Grand oasis cancun review

The pictures on cheapcaribbean and the resort website were not 100%accurate. The service was excellent, and everyone who worked at the resort was super helpful and kind. The food was not very good. A lot of the restaurants would be out of their main dishes. This resort is the perfect destination for partying. Not the best for a romantic getaway!

Amazing resort

Everything about the place was great, the view, the drinks, the staff, the pool, the beach, etc. We loved it all except for two tiny hiccups. One thing was that it's a huge spring break trip destination so there were a lot of college kids being typical, partying, college kids. Not the worst, and certainly nothing the resort can do about that. The other thing is that the fridge in the room (nor the air conditioning) worked very well. Neither got cold. And we had three separate rooms in three separate buildings with all the same problem. I would go again for the value, but I would make sure that was fixed immediately.

We had an absolute blast at the Grand Oasis. I was a bit nervous after reading all the negative reviews about this place and we were extremely happy with the turn out! The rooms were great, we didn't spend much time in there except to sleep and shower. The AC worked, the safe was a great option, and the beds were comfortable. They even had a bottle of champagne waiting for us! The one complaint is the no door on the shower, it does make the entire bathroom wet, but we just used some towels for the floor and it was just fine. The housekeeping was great- they overturned our room 2x/day which was great, once for the day and then they came in and changed our beds over for night time. We had a great experience with the food as well. The buffets were your typical buffet, but great and quick service. Lots of choices. Our favorites were the Tapas & Wine and the Brazilian Steakhouse. We also really enjoyed the Tex-Mex place, complete with mariachi band! Each night was a fun adventure for dinner and drinks. The only downfall I would say are the drinks. They are quickly made and never the same, some were very strong and others I don't think had any alcohol in them. They always had a shortage of cups too, also the cups were tiny! They tried to keep up but there was never enough staff behind the bars, especially at night and at the swim up bars. The best bars were the martini bar and the one over by the steakhouse. As far as the beaches and the pool are concerned, no complaints at all! They were SO nice and always up-kept. We never had a problem getting beach chairs or mattresses down by the beach which was great! We had a great crowd too. Overall, I would recommend this place especially for a younger crowd looking for a good time. I would not say it is the best place for a family with little ones, but it could work!

Good for the price

Lots to do on the large resort. Restaurants do not take reservations like some other resorts so you have to get there when they open to schedule a time for that eveningd dinner. Lots of night life but rooms are not sound proofed very well so you can hear people coming down the hall all through the night. Clean beach and nice pools. For the price we paid i cannot complain on all the things available. We had a nce time.

What's to Love

The resort sits on an almost half-mile of snow-white, soft, sandy beach. Get those toes ready.

Stress-busting, poolside massages overlooking the turquoise Caribbean. Melt.

It has the longest pool in Cancun - it's a quarter-mile long. (You can find your own Private Idaho in it.)

The non-stop crazy fun: themed parties, dancing, shows & more.

Rooms include VIP check-in, stocked mini-bar, private lounge area, Oasis Plus Concierge and more.

What We'd Change

Grand Oasis Cancun is a little far from Cancun's nightlife. If you're heading out to experience a lively evening, catch a cab and party the night away.

Why You Should Go

It's 25 short minutes away from the airport. Your first frosty vacay cocktail is a heartbeat away.

You can rent a Smart car, and zip around Cancun in style.

You can burn off those margaritas with aerobics, cross fit, yoga and Zumba.

There's a nine-hole, par 3 golf course that's near the resort.

Water sports nearby at AquaWorld: kayaks, catamarans and aquatic bikes. Splish splash.

You've got 20 restaurants and 20 bars to savor on this vacay. Time to dig in at all this deliciousness.

There's a world-class golf course near. Gotta love that. The spa is fantabulous. Perfect for chillaxing and recovering from all the merriment you'll have here. BEACHES AND POOLS

The 650 meters of pristine, sugar-white sand is more than swoon-worthy, as are the two beach clubs that each boast DJs. The pool, well, let's just say: be prepared to have your hair blown back. It's 300 meters long and one of the largest in Latin America. Peace out, beach lovers.
