Excellent resort and great customer service at grand palladium. We were a party of 9 ladies. Shuttle service with Amstar to and from airport was excellent. Events services helped us plan our day trips. Rooms were clean. Only reason I gave a 3* is because my room the coffee maker was missing but the coffee pods were there. One day we asked for extra towels and they were not delivered by room service. Food in lotus was very good. Mexican restaurant was ok but food in indian restaurant was the worst tasting we ever ate:) Breakfast and lunch buffets had lot of choice. There were nightly shows every night at 9:30 pm and 'jamaican' was awesome. The nightly shows were open to all. Overall was a great experience!

I wouldn't go back

The pool is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are big, and the staff are very friendly. That's all I can say that is positive about the resort. It took us 2 HOURS to check in because our room wasn't ready. They preselect rooms for their guests, and everyone who came in 2 hours after us were leaving with their room keys while we sat there waiting. Instead of trying to fix it, they kept telling us to wait. Finally I said something and they tried giving us a room at the farthest end of the resort. Unacceptable, especially after making us wait. So they gave us a room that was supposed to be for someone else one building closer, not much better. By that time, it had started raining and the rest of the day we couldn't do anything. I don't care what anyone else says about the food, it was horrible. I've been to many resorts, and the food here either had no flavor, or was disguisting. The food looks beautiful, especially the pastries and desserts, but it tasted horrible. The buffet food was constantly cold, regardless if they had just put the food out. The milk and juices were constantly luke warm. Also, a lot of the restaurants were constantly running out of certain foods. Very disappointing. Now, the best part... NO HOT WATER! For 2 days they had issues with hot water. The second day they said the hot water would not be working from 12-5, so at 5:30 we called the front desk to ask about the water, and they said it would work at 6:00 (why leave a letter saying it would be fixed when it's not?). Finally after 6:30, we got tired of waiting and went to dinner with leftover sunscreen on us and salty hair. By the time we got back to the room the water finally worked. They had issues with their pool due to the water issue, so the pool was not fully filled during this time. Also, they don't mention that the seafood restaurant is only open certain times because they are constantly hosting weddings there. So we didnt get to go. And the italian restaurant is under renovation so that option was unavailable. For such a big resort, they need to get their act together. It is also not near anything, so wherever you go is at least a 45 min -2 hr drive. I would NOT recommend this resort. I would not go back.

Miserable Time

We stayed the 3rd week in May at the Grand Palladium. May is the rainy season. We did not know this - so please do not go to Jamaica at that time. The whole resort appeared to be run down. Pieces of the tile floor chipped or missing, patched up walls, ceiling in the bath sagging, etc. Our room was so cold when we arrived that we turned the a/c up to 80. The floor got wet, the TV fogged up. By the end of the week, my vitamins had mold on them. Our clothes always felt wet. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms. The bed was very uncomfortable. You couldn't sit on the sofa because it smelled like sour milk. We had to ask for a blanket because we were still cold in the room even after have the a/c turned up. We had 1 morning with no electricity. One afternoon/evening with no hot water. The majority of one day with no water anywhere on the resort. The restrooms became unbearable. Be prepared to do a lot of walking because even though they tell you what number to call to get picked up, they either don't answer the phone or it takes them forever to arrive. My husband thought the pool was dirty. They had guys with shirts that said pool attendants, but I never saw them do any cleaning. We thought the entertainment at poolside and in the evening was poor. If you want time on the beach - don't stay here. The beach is VERY small. You should go to Negril for that. The only positive thing that I can say about the place is that the housekeeper was very good to us.

What's to Love

It's all-inclusive, all-incredible and all-irie - you're in the earth-heaven known as Jamaica.

The dreamy 86,000 sq. ft. infinity pool with in-water loungers & Jacuzzis - the largest in Jamaica.

Vegging at the Zentropia spa - Turkish baths, Finnish sauna, the refreshing footbath & oceans more.

If you're vegetarian, they've got taste bud-slaying food choices, and no reservations required at any of the restaurants.

The ever-helpful & friendly staff - they're the crowning jewel of this awesome place.

The delish Jamaican coffee in the cafe. Perfect any time.

What We'd Change

The city of Lucea is pretty quiet, but you will not need outside nightlife when the bars, theater and nightclub at the resort are happening!

Why You Should Go

It's just a half hour from airport, but in Jamaica you'll feel the vacay vibe the second you arrive.

There are sister privileges next door at the Lady Hamilton.

The Kids Club for ages 4-12 is where kiddos can meet "Raggs," one of 5 musical friendly dogs.

There's no smoking in all public covered areas on the island as per the Jamaican Health Minister.

The catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats and snorkeling are complimentary aka FREE.

For a fee, you can enjoy sailing, scuba diving, the fitness center and more.

On land, there's tennis, archery, mini-golf & for bigger greens, tee off at the Tryall Golf Course.
