Riviera Maya Vacation

The Grand Palladium was a beautiful facility. Wonderful staff! Friendly, helpful, wanted to make you feel comfortable. The adult pool was the best. The main pool was pretty busy, louder but good for families, large groups. The food was fine, just the buffets tend to offer the same things every day and got a little boring. No wow factor or memorable food item offered, especially for dinner. And the indoor buffets were not air conditioned enough. The rooms were comfortable. Nice bath rooms, great shower and water pressure. Excellent room service ! The map of the complex was a little hard to read and find everything, since so much to see and walk to. But exploring the grounds was part of the adventure. Love the natural setting, local wildlife.

It's the best Caribbean resort for my 10+ years. Please consider to take repellent from mosquitos. Don't buy the bends, they don't work! Free WiFi almost useless: signal is perfect on almost all the territory, but internet connection is very weak. I was need to use cell data instead (it's good and free for T-mobile).

Great Service + Great Beach + Ok Food

We booked our trip super last minute, we just needed a place to relax after a stressful work month. We stayed for 4 nights, got a late night flight into Cancun and when we finally got to the hotel ( it's about 1hr and 10min from CUN) they put our reservation in the Paladium Katenah and instead of the Colonial and tried to convince us it was all the same thing... The receptionist also said our reservation showed up in their system with a different type of room (downgraded), then when he finally looked at my reservation realized it was a Junior Suite and it was the Colonial. Not sure who's at fault here, them or the site? Then, when we finally get to our room, it smelled like mold. My partner is asthmatic so that was a big no no. At this point is 12:30 am, we are starving and there is only one place to eat in the whole resort. I went back to the front desk, told them, they gave us another room pretty quickly, however that room had a tub with peeled off paint, hair and a cleaning kit. As if the cleaning crew never finished cleaning it. So we called again, they sent someone to clean it pretty quickly but the peeled off paint after all our headaches was unacceptable. No one comes to a 4 stars hotel to bathe on a tub with a lot of peeled paint! We called again, at this point is 1:30 am. We tell them, we will are going to eat and sleep in that room because there are no ther available rooms but in the morning we need a new room. We woke up the next morning, went to breakfast, explained the situation, got a new room, nothing was wrong with it and had a great time the rest of our trip. However the first night was awful. They sent us a tequila bottle and a fruit basket to compensate and the staff kept checking in on us the whole stay to make sure there was nothing wrong with our room. I guess we just had bad luck the first night. Foodwise, it could be just the all inclusive thing my partner and I are not down for. He's a chef in NYC and we are both New Yorkers and the food was meh... but our standards are higher than most. The service however was always fantastic.

Loved it!!

My husband and I went to this resort for our anniversary. It was amazing! The pool is huge. The beach was wonderful. Our room was great. The food was good and you don't need reservations for most of them, which is really nice. The steakhouse was especially good. No one on this resort is pushy. We didn't even get approached for a time share talk, which is something we normally dread. There was also no one bothering you on the beach while you were trying to relax. There is a scuba shop right on the beach and we did 4 dives with them. It was great. Overall wonderful experience. This is our second time at a Grand Palladium resort and it will definitely not be our last!

Resort Update
Palladium Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to upgrade its Riviera Maya Complex throughout 2017, including incorporating the current Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa into The Royal Suites Yucatan. This transformation will be completed in various phases starting on June 1, 2017. Construction will mostly take place within the current Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa and will have minimal impact. All guestrooms within the hotel, the rocky walkway along the water & the salt water pool area will be closed to all guests during the completion of the project. All other areas including the Riviera Lobby, Disco & Theatre, El Jardin Restaurant and the current The Royal Suites Lobby will be closed during certain dates listed below. During times of closure, the areas will not be accessible to guests and should therefore not impact the guest experience.

Below is a complete project timeline:

Disco & Theatre:
June 1-November 1, 2017: Construction will be in progress in the Disco and Theatre of the current Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa. During this time, alternate entertainment venues will be provided to guests. Once construction to the Disco and Theatre are complete, the Disco will convert to become one of four exclusive restaurants available to guests of The Royal Suites Yucatan and the Theatre will become the second exclusive restaurant providing guests with a Dinner and Show themed experience referred to as the Cabaret.

Riviera Lobby and Kabah Buffet:
June 1-September 15, 2017: Construction will be in progress at the current Riviera Lobby which will convert to the new The Royal Suites Lobby. Guests will not be affected by this construction since all guestrooms in Riviera will be closed. All hotel services will be available at the adjoining White Sand, Colonial and Kantenah Lobbies.

Construction will also be in progress at the Kabah Buffet. During this time, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available at La Laguna as well as the other restaurants within the Riviera Maya Complex.

The renovated Kabah Buffet will feature 2 separate sections (1 buffet exclusively available to guests of The Royal Suites and 1 for guests of Grand Palladium).

El Jardin Restaurant & the current The Royal Suites Lobby:
September 16-December 1, 2017: Construction will be in progress at El Jardin restaurant and the current lobby of The Royal Suites. The current lobby for The Royal Suites will convert into 2 separate a la carte restaurants. By this time, the new lobby for The Royal Suites will be open at its new location and the buffet will be available at Kabah.
