Immerse yourself in luxury at the all inclusive Excellence Riviera Cancun, an adults-only resort on Mexico's Riviera Maya coast. This Mediterranean-style resort of stucco, tile and marble is situated on a pristine white-sand beach. Secluded, but not isolated, the resort is close to Cancun, Playa del Carmen and ancient Mayan ruins, so exploring is simple. With all the included activities, though, it's understandable if you never venture off the grounds.

Great all inclusive
This resort was just as advertised. Great drinks, Great food, Great beach, Great pool, Great room. One minor glich was having to call at 500Pm to have our room made up. Only hapened once. Other than that it was truley excellent.
This resort is hands down the BEST. The service, food, and grounds were excellent indeed. We stayed in the Junior Suite room , which was amazing!!! Room servie was also amazing as we ordered every morning breakfast to enjoy being in our room and out on our balcony. Overall great trip and highly recommend. The only down fall was not much to do in the evening as far as entertainment. they have an outdoor theater which we enjoyed and only one dance bar. They have band that plays outside as well , which was nice. Just not a whole lot otherwise , which was fine for us as we were there to relax and recharge the batteries.
Everything about this resort is true in its title..EXCELLENCE. They really strive to be excellent in everything they do.
The Room - Very clean and classy. The room service was amazing. We had an ocean front room. The view alone was worth the trip.
The Food - Increadible, Basmati (indian) was the best in our opinion. The range of food provided is amazing. From french, indian, seafood, pizza, mexican, and american cuisine, all were amazing.
The Service - This is what really makes this resort truly excellent. Everyone from the hotel manager to the guys raking the beach went out of their way to say "hola" and to ask you how you were and if you needed anything.
The Grounds - Perfection... We walked the beach every morning and could see other resorts. You can really see the effort Excellence puts in to maintaining their beach. The interior of the resort was filled with winding pools and lush gardens.
Overall - An experience we will never forget. Thanks to all the Employees at Excellence Riviera Cancun

What a GREAT Find
We have been all over the Caribbean and in fact have been a repeat guest of two (2) resorts 38 and 16 times, but we found a NEW LOVE.
From the moment we met Olympus Tours at the Airport, we could not have been more pleased with our trip!
The Excellence Riviera Cancun has everything anyone can ask for. The minute you arrive, you are treated with "excellence"! The accommodations, the service, food, ambiance, entertainment is "excelente"! So many staffers - from the bell men (Ricardo) to the Excellence Club concierge staff (Karen, Michelle, et al), the Club wait staff (thank you Juan, Luis, Javier, Angel) could not be more attentive. The Bar staff (Moses, Joel) and the Club Excellence attendants (Fabian and his girls) were wonderful. The wait staff at the restaurants were fabulous (Guilermo at Tuscana, Victor at The Lobster House, and all the others!!!). Alfonso the tennis pro was great fun and gave some much needed instruction!!
We know we left out so many other staffers to commend, because everyone was so great!!
This is a definite "keeper" for us and we want to be repeat guests over and over again!!

We took a shopping trip to Playa del Carmen from the hotel price is under 20pp and drive was only about 20 min away.

Don't know Jennifer, but Mexican buses are excellent really motor coaches and first class.
Rather than stay at an all inclusive, which we have done and they are good, we prefer to go online and rent a condo right in Playa del Carmen. There are numerous cantinas and restaurants with inexpensive food and adult beverages, you can be as close to the beach as you want and there are numerous trips to Tulum or Xel Ha, which I highly recommend if you like to snorkel. You can walk just about any place you want to go in Playa and the ferry to Cozumel is right there also.

Took a shuttle set up by the hotel Olympus Tours onsite. It's about 45 minutes as the bus makes stops at other resorts to pick up and drop off along the way. Cost was $15 per person. Well worth it versus dealing with cabs.

The resort offers transportation there, plus a taxi would be around $ 20 to 40.

Not sure if you still need this answer, but this resort is about a 25 minute drive away from Playa Del Carmen. The taxis are about $60 round trip, and your taxi driver will wait for you while you shop in Playa. It was a good deal, and we enjoyed taking an afternoon to go shopping and explore a little bit in Playa. The hotel front desk will help you get a taxi in no time.

its 25-30 minutes from cancun and playa del carmen by taxi. 36 USD or 360 pesos. everything is cheaper if you pay in pesos. resort desk will exchange the money for you. 50 peso bills are great for tips and are a little under $4 USD.

All the information you are hearing/seeing about travel to Mexico is along the boarding and far from the resort areas. The resort vendors as well as CheapCaribbean vendors that offer excursions are very safe and reliable.

Completely safe.... The Cancun / Riviera Maya region is a conflict free zone. We just got back from there for our honeymoon. We did 2 excursions.. 1 to Tulum..excellent and the other a shopping trip to Playa Del Carmen. Other than saying "no" to vendors trying to sell you things, it was completely safe and excellent... I would highly recommend Excellence Riviera Cancun

Six pools meander around Excellence Cancun, covering over 77,800 square feet amidst a tropical background. Float up to the swim-up bar for drinks, lounge under an umbrella, or take advantage of poolside waiter service. Three Jacuzzis provides a stunning view and two pools by the spa are perfect for a post-massage dip. If an ocean view is more your speed, head to the immaculate shore and set up camp on a beach lounge. You'll enjoy a thatched-roof umbrella, towel and waiter service.
Access the spa directly via the swimming pool. Situated in a lush garden setting, private treatment cabins are available for individuals and couples.
