not have a bad meal OR DESERT!

which room has the jaquzzi?11 answers
this package comes with the jr. suite and that does not say it has one but the upgrade (one bed room suite) states in the description that it has one in the bathrooms. i have seen the one bedroom suites on youtube and there were no jaquzzis but i saw a studio with one. well all in all i have no idea, all i want is a jaquzzi.

The Jr. Suites have a very large bathtub with jets. I guess it is not a real jacuzzi but we enjoyed it. It is larger than a regular tub.
TaooftheCaribbean
most of their rooms are jr. suites and they all have jacuzzi's.

I just got back from my Honeymoon in Jamaica (Grand Palladium) and i stood in a 1 bedroom suite and yes it does have a Jacuzzi.

We upgraded to the 1 bedroom suite and had a great bathroom with a big jaquzzi tub and a seperate large shower.
jrfrog
All the suites have a jaquzzi tub big enough for 2. The honeymoon suite has the biggest one.
Walrus
We had the junior suite and had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom.
CaribbeanBound
Hey Tina,
I know pretty much all junior suites comes with a Jacuzzi.
Agent2014
Not sure if Jr. Suites have jacuzzis, but the Villa suites definitely have oversized 2-person jacuzzis; as well as an outdoor private shower. Worth the upgrade!
NVanDe
We had one in the (king)one bedroom suite inside the bathroom.
ChuckE
We just came back from the Lady Hamilton a few weeks ago and stayed in a Jr. Suite. Ours had a a jaquzzi in the bathroom and was medium size (great for one person...a bit tight for two). I think the bigger suites come with a jaquzzi twice the size of the Jr. Suites.

The beaches at this resort have the rare combination of white sand, clean water, very little seaweed, and lush vegetation that provides shade on a hot day. This generally extends to the grounds and and pool.

The resort offers shows and games in the theater nightly. There is also the Boogie Woogie night club, which is air-conditioned and is open from 11pm-2am. How many people are at the club and out and about at night can vary greatly depending on the current clientele at any given time, however.
KristinCC
Poor. the casino is nothing. The dance club is empty and the live music isn't always very good. There are shows nightly, but we missed them all because we were stuck in restaurants.

Reignite Romance at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa
Imagine warm bubbles trekking upward in the private Jacuzzi in a villa suite, while you and your sweetie snuggle together and enjoy the stunning view of the Caribbean through the window. Pure fantasy? Not when you stay in the villa suites for couples at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa! Just 40 minutes west of Montego Bay, this all inclusive resort is set on an isolated stretch of coast outside the charming village of Lucea.
Jaws drop the moment guests set eyes on the stunning, 86,000-sq-ft pool with four Jacuzzis. Jutting out into the vast circular pool is a two-story structure housing the Blue Lagoon Restaurant, one of the resort's three buffet restaurants. Four open decks offer panoramic views of pool and sea.
After a dip in the couples-only pool, you and your sweetheart can enjoy a romantic stroll along the picturesque beach at Sunset Cove. This beach, home to the resort's Water and Diving Center and surrounded by natural reefs, is a great place to try snorkeling, kayaking or windsurfing for an afternoon adventure. Or, for a more leisurely excursion, your honey may suggest a pedal boat or basking in the sun at the resort's two other beaches.
With three buffet restaurants and seven A la carte options, you'll never be bored at dinner. Your biggest dilemma is deciding where to start. Is tonight an evening for grilled rack of lamb with Mediterranean herbs at Reggaetoni, the cleverly named Italian restaurant? Or, would it be better to order the snapper marinated in Tandoori-baked yogurt and spices at Bhogali, the restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine? The choice is yours.
There's plenty to do close to the hotel. Just 10 minutes to the east is the renowned Tryall Country Club, widely considered the best in Jamaica. You can also charm your honey with an unusual, yet romantic river "cruise" on a bamboo raft. An expert raftsman steers you through mild rapids and lush scenery on an unforgettable journey.
