Enjoyable

Enjoyed the resort. Food was good but reservations at ala carte restaurants were hard to get at an early hour. Premier Lobby restaurant was the best. Some foods were not warm enough, but with the amount of food it was easy to see why. Pools and whirlpools were very nice but everything was so crowded, especially the beach - no lounges or coveri found. Had to put a towel down and couldn't really take advantage. Coba Lobby was always crowded. Room was very nice and very quiet. Met a lot of nice people. Ride from airport was way too long. Weather was perfect. We had to wait past check in time for a room because there was a leak. Finally they gave us another room. Very large facility to get around, but the trams were very helpful and drivers directed you how to get places. It was easy to make arrangements with Cheap Caribbean, and no troubles with that. Frontier worked out very well. The crowd was mixed, with young adults, children and older people. It was hard to find out about all the activities. We had a nice time - something we have always wanted to do - and it was fairly reasonable.

Most caring staff ever, cant wait to go back.

I have been to mexico a couple of times now, and this resort was wonderful. The best part of resort was the staff. Mateo in the lobby was the best took our bags and watched them till check in on the way out did the same but during the week any thing we needed he was there. Domingo also in lobby was just as great. The pools were awesome the beach a little crowded but still good, The food was great drinks good, rooms clean and fresh towels every day. One day we went to pool and I went back to room to get something and there was a matience guy in there fixing our fan because it shook I never complained about fan but the maid had told them so they fixed it. The maids were excellent. The pool entertainment was great every day and well coordinated. I can not say enough how staff went way out of there way to make sure every one was happy and safe. They work extreamly hard and I just wish I could have tipped them more they deserve it. Please if u go please tip them they work so hard and r the best.

Bahia Coba

We began looking into Riviera Maya vacations and looked at the Bahia Coba package, we read the reviews and felt a little nervous and apprehensive. However, we were pleasantly surprised! The staff was great, the resort was clean, the room was clean and comfortable! Check in was smooth, reservations at the ala carte restaurants were simple and booking excursions was a breeze! The buffet food was good. The drinks were great!!! The only thing I can almost but not really complain about is that the resort is huge!!!! We had a week there and still didn't see everything. You really need to take a trolley everywhere. The bartenders worked their butts off, but service was slow at some of the bars, the only fix would be to get a few more bartenders! We have a philosophy when traveling, treat people pleasantly and graciously and they will do the same. Tipping - leave a buck or two at every meal, a buck or two on your bed for housekeeping everyday, a buck or two here and there for your trolley drivers and bartenders, this small token is appreciated and will definitely enhance your vacation in every aspect!!!!!!! Great Vacation!!!! Happy Travels!!!

Mid-average experience in a beautiful part of Mex

Perhaps we might feel differently if this were our first stay in a resort, but we were not wow'ed by our experience. While the resort itself is massive and beautiful, it seems their attention to detail is lacking. For instance, it took us two days to get accustomed to how things worked, such as the towels, food, and transportation. We had to ask other guests. Questions you have are not just a phone call away -- they ask that you walk to whatever lobby you're associated with (also very confusing) and talk to someone, and their business hours are limited, so it gets tricky. Our room's jacuzzi didn't work, and there were ants all over the balcony area, which was on the first floor. The air conditioning was awful -- our room was so hot. We were not able to get room service (??? no idea why), so we had to rely solely on the main lobby's buffet, since we only stayed four nights. They have a rule about how many a la carte dinners you can have based on how many nights you stay, and it was nearly impossible to get a reservation for any of them. We made a reservation for one the day we arrived, and none were available before 9pm. When we checked in, they couldn't find our information. Talk about terrifying, after you've spent a day flying to Mexico. Sensing my panic, one of the workers gave me a margarita. I drank the whole thing before they found my information, and they said it was in a different lobby. I'm sure it's because the place is so massive, but come on? It was not a personalized experience, and we spent a lot of time freaking out about whether or not we'd have transportation home. This is definitely a KID FRIENDLY resort. My husband and I don't have kids yet, so that could get kind of annoying if you're looking for a romantic getaway. We found one pool that was adults only, and kids still swam around in that. I think it's a great spot for parents with children who are looking for a good time, but that wasn't the case for us. Because the resort is so huge, they provide shuttles to transport you around. HOWEVER, we were turned away almost every time we tried to get a ride in the shuttle. Luckily, we're young and in shape, but I honestly can't imagine that everyone is able to walk the distance it takes to get to food, shopping, etc. in this resort. I had to call and ask someone to come pick us up when we were checking out, so as not to haul our suitcases all over. It's also unclear where you can go to get to a beach. If I had known how limited beach access was, I probably would have booked elsewhere. My husband and I went to a beach first thing in the morning our first full day, and we enjoyed about ten minutes of solitude and sun before a worker came over, speaking only Spanish, telling us we can't sit there. Fortunately, my husband is a Spanish teacher, otherwise we would have never known what was happening. I guess, based on our wrist bands, we weren't allowed to be at the closest beach to our villa. (???) It felt very discriminatory, and there was not another soul on the beach yet. There is a very cool little shopping plaza with bars and shops for souvenirs. It was nice to attend for last minute gifts. We did spend one day on an excursion, but I planned that outside of the hotel. Some of the staff was so fun and helpful -- Carlos and Jose in particular. There was a nice snack bar (they said it was open 24/7, but didn't open until noon each day?) to grab a quick bite near the jacuzzi pool, in case we didn't want to walk all the way to the main lobby. The entertainment was fun and accessible. All in all, it was a nice experience, but I think the resort could make a few key changes to improve.
