A good getaway

We had a good time at this resort. The rooms were 3.5 to 4 star, but the staff did a very good job with the daily cleaning. Our one complaint is that the beds were hard. We were not looking for a spring break crazy and this hotel was a very good laid back experience. Given the access to their sister property next door you could find all of the activity you wanted within a short walk. The service was always excellent from the bellman, wait staff and pool attendants. The breakfast were very good in the hotel only a smaller version of next door. Lunches were adequate poolside although we ended up going either to Bogavante or the small restaurant across the street El Galeon de Caribe. El Galeon had the best ceviche and fish taco's definitely worth your time. We had several meals at Bogavante and the atmosphere was really nice overlooking the water, Veneto was also very good. The menu's were a little disjointed but we could always find a good fish on the menu. We were disappointed with Marco Polo next door and wouldn't go back. Overall it was a good experience value for the money. We would return.

Solid all inclusive

The beach was beautiful, the pools and hot tubs were really nice. Everything was kept very clean (thanks Juanita! And the whole facilities team) and very well maintained and we received tremendous and friendly service at the bars, housekeeping, the front desk, bellman, restaurants ... all of it was really great! The price was good for what you get....The reason I gave it 4-stars is because I have had better food at similarly priced all inclusives in Cancun (with the exception of Marco Polo which was really good, but you can only make reservations between 9-2 for the day even though it was not full on the 2 nights we went) and the bed was ridiculously hard. I've never commented in a review on a bed before, so take that for what it's worth. If you like a firm mattress, you'll be in great shape! The other thing to note, is that the waves come in super strong which is beautiful and the roar of the ocean is relaxing but you cannot snorkel on this beach due to how strong the waves are and the undertow is pretty strong so it might not be the best spot to bring kids.

Loved it!

This was one of the best vacations ever! The food and rooms were OK, not super grand, but the staff more than made up for any setback we may have had! I cannot adequately tell you how helpful, kind, funny and just all around wonderful the people were. Special thanks to Cecelia who every day remembered my drink order, special thanks to Abe where we got most of our breakfasts during our stay, and special thanks to Leon and the pool staff for the drinks througbout the day. My friends and I are absolutely coming g back! We had an incredible vacation! Thanks again to all of you for making our vacation so memorable. Theresa.

Okay experience

My wife and I stayed for 5 days 4 nights. The hotel and accommodations were all fine; could have been better but could have been much worse. The hotel service was great but the food was slightly better than mediocre and the rooms/ common areas could use some updates and maintenance. Pretty good for the money though.

What's to Love

The hauntingly beautiful Mexican-Moroccan architecture that's soothing and graceful - it lulls you right into your Chill Zone.

Resort privileges at Royal Solaris Cancun - check out the mouthwatering pizzas served by the pool and the kids will love the waterpark.

The intimate plazas, or "Mexican squares", where you can spend some quiet time relaxing, enjoying a drink and embracing that, yes, you are actually on vacay.

The spa where you can melt into stress-smashing massages, the Jacuzzi, steam room, and more. Pampering Central.

Every Thursday, you can watch exotic belly dancers in the lobby whose sensual moves channel women from antiquity. (Think Salome, but nicer versions).

You can enjoy hours of doing nothing on their gorgeous terraces. (That's what getaways are for, right?)

Dining at the sublime Bogavante restaurant as you gaze at azure water lapping a few feet away.

What We'd Change

For you athletes, there's tennis, putt putt golf and beach volleyball. Let the games begin.

There's an onsite mini golf course and mini water parks next door at Royal Solaris, but both offer BIG fun.

For your little ones, there's a Kids Club at Royal Solaris Cancun where they can dive into everything from puzzles to face painting to movies. (Read: lots of activities so they'll sleep well at night).
