Perfect second honeymoon
We went for a second honeymoon and the staff helped make it special--very helpful and friendly. The beach is very user friendly, some decent snorkeling around the rock promontory and a very good water sports/trips desk. If you like food, it's a short 7 minute walk to town and a dozen over-the-top restaurants, we ate at 8 of them and all were amazing in taste and presentation. No problem with parking at the Club. I liked the magnetic swipe room cards that worked for the gates for cars, the pool and exercise room. We plan to return!
GREAT VACATION. WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN. HAVING A CAR TO GO TO OTHER BEACHES ON THE ISLAND MADE THE TRIP MORE EXCITING. WE VISITED DIFFERENT BEACHES AND FOUND ONE WE ENJOYED. ORIENT BEACH WAS TOO CROWDED AND THE 3 DEEP CHAIRS DID NOT SUIT OUR FANCY.
We stayed at the Club for six nights celebrating our 30th wedding anniversay and could not have been more pleased. The restaurant at the Club was quite good and the staff very agreeable and attentive. The continental breakfast that is included was very nice and the menu selections for other items were reasonably priced. You should definitely try the French toast as it is made from slices of baguette. The room was very comfortable - very clean, great bed, easily controlled airconditioning, a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, flat screen TV, not to mention a wonderful view. While wi-fi is reported to be limited to public areas, we had no trouble accessing the internet in the room.
The town of Gran Case is a short walk from the Club and has a great selection of restaurants from which to choose. As is the case throughout the Caribbean, food is expensive but that considered, we thought we got good value.
If you're a foodie, don't miss the gastronomic cruise which was recommended to us by the Club staff - a day cruise to Prickly Pear Island that included lunch on board a spectacular catamaran that featured a whole pig roasted on a rotisserie oven on the ship's stern.
We look forward to returning to this gem of a resort.

Wonderful except for on-site restaurant.
We've stayed there many times and it remains one of the llovliest, well--managed residence hotels imaginable. The restaurant is disgraceful, however, with mediocre food geared to Americans who are thought not to know or expect any better. Hard to understand since its not an inexpensive.
Fortunately, the rooms have kitchens with microwaves and restaurants are within walking distance. However, if you want to just stay in and eat at the Beach Club, be lower your expectations. This is the French side but its not France. As a matter of fact, its not your average neighborhood restaurant. Regulars and owners should do something about the situation. It has such a lovely setting and a built-in clientele. All they need is a decent cook.
