Bad Service

Was there with my husband for a week, first day they sent us to a room where the AC was not working and they knew this. Could not sleep the first night, so our amstar representative had to go and speak to them to change our room. The service is really bad, when you ask them something they will send you to someone else who still won't solve the problem. The food was okay nothing special. The only thing I really liked was the Mediterranean restaurant, our server there was really nice although he was very busy. Overall, I will give this hotel 3 stars. The enternainment sucks and the staff is boring and they act like they don't care about you. THe pools are okay and the beach was so so.

First vacay without the kids

I want to start by saying the service was exceptional. We had 3 full days at the resort, must have gone during tropical storm season, because it rained everyday. However I was ok with that, I love the rain. The room was clean and modern, no complaints. As a matter of fact, we were upgraded when we arrived to the luxury resort side. We were celebrating our 33rd birthdays, and it was a nice bonus, however the luxury resort was full of 50+ adults. Not quite our peers, but we did have access to all the other resorts for free, as well as the private beach and all other restaurants and buffets. The buffet was good, we filled our days with excursions, so didn't get to experience the restaurants, but heard they were great. The beaches were nice although it rained. All resorts were clean and nicely manicured. The resort was HUGE, a bus line ran throughout the entire resort, which was nice. I noticed they had plenty of activities for children, therefore I may consider taking mine next time and make it a family vacation. I definitely couldn't have asked for a better resort. The price was on the higher side my fiancé and I paid $1300 for 3 days, but I will account that to it being Labor Day weekend. The resort had everything that you needed. I would def go back if it were slightly cheaper, considering I'm thinking of taking my 3 children next time. You will enjoy it here for sure.

Great vacation

We are in Mexico pretty often. It was first time we visited in summer (August), first time in GBP -it was hot there and it was good. If you don't like hot go to Alaska! (or Europe sometimes!) The resort is huge, the biggest I've ever been but it was good to walk after you ate & drank much more than you usually do. AC in the room worked great and the room was descent, cleaned every day. Just OK but I don't go for vacation to stay indoor. Great food! It was the cheapest resort I've been so far and the food was the best. Great selection for any picky eater. We didn't do any trips since we were on mostly all of them. Waiting for my daughter turn 10 so we could dive! Service is great, they mostly speak English and it's nice because I think it's not necessary. If you want to travel, you should be respectful and learn other languages (not complain that everyone should know English - they can but don't have to!) Can't wait to go back in October for dia de muertos!

Go if you love mosquitos

I had been to Cancun/Riviera Maya for at least 10 times. This is the worst hotel that has mosquitoes problems. It is OUT OF CONTROL. Yes, you read it right. Out of control. We are families of 8, got bit between 5-15 for each of us every single day, and YES, WE DO HAVE BUGS SPRAY ALL THE TIMES. There were about 200 mosquitoes out side our door, on the wall, all over the wall every morning & nights. Yes, that much. Going to these areas so many times we knew what to do. We always dress in long pants with socks, cover shoes, long sleeve shirt plus bugs spray each night but till, oh my god, the mosquitoes bit us through the pants & shirts. They are attacking you. Moving around doesn't help either, they are that hungry. However, the beach is beautiful but rocky. Very little chairs & umbrellas. We stayed there for 7 days never get to use anything. The ride is about 5-10 minutes to the beach which doesn't bother us. Water shoes highly recommended. Our room was in building 31, right at the pool and kids pool so it is close to all the restaurants too. The room is nice. The toilet top is "smaller" than the toilet bowl LOL and I don't know why, same with my other family room too. Sucks that you have to pay extra each day to use the safety box. Internet is terrible. Even when you sit in the lobby still not working. Most of everyone, not just me. Some works but super slow. The pool, not enough chairs. If you want a spot under the umbrella or shade you have to go around 7:30-8:00. By 8:30-9:00am will only have chairs without the umbrella or shape if you are lucky. By 10 am, you won't be able to fine any chair at all. All the restaurant has good food except the Japanese one. Terrible food. And mosquitoes way too much that we have to leave early, cancel the food, going to the buffet instead because everyone in the family got bit like crazy while sitting, about 10-15 bit each person. The buffet is huge but they have the same food (well, most of it) for the whole week. Drinks are not at all, any drinks, from kids to adults. Last thing, they control the air in your room, which always stay around 77F-78F doesn't matter you put it on max. Our stay is during mid August, so it was uncomfortable. All the restaurant does not have enough air, A/C, it's hot, always not. From fancy restaurant to the buffet, hot hot hot. Around over 80F. Specially the buffet, we all sweat so much while we eat, not enjoyable at all.
