The resort overall was alright except for the raw sewage being drained in the pool area and next to the snack bar. We did not received the rooms we booked and had a horrible experience with the registration staff. I would never go back to this resort again nor recommend to anyone.

June stay

Overall, the trip was great, the room was beautiful! We upgraded to ocean view and it was absolutely worth it! The only downfall to the room was that the mattress was extra EXTRA firm. The buffet had great food with lots of choices. The 3 restaurants on site were delicious! For our anniversary, guest services decorated our room and made it feel extra special. Unfortunately, the hotel is quite far from the airport (1.5-2.5 hours depending on the driver) when it came time for departure, it took about 60-90 minutes of our time to simply find out when the shuttle would be picking us up. Since we were on a full day excursion for the last day, we couldn't meet our rep from the shuttle company operated by grand bahia, we didnt know if the front desk would actually follow up, we ended up trying to call our rep. We were routed through at least 10-15 people and disconnected multiple times. No one could help us… and all for a simple pick up time. Although there was some language barrier, the communication was HORRIBLE.

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive escape haven for the whole clan.

Falling into a trance in the gazebo during a mind-cleansing massage by the pool.

Hydro massage tub in the rooms and unwinding after a day full of ... well, unwinding.

The breath-stealing view of Samana Bay. There's nothing quite like it.

What We'd Change

The drive is more than a few hours out to this resort but once you arrive, you'll understand why you came. And you get one heck of a sightseeing expedition along the way.

Why You Should Go

It's 50 minutes from the Samana airport - patience, you'll be a happy beacher soon.

You can burn off the extra vacay calories at the gym or during aerobics.

Paddle surfing, kayaks, catamarans and snorkeling are all free one hour per day.

The VIP Couples Special includes a flower-and-candlelit private aromatherapy Jacuzzi and massage - yes, please.
