What I love about this resort:
This hotel really evokes Mexican hospitality. The lobby is under a giant palapa and the rooms have warm Mexican tile floors and accents. The hotel is located in the center of the hotel strip making downtown very easily accessible. The pool is the epicenter of the property and is very inviting and lively.
What I wish I could change:
The junior suites here offer large balconies but are on lower floors so don't offer much privacy from balconies of higher floors.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta is, without a doubt, one of the most attractive hotels in Banderas Bay, the second largest bay on the Pacific. With contemporary Mexican architecture, this beautiful construction is perfectly harmonized with a landscape bordered by the mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the most beautiful beach in Vallarta.

Guests can enjoy the cool air provided by the large palapa in the lobby, a beautiful waterfall, and splendid rooms. In this beautiful resort you can enjoy the pool, gymnasium and massage services, take part in watersports, beach volleyball, waterpolo and bingo or simply lie back and enjoy the beach and the sea breeze.

A heated free-form pool with swim-up bar and jetted section flows into a separate children's section. The resort's deep, 100-meter (109-yd) beach is furnished with thatched-roof palapas for shade. The resort maintains a fenced-in nursery on the beach for hatching endangered-turtle eggs during the nesting season. When turtles hatch (July-January), guests assist in releasing them into the sea. It is also the best departure point to access a splendid golf course, to discover the islands that surround the Banderas Bay, to take a tour to see the whales (at certain times of the year) or simply go out and navigate your way around.

Diagonally across the street from the resort, Plaza Caracol contains shops, cafes, and a large supermarket featuring a Mexican self-serve supermarket bakery offering dozens of varieties of cookies, donuts, pastries, cakes, pies, and warm-from-the-oven breads.

An air-conditioned fitness center contains weight machines, cardio machines, and free weights. An adjacent salon offers massages and hair/nail care. Massages are also available in a thatched-roof palapa on the beach. A children's club provides complimentary supervised outdoor activities (ages 4-12). Beginning with pool aerobics, complimentary family activities center in and around the pool. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available in the Fiesta Americana - Puerto Vallarta's lobby.

DINING / BARS:

CHULAVISTA - Multi-level, open-air, thatched-roof restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with an ample menu of International and Mexican dishes with menu service.
LA HACIENDA - Air-conditioned fine-dining restaurant with pool-view terrace seating. Grand-hacienda ambience of period paintings and pottery, dark-wood trim. International menu featuring Mexican specialties. Open for dinner only. Reservations required. Dress code: Long pants or dress shorts, sleeved shirts, and closed-toe shoes.
LA TERRAZA - A casual restaurant located around the pool area. This restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a buffet or menus service.
SUNSET SNACK BAR - Casual, open-air spot with thatched roof. Open all day for tropical drinks, burgers, hot dogs, nachos, tacos, sandwiches, burritos, and quesadillas.
BIKINI BAR - Pool bar with swim-up side serving refreshing drink and delicious snacks. Open mid-morning to late night.
LOBBY BAR - Open late afternoon to late night. Live music Thursday-Saturday during busy seasons.
